The crimson glare of the four corrupted visors bled through the high mountain fog.

The Lead Sentinel, its towering white-gold shield raised, took a heavy step toward Japh. The ground shuddered beneath its weight. "Traitors to the Founder... purge the impostor."

Before the giant stone broadsword could complete its descent, Japh activated the Aeon-Strider Plate.

Flash.

The world instantly ground to a halt. To Japh's heightened senses, the three-ton broadsword hung motionless in mid-air, moving at the speed of a falling leaf. The heavy fog froze into floating droplets of glass. Leaving behind a faint golden-blue after-image of himself standing on the cliff edge, Japh blurred forward.

Do not shatter their cores, boy! Zeus’s voice thundered inside his skull. The corruption travels on a broadcast signal. Sever the link, do not destroy the vessel!

Japh wove between the frozen strikes of the three elite guards. His eyes scanned the heavy armor plating on the Lead Sentinel’s back until he located the nape-junction receiver—a small, glowing blue socket where the ancient command matrix connected to its central core. It now flickered with a violent, toxic red light.

Japh condensed his divine voltage into a single, needle-thin beam at his fingertip.

Crack!

He jabbed the localized shock directly into the receiver socket. The red light violently sputtered. The Lead Sentinel groaned, its massive limbs stiffening as the overload forced an emergency system reboot. The giant construct crashed forward onto its knees, its visor dimming into absolute darkness.

Moving like a streak of lightning, Japh repeated the surgical strike three times in the span of a single second.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The remaining three elite guards collapsed into motionless stone heaps on the cliff edge.

Japh skidded to a halt, his breathing fast, but his body completely untired thanks to the kinetic dampening of the Aeon-Strider suit. He looked down at the dark ley-lines pulsing beneath the stone floor. The dark red virus wasn't just infecting these four constructs—it was broadcasting through the bedrock across the entire city matrix.

"The refuge," Japh gasped, his blood running cold. "Lira!"

Japh blurred through the subterranean tunnels, his suit leaving a trail of shimmering blue lightning in the pitch-black corridors.

He burst into the central vault of the refuge just as a deafening crash echoed off the stone walls. Three massive Terra-Sentinels, their visors burning with the malicious crimson virus, smashed through the improvised iron barricades.

Refugees screamed, scrambling back into the cold corners of the cavern. Elder Tomas stood in front of Lira, his wooden staff raised uselessly against the stone giants.

"Purge the non-compliant," the lead corrupted Sentinel echoed, raising a massive stone hammer over the cornered villagers.

"Get away from them!"

Japh materialized directly between the villagers and the advancing constructs. He drove the butt of the double-headed celestial spear deep into the cavern floor, unleashing a concentrated wave of divine voltage downward.

Instead of a destructive blast, the electricity spread across the damp floor like a glowing web, forming an Electromagnetic Static Grid.

The gold-and-blue voltage surged up the legs of the three corrupted Sentinels. The static charge locked their kinetic joints instantly, freezing the massive stone soldiers in place without damaging their central divine cores. They strained against the invisible magnetic restraint, their crimson visors flickering madly, but they couldn't move an inch.

"Japh!" Lira cried out, rushing forward from behind Elder Tomas.

"Stay back," Japh warned, maintaining the flow of voltage into the floor. "The virus is hijacking their command signal. I can hold them, but I can't leave this floor while the broadcast is active."

Elder Tomas hurried over, clutching an unrolled, yellowed parchment. "Japh, look at these! I found the old Empire maintenance ledgers in the cold-preservation archives!"

The old man held up the map, pointing to intricate diagrams of the city's underbelly. "The purple canopy on the surface—it's fed by four primary energy conduits rooted deep in the dark aqueducts beneath the city! If you disrupt those conduits from below, the barrier will collapse without you having to fight through the surface army!"

"The dark aqueducts..." Japh murmured. "We can bypass the canopy entirely."

"Yes," Elder Tomas nodded. "But the water channels are flooded and sealed. You'll have to go in with a small team."

Japh turned to form a strike plan, but Lira suddenly gasped, grabbing his arm. The silver plating of his Aeon-Strider suit hummed violently, and the runic marks on his forearms began to burn with a dark, sickening heat.

"Japh, your arms..." Lira whispered, terror in her voice. "They're reacting to something!"

He knows you are here, descendant, Zeus warned, his voice grim. The parasite is searching for its true host.

Before Japh could answer, a raspy, multi-layered voice echoed directly inside his head, vibrating through the cavern walls like grinding metal:

"Do you feel it, little boy from Kornite?"

The voice belonged to the High Warlord, but it was layered with the guttural, unnatural hiss of the dark parasite.

"You think I am trying to unseal a master? I HAVE BECOME THE MASTER!"

A terrifying shockwave ripped through the bedrock beneath the refuge.

"I do not need to break your little barrier," the Warlord-Parasite entity echoed, laughing with insane delight. "I am already drinking the blood of this continent!"

The center of the vault floor split wide open with a sickening crunch.

A colossal, nightmarish tendril made of pulsating organic black mass and fused iron armor punched upward through the stone, shattering the cavern ceiling. Rock and debris rained down as the massive tendril swept across the chamber, smashing the stone pillars and pulling the entire room down toward the roaring abyss of the Sunken Palace below.

"The Prime Founder demands the retrieval of the extinction asset."From the shadows of the bow, Japh's eyes burned not with cold godhood, but with sharp, tactical focus."Not today," Japh whispered.Flash.Utilizing the 5\times speed multiplier of the Aegis armor, Japh blurred forward. There was no warmth, no memory, no trace of the boy who had scavenged scrap metal to buy her bread in Kornite. To the divine consciousness inhabiting his frame, she was merely a strange mortal breathing his air."Identify yourself, mortal," Japh intoned, his voice layered with the distant, booming thunder of an ancient storm god.Tears spilled down Lira's dust-streaked cheeks. Threads of pure solar light wove around her right forearm, hardening into a sleek, ancient arc-gun forged from celestial white gold and etched with solar runes.A wall of black, parasitic tendrils surged down the flooded tunnel toward her.
