Chapter 2: Heartbreak

"Ohhh" I forgot to introduce him.....

Kyle Dawn is an illegitimate child of a very wealthy family who was tossed out after his adoptive father died, the memories of those times where still fresh in his memories but that will be a story for another day.

Despite his handsome appearance, Kyle's clothes could tell from a first glance that he was poor not just poor, extremely poor. The truth was that the 24yr old student was an average student, juggling various jobs to meet ends meet, of course he would have to do that in order to survive. At times, he would run errands for wealthier students just to earn a few extra bucks, and this made him one of the most looked down student on campus. He had lost his pride a long time ago, "fuck pride" Kyle would always say, he didn't give a damn fucking care to his ego not in this condition he is now, he will just do anything to survive.

Kyle walked slowly to his dorm, he opened the door and walked inside.

"Gosh, these my roommate can't they even take care of their things, they would just mess up this place and leave it to me to take care of this shit" he said scratching his head as he started cleaning the room. He knew the type of roommates he had, they where the only friends he had in this world apart from his girlfriend.

Ezra and Maverick, those where the names of his friends who has helped him in bad times, sometimes they even fed him, and he knew they where damn lazy, so the least he could do for them was to help clean up this mess they had created in here.

After several minute of cleaning, Kyle sat on his bed, he was sweating profusely as he was lost in thought, he was thinking about his parents, since he came into this world he has never met his parent, rumors had it that they committed suicide, countless rumors where told about them, he was left in an orphanage at the age of five until he was adopted by the Godiva's family, although Mr Godiva was a kind and good man who saw him as his own, the same could not be said about the rest of the family members. They would always maltreat him when Mr Godiva was not around, they would starve him, and beat him up, those moment where the worst moment of his life.

When Mr Godiva died, they drove him out the house and rented a shabby building for him which he called home but later sold it because of other necessities. He knew the reason for their behaviour, although he was small then but was very sharp and that was the reason they needed to get rid of him, they where only waiting for him to come of age so that they can transfer all his shares over.

Tears dropped out from Kyle face "Father, mother, if you where both here I wouldn't be going through this right, I know all those rumors about you two is a lie and know you two would have cared, protected and cherished me, why!!, why would you have too go and leave me alone in this wicked world, why would you have to let me suffer this much, I feel like shit right now, am always working hard to meet my daily needs, pay for my tuition and other bills, why must it have to be me" kyle shouted as he cried profusely. These thought where really a pain in the heart, he cleaned his tears as he lay down and slept off.

It was around seven o'clock pm in spring crescent university, the night carried a festive air, with students enjoying themselves all around. Meanwhile, as the students enjoyed themselves, in the quiet dorm laid Kyle who just woke up from his sleep, he stretched as he got up to wash his pale face. His stomach rumbled as it was clearly saying he needed some food. Kyle sighed as he ate the last piece of bread he saved from yesterday, he knew it wouldn't be enough for him but he was used to it, he just needed to drink lot of water so it will fill up the remaining space left.

"Ohhh, I totally forgot, me and Silver where meant to meet up this evening, oh, holy crap, I hope she won't get angry with me if am late, I will make it up to her at least I managed to get her a present for the first time she would be happy" Kyle thought as he giggled to himself. He was very happy he had saved up and had invested $100 in buying her a cake and was very happy. He jumped as he went to prepare himself.

Him and Silver where both friends from high school and had started dating when they where in senior three.

Even though Kyle's family background was complicated, he was quite handsome and was good at studies, he was a typical boy who was considerate and family oriented.

Silver was not bad either, she was the most beautiful girl in her class and although her grades where not as great as Kyle's, she was still considered as one of the best and most promising student.

He smiled as he brought out his old shabby phone to call her, but it was not going through, he tried over and over again but resulted in nothing, he tried sending text messages but got no reply, a sudden fear came upon him. He remembered, teachers often criticized them when they started dating. The teachers only decided to close an eye to their relationship after the two of them promised multiple times that they would not neglect their studies and would break up immediately if their studies worsened.

Just as they said, both of them managed to get into Spring crescent university, and a lot of people envied them.

However Kyle started noticing unusual behaviours from Silver as if she was trying to distance herself from him less than a year after he started university.

In reality, this changes started at the start of the semester, whenever they where together Silver mind would be somewhere else, on one of the Saturdays, he even saw Silver get into the car of a famous playboy who was known for his extravagant lifestyle because of his parent wealth.

He quickly snapped out of his daze, "no Silver can't do that, maybe she has some family problems she doesn't want to disclose with me and about her getting into Derrick's car I remembered the teacher paired them up for our weekly assessment.

"Phew" Kyle said, I almost had an heart attack for a moment, I should trust her and give her some time to explain things to me, he said puffing out hot air from his mouth as he started fanning himself with his palm, "I need to start heading out now it almost time" he said walking out of the dorm.

Just as he stepped outside of the campus dorm he suddenly heard a loud noise echo through the campus shattering Kyle's peaceful thought, "what was that for" Kyle said with a frown.

"Huuh"

He was flabbergasted at what he saw at that moment. More than a hundred college student has gathered, all clapping and shouting in unison.

"Say yes, say yes, say yes" echoed simultaneously through the air.

"I wonder what this gathering is all about" Kyle giggled to himself, well I guess I would be in for some drama.

