In this world, humans came across deserted settlements with odd-shaped structures and the remains of various civilizations.

From these oddly shaped structures, humans found supernatural artifacts and knowledge about magic, which far exceeded everyone’s imagination.

And they knew that there was more than this in this world.

So, they set their sight on exploring the entire world.

It wasn’t easy to explore Eryndon, however, and only magicians could venture into the dangerous wilderness of this world, searching and acquiring knowledge and never seen before artifacts.

“My back hurts. Ugh, I think I am probably bleeding, but it’s not too painful. Hopefully, it’s only a skin wound and not something serious.”

Finn’s head lowered in disappointment as he increased his pace to reach home faster.

He didn’t expect to get injured just before the entrance examination of the magician academy.

The injury happened at the worst possible time.

Maybe he should have kept his mouth close and endure their taunts for one more day.

Nay, he did what a man should do.

No backing down in the face of danger!

Several minutes later, he reached his home and entered the room that was allocated to him by the association after his parents died under the claws of beasts while on a mission, or so that’s what the agent of the magician association has told him.

The apartment provided to him by the magician association was neither too big nor too small, just enough for a bed, few sofas, bookshelf, drawers, and studying desk to fit. Because his parents died in a mission issued by the association and he had no relatives to speak of and to add the fact that he was a magician, the association graced him with this place.

A few moments later, once he took off his jacket and white shirt to check the severity of the wound on his back, his eyes widened as he saw fresh blood on the back of both of them, and he moved to the mirror placed in the bathroom to see his bloodied back.

Kael’s vicious attack has torn the skin on his back, making him think that it’s probably because of adrenaline that kept the full assault of pain from knocking him out.

He gritted his teeth, thinking that Kael assaulted him with his ability to cripple him.

Thankfully, Quinn interfered or he would have ended up in the hospital.

“That damn vicious jerk. I hope he’s having a good time in the pothole.” Finn cursed with a clenched fist.

He was angry but couldn’t do anything about it as he was too weak to win a fight against an awakened magician.

Finn shook his head, throwing thoughts related to the menace to the back of his head, and pulled open his drawers, searching for something like an ointment to apply and another thing that won’t let his blood go to waste.

“Found it. The artifact of the mysterious civilization.”

Inside the drawer, there was an egg-shaped rock with a red surface and black dots, looking at which his eyes couldn’t help but brighten up in glee and the light of hope.

There was a high chance that this stone could pull him out of the ridiculous life of dejection and pull him towards a life of glory as it was something his parents got from the ruins of a deserted base of the mysterious civilization and gave it to him, thinking it’s a useless stone before their death.

“Everyone is fighting for such things. Who could have ever thought that one such artifact is in my hand? And, today I am going to find out what it does.”

This stone, when he found it, was black, and it was only after a tiny accident that he found out that this was something extraordinary.

“I, the trial challenger, Finn Sorren, am here to conquer the first trial of the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight!”

Ding!

A transparent screen with the information about the trial appeared before Finn. What he must do to complete the trial was stated inside the screen.

Wind fueled the flame, making them reach the sky.The clouds above the emerald Mountain scattered, and even the dark skies got lit up by the flames.Finn, Adrian, and John stood in the center of the arena, patiently waiting for the number of the participants to dwindle. The golden hand above their heads protected them from the shockwaves of the battles being taken place in the arena.“Shouldn’t we be doing something?” John asked in a loud voice as the booming sounds of explosions, as well as the clanking sounds of swords clashing against spears, were coming from the surrounding areas and making it harder for one to hear words spoken out of another person’s mouth.Finn shook his head, an action he norm

The thing was, he didn’t know anything about the conditions he needed to fulfill to get them.Since it was useless to him right now, he kicked all thoughts related to it to the back of his head before saying the keywords to extract a harmful amount of life force from Linda, but not enough for her to rapidly age and gain wrinkles and white hair.Finn nodded with a partially satisfied look on his face before he converted the enchantment on his hand back into the essence of life. The golden glow and the hexagonal tattoos on his hand vanished, turning into wisps of energy that seeped inside his palm.“So, where were we?” He turned to look at his surroundings with a look of wonderment on his face.“You actually hit her?” Many beta males were surprised to see that Finn slapped a beautiful woman hard on the face, and they couldn’t help but look at him in disbelief.Finn

From the very start, he wasn’t aiming to harm her physically! No! He never wanted to kill her! He was just playing with her mind, and she had foolishly succumbed to his words and ended up playing out the act he wrote for her. Yes, from the very start, she was merely acting out the script he prepared to destroy her life! For him, killing her was letting her off too easy! He wanted to destroy her mentally! He wanted to stomp all over her pride and crush her arrogance so badly that she won’t consider bothering others for the rest of her life. Now, however, you gotta say goodbye to this wonderful world and die.”Out of Linda’s eyes, tears streamed out, flowing down her cheeks and to each corner of her chin like a waterfall.“I hope you won’t be an ignorant person who picks a fight with a being that can determine their life and death in your next life if there is any life for a person like you,” Finn said before swinging the ball of obliteration at Linda. The eyes of most of the onlookers widened, and they stood up from their seats, finding it hard to believe that he seriously did that! Finn’s gaze swept past the participants on stage, giving them a warning that they will be eating the last cake of their life if they dared to make even a single move. The other participants didn’t dare to make a move as the ball in Finn’s hand could kill any one of them, and they didn’t want to attract his ire, after all. Although it was shameful for them to silently follow the command of a magician in the magical realm, their pride, arrogance, and shame meant nothing compared to their life. They weren’t willing to act out, just to lose their life as not only were they too young to die, but they believed that they would be able to teach Finn a lesson after the ball of obliteration leaves his side. After waning them, Finn moved his gaze to the target of his craziness. The targets of his black-gold gaze felt an overbearing pressure crashing down on their backs, and they felt horrified, suppressed, and intimidated to the point where their legs gave up.Linda and her friends collapsed to

By the time the blinding silver shine dies, there will be no traces left of Finn in this world! There was no way a hillbilly was going to survive the attack of a princess like her, after all!Suddenly, all such thoughts in her mind came crashing down as the calm and taunting voice of the man she wanted to obliterate sounded out of the bright silver glow, reaching everyone’s ears, surprising Linda to the point her eyes widened so much that her eyeballs threatened to pop out of their sockets.“Oh, really?
