Chapter 5

Chapter 5

“Oh no everyone, he is a retired soldier. He might perhaps know the cleaner working for the Dragon General, so maybe the connection can help in his dreams.”

“I bet the cleaner doesn’t even wanna associate with him because he’s of no benefit at all.”

“Problem solver should probably solve his own problems first.”

They kept taunting him with mockery words.

Avon knew who they saw him as, he knew how worthless of him they think. So he said nothing in defense of their jeers, and walked out of there in silence.

Getting outside he brought out his phone calling his assistant. The latter picked on the first ring of the call.

“Hello, General.”

“I want you to send invitations to the Hales’s family for the party right now.” He said to him on the phone.

“Noted, General.”

And then the line went dead, Avon smirked at no one but himself before turning back and walking inside.

Inside the villa.

“So back to you Lorraine, before your useless husband interrupted me with his filthy laugh.” Abigail’s head turned over to where Lorraine was seated.

“I would get everyone of you an invitation to this party if Lorraine get chased out of this household.” Her eyes shunned with hatred pointing her fingers at her.

“Actually there’s something we can do.” The handsome fat man, Abigail’s husband, Sean spoke up since he had gotten amidst them.

Everyone looked at him, expecting him to expatiate on what he meant by that statement. “I have a little brother, and if you’re willing to give Lorraine out to him, then I will have more invitations given to you guys.”

Gasps erupted from everyone immediately he made that statement. Would he really get an invitation for them all?

Everyone was surprised, except for Lorraine of course. And his little brother is part of the Great Five, so that would mean a permanent opportunity to work with the Great Five for them.

They believed him, they knew he could get the invitation because his family is part of the Great Five. It’s an easy task for them.

“This is actually a great idea,” Charlotte pondered from where she is, and so is everyone in the rest of the family.

Just then Avon walked back in, meeting the family in a pondering situation and seeming to be having a thought over a decision.

“Lorraine would be marrying your little brother then.” Vance spoke up.

“Yes, we should arrange a meeting for them now.” Charlotte agreed.

“No!!! I’m married for the sake of Lord, I’m fucking married.” Lorraine defended angrily from where she is.

How can they let her stand there and dictate her life for her, they want her gone and she’s gone and married to a man that makes her happy.

But the greed of what they can get with her new appearance made them want her back, how cruel can they get more. She just wants to be happy, all her husband asked for in return is a chance to prove himself.

Lorraine can’t help but think his husband is one of the Great Five, having visited his villa once and the kind of life she lived with him during the three days they spent together. Lorraine knew or had guess her husband isn’t just any retired poor soldier.

“You will not question our decision, Lorraine!” Charlotte immediately flared up at her daughter.

“You decision is irrational!” Lorraine shouted back at her.

“How dare you!”

Lorraine immediate she saw Avon jerked up from her seat, she already knows what her family would do, and she’s sick of it. She’s tired of them driving her around and relieving her of no control over her life.

She walked away from amidst them and went to where Avon is, intertwining her arm with his, while massaging his covered bicep gently.

“This is my true husband,” Lorraine confirmed with a different voice that sounded cold and firm, “I shall not marry anybody else, regardless of the benefits to you. It’s obvious you all don’t need me in this house anymore, you’ve never consider me as one of you, but all of a sudden you all do, and wants me off again. I would be leaving now with my true husband, and I won’t be getting married to anybody.” She clarified to them all in a deep tone, her face holding no expression as she spoke to her family in such voice.

All faces were stupefied on Lorraine addressing them all with a voice like that, she’s always emotional and has never being that firm.

Lorraine turned around with her husband marching out of the villa.

“Lorraine!” Her cousin, Abigail called out to her after taking short steps away from them, halting them from moving forward and out of the house.

“Who exactly do you think you are? A queen perhaps because of your new look, but that doesn’t make you any less a selfish bitch. This family have bred you despite your misfortune and this is how you repay us. Choosing a worthless husband that’s of no use to this family, over one that’ll be of great help to us all, mainly to you because you’re the one getting married to him. You’re so stupid and ridiculous.”

