William ran back quickly as he was excited that he had successfully reached the rescue team before the radio battery died.

When he arrived back at the shore, he was shocked to see the helicopter flying away.

He jumped around like a mad man trying to get their attention, but they were far gone and couldn’t see him.

He couldn’t believe he was left behind. His legs became weak and he dropped to his knees in despair “No…No…please come back”

Since the response team believed they had rescued everyone, no one was coming back for him. People would think he died in the crash.

Tears ran down his face as he clenched his fists in anger. He knew Scarlett and the others had purposely left him behind.

He pounded his fist on the ground. “I am going to survive this and return to make them pay!”

William spent the next six months on the island struggling to stay alive.

There were times he came across highly venomous snakes and barely survived.

Some days he went completely hungry.

William was taking a nap when he felt something on his head.

He snapped his eyes open to see a dangerous looking man pointing a rifle at his skull.

Looking around, they were men dressed in uniform all around him. They were soldiers of the Legolas Army.

“Pick him up!”

William was dragged to their commander in chief, General Ryker.

General Ryker was huge. He was around 6 foot three in height.

He had a grey moustache and a scruffy beard. He had the reputation of the most feared and merciless men in the Legolas Army.

“Sir we found this man camped nearby. He must be a spy.” one of the officers informed the general.

The Legolas army had recently received information that some enemy spies were trying to infiltrate their ranks.

Unfortunately for William, they had found him on the island which was one of their training locations.

William’s throat tightened. Who were these people? Why did they say he was a spy?

The General took a hard look at William. “Torture him till he confesses who he works for.”

“Please” his voice broke. “I'm not a spy. I swear…”

One of the soldiers gave William a hard punch to the stomach, causing him to fall to the ground groaning in pain.

They picked him up and tied him to a tree. For the next three days he went without food and water.

The nights were extremely cold and while the soldiers slept close to a fire, he had to stay there stuck to the tree.

After the three days had passed, the general returned for William’s confession.

“Are you ready to finally say the truth, what army do you belong to?” He questioned.

William felt very weak. Days of hunger and thirst had taken a toll on him.

His lips had dried up but he still managed to speak. “I swear… I don't belong to any army. I-I just got stranded here by chance.”

The general’s face twisted with anger. “I can see you are a stubborn one. Bring the branding iron!”

One of the soldiers returned with an iron rod. They had left it in a fire until it had become red hot.

William’s face went pale when he saw one of the soldiers coming towards him with the rod.

He struggled to free himself from the ropes but it was no use.

William’s voice trembled with fear. “What…What are you planning to do with that?”

“Ahhhh!!!!!!.......Ahhhh….!!!!” William screamed in pain as the iron was pressed into his skin, burning his flesh.

“Please! Ahhhh!!! I'm not a spy!” He continued to plead as his skin sizzled.

The general realizing William adamant about not being a spy asked them to stop. “Enough.”

“Fine. If you're not a spy. Tell me in detail how you got here. If I sense a lie in your story, you will suffer unimaginable pain before I finally kill you.”

William told the general everything that happened to him including the inheritance and how he was stranded on the island.

“Cut him loose.” The general ordered, he seemed to have believed William’s story.

William tried to stand but quickly fell to the ground. All the energy had left his body.

The general stroke his beard as he thought of what to do. “The rule states that anyone who is not a member of the Legolas army found here must be killed.”

William heart sank. “Please have mercy! I don't want to die. Not until I have gotten my revenge.”

A serious expression formed on General Ryker’s face. “There is only one way out for you.”

William’s voice cracked with desperation. “What do I need to do?”

Roland nodded, a bit surprised. “I wasn’t sure if she would.” William chuckled. “I know Scarlett. I knew she’d never be able to stand seeing William outdo her. Her pride won’t allow her to.” “I guess you’ll be awarding the contract to her now?” Roland asked. William’s eyes narrowed, he walked towards to his home bar picking out a bottle of whiskey. “Not yet. I still want to push her a little bit more.” A confused expression was drawn on Roland’s face. “What do you mean?” “EdgeSpin is going to be making another bid of 15 billion.” William replied. Roland’s eyes widened. “What? For her to match that, she’ll need to risk more than half of her company’s networth. Will she really be willing to do that?” William sat back on his leather seat, staring into the air as he took a sip of his whiskey. “Don’t worry. She will.” he said confidently. [Grey Industries]

She had always wanted to make Grey Industries greater. Was she really going to just let this chance slip by? She was still in thought when her intercom buzzed and her secretary’s voice came through. “Ma’am there’s someone here to see you.” Scarlett frowned. She wasn’t expecting anyone. “Who is it?” she asked. “He says he’s the CEO of a company named EdgeSpin.” her secretary replied. Scarlett’s eyes widened. The CEO of Edgespin? Why did he want to see her? “Alright. You can let him in.” Some minutes later, her office door opened and a man in a grey suit stepped inside. Immediately she saw him, her expression turned sour. “You???” she blurt

“We’re prepared to publicly announce the project.” Roland said as he walked into William’s office. William nodded. “Good. [ Grey Industries. ] “Ma’am, Project Contrl has been officially announced by Knight Industries.” Scarlett’s secretary informed her in her office. Scarlett smiled inwardly, she was sure that with her relationship with Asher Knight, he was surely going to choose Grey Industries as the official partner. “Have there been any information about the company they plan to award the 30% stake to?” she asked. “Yes, Ma’am.” her secretary replied. Scarlett smiled expecting the next name to come out of the secretary’s mouth to be Grey Industries. “It’s a company called EdgeSpin. I hear they are in advance talks t

She stepped out and immediately saw Asher Knight waiting for her. He looked effortlessly handsome in a dark navy suit, no tie, just the right hint of charm and mystery. Scarlett looked around confused . “I thought we were having dinner? I don’t think there are any restaurants around here.” “We are.” William said with a charming chuckle. “I wanted us to have a private dinner on my yacht.” Asher led her to his yacht where a romantic dinner setup was waiting for them. The floor was littered with beautiful roses, and lavender candles all over. Scarlett felt like a princess as he pulled her chair for her. “Isn’t this a bit too much for a first date?” she asked casually. “Well,” William said as he took his seat. “I have never brought any woman on my yacht before, you are a special woman and deserve a special first date.” Scarlett couldn’t h

Dozens of booths from industry giants filled the room. The latest innovations in logistics, real estate, tech, AI and more were all around. Some of these innovations weren’t even accessible to the public yet. Eventually she found herself near a lounge area where she drank a glass of champagne as she glanced over some brochures. Just a few feet away from her, some men were discussing quietly, but not low enough for Scarlett not to hear their conversation. “Have you

Scarlett walked into the Grey mansion with a wide grin on her face. She tossed her purse on the sofa and spun slightly. Her joy was so much that it couldn't be contained. “Guess who just closed a huge contract worth a billion with Knight Industries?” The room went still. Sophia who was lying down reading a magazine quickly stood up straight, nearly spilling the drink on the table. Her eyes widened with interest. “Wait..What? You met Asher Knight? Did he say anything about me?” Sophia asked with eagerness. Scarlett’s smile dropped into a look of dry amusement. She folded her arms, leaning against the doorway. “No. He didn’t mention you once.” Her tone was cool, but there was a sharp edge of satisfaction in it. “I’m not even sure he remembers you… other than the fact that you almost dragged him into a scandal.” Sophia’s face turned red with annoyance as she clenched her jaw tightly. Her nostrils flared up as she was ready to fire back a sharp insult, but a single glance from
