"Detective Lesia," someone called my name, gently tapping my shoulder. Lynn's face appeared in my weary gaze, as if she had just entered my unit.

I glanced at my watch; I hadn't slept for more than an hour. Exhaustion had overwhelmed me, causing me to doze off on the couch.

"Why?" I mumbled, my hands reflexively touching my face.

"Liam Ong," she replied, and I sat up abruptly at the mention of that name.

"What about him?" I questioned, acutely aware of the intensity in her gaze, which made my throat tighten.

"Are you investigating this man?" she asked, placing a photo on the table.

"Yes, do you have any information about his death?"

"Leave this case alone," her tone grew serious, and her eyes locked onto mine.