"INDEED"

Kyle walked towards the crowd, he cleared his throat and inquired,

"Excuse me please what is happening here"

The young man turned, a hint of surprise could be seen on his face which quickly turned into a frown as he saw who asked the question. "Oh, you don't know? Derrick Blade is actually proposing to one of the campus beauties" the man explained be exiting hurriedly.

"Oh, I see, Derrick Blade, I thought as much, I would be in for some drama today, who would have thought that the Derrick Blade I know would actually be proposing to a girl, has rivers started flowing backwards", well I pity that girl, she would be in for trouble" he said excitedly. Little did he not know that that happiness would soon turn to sadness.

Derrick Blade was a well known affluent figure in Spring crescent university. Flashy cars, extravagant meals and Lifestyle steeped in luxury where all at the tip of his fingers thanks to his rich parent.

His reputation as a playboy was no secret, he seemed to change ladies on a weekly basis. Even though they were all in the same university, he was a Casanova, Kyle himself has carried out an errand for him discreetly. So the news of the popular, famous playboy proposing to a girl left him shocked and not just him as well.

Kyle hurriedly rushed into the crowd as the noise became more louder and clearer. Kyle forcefully squeezed himself to the front so that he can capture everything.

In the midst of the clamor, Derrick Blade could be seen kneeling down clutching a bright exquisite diamond ring.

Before him stood a captivating figure who stood with her back facing Kyle's position making it impossible to see her face.

Kyle observing from where he stood couldn't help but chuckle" is this girl going to accept this playboy" I mean he is a typical Casanova.

"Silver, you should consider this offer, you know am wealthy, and I can provide you with a life full of comfort and enjoyment" everyone could hear Derrick Blade words.

"Silver" Kyle was slightly taken aback as he heard that name, no, there are others girls who bears that name also.

"Just say yes already" a student chimed in

"If it was me I wouldn't even spare a second" another said.

"Silver Frost, you should just accept already" A student.

"Yes, I Silver frost accepts to be Derrick Blade girlfriend" Silver said smiling and stretching forth her hand as Derrick placed the rings on her fingers.

On hearing this Kyle body vibrated in shock, his girlfriend was going to date Derrick Blade, why, why" Kyle grunted in anger.

"Silver frost" they could hear a frail voice piercing through the every other voice at that moment. Turning in the direction of the voice all eyes fell on Kyle.

"What drama does this student have for us today" a student asked with anger.

Silver gulped down emptiness as her eyes met with Kyle's "What are you doing here" she asked.

"What does it feel like am doing here, Silver" Kyle shouted with rage.

Derrick face twisted into a frown seeing what was going on, "Hey kiddo can't you show some respect, your daddy is asking mummy out you should get your fucking as out of here you asshole" Derrick taunted.

BOOM!!"

Kyle's fist was Implanted on Derrick face

"What!!, did he just punch Derrick handsome face, what is happening" a student said. At that moment everywhere seemed to be rowdy.

"Hey Kyle you better stop causing a scene and leave" Silver said

After hearing those words kyle was taken aback, currently he was in a state of abysmal.

"Silver, what did you say, I thought we where an item, I thought you loved me, why are you doing this to me, is it because of his money, look here I bought you your favorite cake, don't leave me please" Kyle begged.

"Wow, did you hear what that freak said, he is dating Silver, I can't believe he would come up with that kind of expensive lie"

"What going on here"Derrick shouted

"Derrick no need to worry, he is the poverty stricken lover boy that has been pestering me about asking to date me" Silver said emotionless of her words.

Kyle was shocked to the bone as he started sweating profusely.

"Oh, I see, you should know your place, you get, and lastly you will regret ever laying your hands on the only son of the blades family" Derrick said proudly.

"Hey Kyle, you can't be kidding right you bought me a cake of $100 and you are so proud to say it out, I never had feelings for you and just hung around you out of pity, am sorry you misinterpreted it the wrong way" Silver mocked.

The students after hearing what Silver just said, started laughing at Kyle " Can you believe this, he mistook pity for love, oh, poor Kyle".

Kyle was already in tears,"why did you do this to me Silver, I trusted you, I was ready to give you my all is this how you want to pay me back, Derrick don't love you his a play boy we all know this" Kyle tried to use words to persuade her.

"Kyle stop it before I do something" Silver shouted in anger, she turned her back against him, please leave Kyle and forget about me.

"Hey baby" Derrick said kissing her lips, "you don't need to worry about him, I will get back at him later for spoiling this evening for us, Mr Kyle you heard her you can leave".

"Okay, Silver, thanks for the time we spent together, I will leave since that is what you want, but remember this day and moment, you will forever regret this day, Fear my return, I will make plenty of money so that you will beg me while kneeling down" Kyle said.

"Hahahaha, do you all hear him, sorry but that only happen in movies" Derrick taunted.

"Do you even know who Derrick family is" Silver said looking at Kyle with disgust.

"Then wait to see it in real life" Kyle responded to Derrick looking at everybody present as they where recording him with their phone before walking out.

"I thought that only happens in Dragon sly novels" a student said.

Kyle walked out dejectedly, "I might be laughed out today and mocked by everyone, but no one knows what tomorrow holds"

In reality Kyle didn't have any idea how he would make plenty of money.

He didn't know this was a blessing in disguise, this situation was what changed his life.
