The silver plating of the Aeon-Strider suit ground against Japh’s skin like crushing teeth.

Pinned on one knee, Japh watched the world slow down as a crimson wave of thorny, parasitic tendrils hurtled across the balcony straight toward Lira. His father’s cold, proud laughter echoed off the ancient marble, carried on the violet pulse of Ancestral Override: Sequence Zero.

Sequence Zero bound the blood. It bound the Founder lineage. It bound the mortal frame.

Foolish child, Zeus’s voice thundered, rattling the deepest chambers of Japh's mind like a divine war hammer. You fight a mortal blood-lock with mortal effort! Your father commands the blood of his ancestors—but you carry the thunder of the heavens! Bypassing the flesh!

Japh stopped fighting the suit's mechanical deadlock. He stopped trying to force his muscles to move.

Instead, he turned his focus entirely inward, reaching past his Founder bloodline and diving straight into the pulsing, golden core anchored beside his heart. He did not channel the energy through his nervous system. He ignited it.

BOOM!

A raw, unrefined thunderclap detonated directly from Japh’s chest.

A blinding arc of golden-blue voltage surged outward, completely overloading the Aeon-Strider Plate's silver conduits with a divine frequency that eclipsed his mortal lineage. The violet ancestral signal shattered like glass. The mechanical joints of the speed suit unlocked in a shower of white-hot sparks.

Flash.

Activating the 5x kinetic acceleration, Japh blurred across the balcony. He materialized directly in front of Lira, the double-headed celestial spear spinning in a blinding arc.

The white-gold blade sheared clean through the wave of parasitic tendrils. Black, foul-smelling liquid sprayed across the stone, instantly vaporized by the heat of Japh’s aura.

The High Warlord’s cold smile vanished, replaced by a dark, murderous sneer. "You dare deny your own lineage?"

"You sacrificed my mother for power," Japh said, his voice ringing with a terrifying, dual-layered resonance. "You aren't my father. You're just another monster in the ruins."

Realizing he couldn't protect Lira while standing on an open balcony against an escalating assault, Japh raised his spear toward the lower archways. He released a tight, rhythmic signal pulse through the stone floor.

Two uncorrupted, white-gold Terra-Sentinels burst from the lower halls, their heavy tower shields raised.

"Command verified," the lead Sentinel boomed. "Protecting primary asset."

"Take Lira into the lower structural vaults!" Japh ordered, his eyes never leaving the Warlord. "Form a defensive perimeter and lock the gates!"

"Japh, no!" Lira cried as the giant stone constructs gently encircled her, ushering her toward the secure inner halls. "Don't leave me!"

"I'm ending this," Japh said softly.

Across the plaza, the High Warlord threw his head back, letting out a distorted, multi-layered roar. Enraged by the broken blood-lock, he released his grip on his iron sword and allowed the black parasite attached to the extraction rig to flood his body.

Organic-metal tendrils fused violently into his dark armor, twisting his spine and expanding his frame into a sprawling, grotesque monstrosity anchored directly to the central power rig.

"Then perish in the dark, boy!" the mutated Warlord screeched, his human face partially buried beneath pulsating black scales.

Japh didn't engage the giant beast on the surface. He knew the barrier, the virus, and the monster’s endless regeneration were all powered by the subterranean energy matrix below.

Without a second thought, Japh turned and plunged headfirst off the balcony, diving straight into the pitch-black, flooded mouth of the dark aqueducts.

The subterranean water channels roared with rushing, ice-cold currents.

Navigating the pitch-black tunnels using the glowing blue runes of his Aeon-Strider Plate, Japh moved through the flooded aqueducts like a kinetic torpedo. When he triggered his 5x speed multiplier underwater, the kinetic shockwaves blew away corrupted aquatic traps and fallen masonry before they could touch his armor.

Ahead, a massive subterranean vault illuminated the dark water with a harsh, violet glare.

It was the First Energy Conduit. A massive, crystal pillar pulsating with dark power, feeding the Null-Aegis Canopy on the surface.

Japh burst out of the water, landing silently on the stone rim of the conduit chamber. He raised the celestial spear, compressed his divine voltage into a needle-thin point, and thrust the blade straight into the crystal’s core.

CRACK!

The crystal shattered into millions of inert shards.

Far above on the surface, the dark purple canopy visibly flickered, and a wave of corrupted, crimson-eyed Sentinels shuddered as their broadcast signal weakened.

Japh drew a breath, turning to locate the remaining three conduits mapped on Elder Tomas's ledger. But as he looked down the flooded pipeline, the fluid inside the remaining three distant conduit vaults suddenly shifted color.

The dark purple light vanished, replaced by a thick, glowing crimson red.

A raspy, echoing projection of his father’s voice vibrated through the rushing water pipes, laughing with insane triumph:

"Did you really think I used simple ley-lines to build this battery, Japh?"

Japh’s grip on his spear tightened, a cold knot forming in his stomach.

"The four conduits don't just hold energy," the Warlord’s voice hissed through the dark tunnels. "They hold what was left of your mother. I bound Aris Lohrenetia's soul to this city's bedrock eons ago. Her life-force is the anchor keeping the matrix alive!"

The crimson fluid in the pipes pulsed like a heartbeat, vibrating with a gentle, terribly familiar warmth that resonated directly with Japh’s divine core.

"Shatter the remaining three nodes if you wish, my son," his father taunted, his voice echoing from every wall. "Collapse my barrier... but to do it, you must murder your mother's soul with your own hands."
