“I am here to pick you up,” she muttered flatly.

Benjamin hopped in as the car zoomed off.

Meanwhile, Eva Penny was standing a few meters away. She felt a surge of anger seeing Benjamin in a car with a woman. She wondered what the lady saw in him. She hissed a sigh of frustration and disgust.

“How is your father,” Benjamin asked.

Ariana and Benjamin were both seated across from each other; he felt uneasy. The only woman he had sat with in the last few years was Nora, but sitting with Arianna felt different. Ariana was born into wealth, and she groomed herself to perfection.

”Dad is fine and doing great, better than the last few years. All thanks to you. ” she retorted, “although we are still investigating how he got poisoned.”

Benjamin sipped his drink and nodded, “That’s good to know.”

Ariana looked at him confused; she had a lot on her mind to spew. She didn’t know how to say them without getting Benjamin upset. “Do you like the wine?” She inquired.

“Yeah,”

She shifted forward, “Mr Scott, can I ask you for a favour?”

He raised his brow, “Go ahead.”

Suddenly, Terry Davis, the son of Davis’s group, stepped toward their table. He had been watching them from behind, with a hint of jealousy on his face. He wondered what Benjamin had that he didn’t. He had tried on several occasions to win Ariana’s heart over but had failed on each attempt.

“Ariana,” he called.

Ariana’s expression changed; she knew how arrogant and cocky he could be.

“What are you doing here, alone?” Terry asked, trying to deny the fact that he didn’t see someone across from her.

Benjamin furrowed furiously but kept mute as he continued to enjoy his meal.

“Can’t you see I am with someone, are you blind?” She scoffed.

“Oh! I didn’t notice it. Where did you find him? He looked like someone who hadn't eaten for days.” He smiled, “Hey, dude, you should leave now. I want to have a discussion with the beautiful lady.”

Customers from the surrounding tables had begun to notice the commotion.

“Is that not Ariana long? What is she doing with that man?”

“Where is he from? He should be thrown out of here.”

“What could they be doing together? Ariana is classy for such a dude.”

“How dare you talk to Mr. Scott that way? You should stay away from us. I don’t want trouble.”

Terry rolled his hand on his hair and then mouthed, “The only person causing trouble here is this man; I am trying to protect you from him. Can’t you see he is trying to deceive you; he is after your money. Come to me, I have more things to offer you than this man will ever dream of having.”

Benjamin emptied the wine into the glass and smashed it into Terry’s face. The young man fell back, and the crowd gasped in shock. Ariana’s mouth was agape; she wasn’t expecting much from Benjamin, even if Terry deserved it.

Terry managed to get to his feet, with his hand clutched to his head. His men rushed forward when they saw their master’s clothes stained with blood.

Who dares to offend someone from the Davis family?

“You crooked,” he screamed. “Do you know what you have done, I will make sure you don’t leave here alive.” He took his phone to make a call.

“You shouldn’t have done that,” Ariana whispered. She was worried about Benjamin; her family might be bigger than Terry’s family, but his father is said to own a gang in Morristown.

“He started it; you don’t have to worry about anything. I can handle them.” He said with full confidence.

Benjamin sat down and gulped down the remaining wine.

Terry came back, his eyes blazing in fury. “You are not escaping unscathed. I will make sure your limbs are broken before killing you?”

Ariana glared at Terry, “You should stay away from Mr. Scott. He is my guest.” She warned.

“Shut up, bitch.” He said with gritted teeth, “This is all your fault; I will make sure your guest gets the treatment he deserves.”

Benjamin shot Terry a cold and menacing glance. “You had better apologise to her or this might be your worst day ever.”

“Who is this dude? Where is his confidence coming from?”

“He should apologise before Jeffery and his gang show up.”

His confidence will die when he gets what he deserves; he will beg for Mr Davis’s mercy when the time is right.”

Suddenly, a sharp voice echoed across the hall. Six men stormed forward. They stood tall and kept a stern expression. The leader Jeffrey Perry, also known as Snake, had a tattoo covering his arms.

His presence was commanding and scary. The customers felt nothing but pity for Benjamin. They knew Jeffery wouldn’t leave without accomplishing his task. Jeffery was raised by his father after the death of his mother. His father was a gang member of the Blue Snakes gang. He lost his father when he was just 12 years old. And was left to raise himself. He grew up fighting for himself and running errands for underworld bosses. It was his determination to succeed that got him to where he was.

“That’s him.” Terry pointed at Benjamin.