“She’s getting marry to your little brother.” Charlotte asserted just after Abigail finish speaking.

“Yes, and there’s nothing she can do about it.” Royce also agreed.

“This is for the betterment of our family, she won’t jeopardize that chance.” Oscar also put in to what is being said.

“And my final decision is,” Lennox finally spoke up from where he’s seated and watching everything unfold in his eyes, “Lorraine is getting married to the Parker’s family and that’s final.”

Upon hearing this Lorraine flared up angrily, “No! No!!!!!!” She screamed out angrily. She felt so rejected, that her family won’t even consider what she wants or her say in their decision. She separated herself away from Avon turning back to her family.

“My husband is Avon Cadensky,” she said, calling Avon the name he had told her and everyone else in the family when he was asked who he is.

He hid is identity well, because Avon Cadensky was originally a poor retired soldier that has nothing in the class. He purposely didn’t reveal his last name, Barksdale, that would not only spark suspicion, but have the enemies that once cleared his family out back again. He wanted to kill them all after he revealed who he is.

“And I shall marry no man, no living man except for him. If it’s too hard for your brain to understand, deal the fuck with it.”

Abigail began clapping her hands, she did it four times before tilting her head dramatically at Lorraine. “Bravo! Bravo!” She commented sarcastically.

“You know, maybe we shouldn’t let her actually marry into the Parker’s family.” Abigail said all of a sudden, raising confusion amidst the family.

“Yes, her luck is already stained with that thing she’s married to.” She added, her tone hinting off disgust at the end of her statement.

“Abigail is right, she has always been worthless just like the husband she decided to marry. The least needed in this family are useless people.” Lorraine can’t believe her own mother would join to humiliate her.

“I do pity her though, all her life and forever of no use,” Vance added with a chuckle.

“I only pity that she’s married to a worthless human being just like herself.”

“Looking at it, they both fitted with each other honestly, a vain human being with another. A perfect wretched love story.”

They all began mocking her and her husband, humiliating the shit out of her.

Lorraine stood and hear all this insult hurled at her, the fact that she thought she would get their love when her look changed broke her heart.

Tears stung at the corner of her eyes, they flowed freely down her cheeks. She cried with desperation for all to be stopped. She just wanted a family that would accept her, why can’t they just do that for her?!

“Enough!” Avon snapped with his gaze lowered at Charlotte; Lorraine’s mother in particular.

“So you all want me to believe that you’re better than us?” It was a rhetorical question, and he was referring to him and his wife.

“And you,” he pointed at Charlotte. “Treating your very own daughter like she meant nothing to you, the fact that you won’t defend your own daughter because of money.” Avon spelled out the obvious.

“And you all are no better than a greedy beggar, that would do anything to get money.” Avon reprimanded with fierceness in his eyes.

“Only a fool and a poor pig like you doesn’t know the value of money.” Abigail was quick to throw a response.

“I mean what’s expected from a shameless person who I guess has never holds thousands of cash in his hands before.” She added laughingly.

“The audacity he even had to denounce us like that.” Oscar stood up with visible anger on his face. He was glaring hard at Avon.

“Apart from a wretched beggar, he’s proven to be not only an arrogant fool, but a stupid bastard!” Charlotte joined in cursing horribly bad at Avon.

The whole family cursed badly at him the more.

The moment was interrupted when a beautiful woman dressed in a suit came in, everyone stopped talking directing their gaze at her.

“Sir,” she bowed in front of Avon when she got to him, “Here are the invitations you asked for.” She brought out the envelope stretching it to Avon with her head bowed still.

“I don’t need those, give it to them.” Avon pointed at Lorraine’s family.

“Yes, Boss.” The woman got the message not to refer him as General in front of them all yet or anyone In fact until the announcement that he’s back is known. She moved forward and away from Avon, going in front of the oldest in the family. She dropped the envelope in front of Lennox.

The shock on everyone’s faces cannot be described, including Lorraine’s. .

Who exactly is the husband she’s married to? Who?
