THE END OF THE WORLD 2

After a while, everyone appeared in a large mansion. After a brief exchange between the trio, they accessed their situation. The population of the united individuals in the mansion had definitely increased than the number they had left in the white room. This meant that a few others had joined them. Seems like they weren't alone in this.

The faceless creature appeared again. The grin on his face as wide as ever.

"It seems you are now worthy of knowing my name. I am Nexarion. Use it with respect."

"The second stage for qualifications to be in the scenes will now begin. Keep your strength up and don't die if you want to pass the qualifications round." With that Nexarion disappeared through the rift he had come through.

Suddenly, an alarm blared and then a voice spoke.

Survival Mode

Survive the forest of Shoggoths.

The time limit is two weeks

Personal weaponry for all surviving candidates have been unlocked.

Skill sets have been unlocked.

Survival mode starts in 5 hours.

"Sounds just like a game." Kai said.

"Personal weaponry? How did we find that?" Koby speculated.

"I'm guessing we should have windows that show us that." James said pointing at a few individuals that were bringing out weapons from rifts.

James kept silent for a while and made a slight gesture with his hand causing a rift to open and he pulled out a sword.

"How did you do that?" Koby asked

"Thought about inventory and a window appeared showing me this." James explained.

Following, Koby and Kai pulled out their weapons. Dual hatchets and a bow respectively.

Observing his bow, Kai was marvelled at the design and discovered that there was no arrows provided. Drawing his bow, energy flowed through his arm into the bow forging an energy arrow which he shit at a wall. The destructive force was surprising as it pierced a hole the in the wall.

"What's that skill called?" Koby asked.

"Moon whisper." Kai said chuckling as he watched Koby give his hatchets a little spin...

Everyone was also testing out their weapons but there were some individuals that didn't have weapons but elemental magic.

"I get the cliche sword eh?" James said a bit disappointed.

"Well if you got the sword, it must mean you got some mean sword skills, right? Kai asked.

"Level 2." James stated.

"What's yours?" Kai asked Koby.

"Dual bite, level 4." Koby replied.

"Why do you get the higher level?" Kai said patting Koby on the shoulder.

"I don't know. Just lucky I guess." Koby laughed.

Just then, someone called on Kai. The trio looked back to see, Britney, Rachael, Jugo and Raya heading towards them. Some casual friends of theirs and from their look, they had no idea what was going on. James decided to fill them in on what they had learnt so far while Koby and Kai went on to view the environment and strategize.

The mansion was a large build and Koby and Kai decided to split off to cover more ground. Walking into a room, Koby noticed the buildings structure which looked old but sturdy and there were scraps of new planks of wood littered on the floor. Koby sniffed one. It was definitely new, still had that fresh smell. The quality of the wood too was nice and hard. Just as Koby was about to leave, he was blocked by Clifford and a group of boys. He knew some as his classmates while he didn't know who the others were.

They already started making alliances. That was fast.

"Careful guys, it's the murderer." Clifford said sneering at Koby.

Taking in a deep breath, Koby assessed the situation. Clifford definitely had a grudge against him for killing Gregory and now he had already formed a group. He didn't think he could get out of his unscathed if things turned violent. In the midst of this opposition, Koby couldn't help but smile. He finally couldn't give a damn anymore.

Society's rules were lost. It was now a survival of the fittest world. Not everyone understood it yet but Koby knew this very well. He had been wishing for this for all his life. Tracing his hands, ready to bring out his weapon, he asked.

"Can you let me pass?"

"Maybe I should. But I don't feel like it." Clifford said smirking as he got closer to Koby.

Feeling threatened, Koby brought out his axes but then Clifford used a bit of energy to transform the area that Koby stood on into quick sand effectively trapping him in one place.

"Shit, I'm gonna die." Koby thought as he struggled to get out.

Just as one of the boys tried to hit Koby, a beam flew right at the group, taking out the hand of the guy. At first, the boy was oblivious to the pain. Staring in disbelief at his torn apart hand, before the screaming started. Everyone's attention was now drawn to the group but no one dared interfere for fear of being caught up with n the mishap. Everyone's beam shifted to Kai who stood at a distance, his bow ready and a smirk on his face.

"Don't tell me you're gonna die before we even get started, Koby?" Kai said unbelievably.

"Shut up." Koby laughed.

"Kill them." Clifford shouted before putting up an earthen barricade to provide cover for Kai's beams. Taking advantage of the brief distraction, Koby got loose of the sand and then proceeded to hack of the head of the boy with the already severed hand.

Holding on to the mutilated body, he tossed it at the group and ground swept one of the boys and quickly hacked off his leg. Another came from behind and with a roundhouse kick to the face, Koby disoriented him and hacked at his shoulders. In the middle of the scuffle, one had tried to behead Koby but had his head blown off by a beam.

Turning around to see Kai throwing up due to the gory scenes but still providing cover, Koby smiled and stilled his own fear. He couldn't let Kai see his fear. He had to be the strong one to hold him and James together.... With that, Koby let out a loud yell- like battle cry and jumped at the group.

Kai was trying to hold his own, firing shots where needed in order to cover Koby. Clifford was trying his best to pinpoint Kai's location as he kept moving around. He was the dangerous one here as he was a long ranged fighter and was fairly good at maneuverability.

But Clifford had been an experienced gamer in reality and knew how to handle situations like this. He made waist length earthen walls around him for quick covers and proceeded to shoot boulders at any direction arrow beams came from while trying to predict Kai's next location.

Suddenly, Kai flipped into the scuffle with Koby. Backs pressed against each other's, Kai muttered.

"I don't have defences and Clifford keeps targeting me."

"I'll cover the boulders then." Koby said grinning from ear to ear with blood dripping down his face. The first boy charged at the duo and was fired at by Kai and when Clifford tried to smash Kai with a boulder, Koby immediately turned towards it and hit it with his hatchets, effectively destroying it. He then threw one of his hatchets at Clifford who blocked it with an earthen wall, Kai shot at the wall which shattered it creating a smokescreen of dust. As soon as the dust cleared, Clifford was about to fire off another shot but stopped dead seeing Koby mid air mere centimeters away from his face with his hatchet .

"Dual bite." Koby muttered activating his skill making his hatchets glow a bright blue.

Just before anymore damage could be done,a high pitched sound wave pushed away Koby and Clifford and stunned everyone in the room.

"Do I really need to stop every fight between you two?" Rory glanced at the two boys. He stood hands in his pocket, as he looked at everyone sprawled on the ground clenching their ears in pain.

"I get that you two hate each other but we have less than two minutes before the survival mode starts. Be practical about this." He said before leaving the room

After a few seconds of getting themselves together. Kai and Koby headed out of the room to meet their group. On seeing them James, smirked.

"Already getting in trouble, eh Koby?" He said while checking out Koby's injuries.

"He'll live." Kai said.

Before anything more could be said a loud sound was heard and a notification window popped up.

Survival Mode start

Forest of Shoggoth's

There were shrieks coming from outside the mansion. They definitely didn't sound human and everyone prepared themselves for the battle, their weapons ready at hand. The shrieks stopped for a moment before a Shoggoth broke through the door of the mansion and you n seeing everyone there launched a tentacle on one of them. The tentacle had a sharp tip and it had pierced cleanly through the girl's chest. Everyone watched in horror as the light faded from her eyes. More Shoggoths stormed the mansion and everyone started the fight to stay alive.

In the midst of the chaos,a notification window popped up

Shoggoths Stampede

4 hours remaining

And the countdown began. The Shoggoths were already massacring their way through the crowd. Kai quickly entered a room and signaled the others. On entering the room, Koby closed the door and started barricading the doors with the scattered furnitures in the room.

A voice was heard outside the door. It was Britney. She had delayed and was now stuck outside.

"Open the door, please." She cried out.

Koby signalled at Kai to barricade the windows in the room. Rachael and Jugo requested Koby to unlock the door but he vehemently refused saying.

" If the door opens, we won't have enough time to barricade it and we'll all die."

"She's our friend." Rachael shouted at Koby, hitting him on the shoulder.

"Do I look like I care?!" Koby shouted back.

"It's one life over six others. And she's probably dead by now." He said pushing Rachael aside.

"Please,Koby. Let her in." Raya begged from where she leaned, tears flowing from her eyes.

"I will not risk it."

James strutted over in that instant and proceeded to punch Koby in the solar plexus, and held him down to the ground as he gasped for air and grunted in Quickly unlocking the door and letting Britney in. He locked and barricaded the door just as quickly and everyone heaved a small sigh of relief as bangings and screams were heard outside the door.

Coughing violently, Koby stood up and glared angrily at James. But it was evident that Rachael and Jugo saw Koby as a villain, ready to take James' side.

"Why'd you do that?" Koby groaned.

"You wanted to let Britney die!" Rachael shouted at Koby.

"Shut up!! You're giving me a headache." Koby glared at her. Suddenly, a tentacle pierced through Jugo's chest. Everyone tensed up and shifted their gaze to Britney, who was now bearing a monstrous form.

A tear dropped from her eye and then she grew fangs, giving her a hideous countenance. Throwing Jugo's now dead body aside, it stretched out a tentacle towards Raya but before it could hit, Kai threw a table at the tentacle deflecting it. He then proceeded to fire a shot at the monster but she was far too agile.

Pulling out his axes, Koby glared at James saying.

"If anyone dies in this room, it's on you."

James pulled out his sword ready to fight.
