Damien instantly chuckled lightly when he saw the expression that emerged on her face. She was shocked to see him to the point that she was almost falling off the chair she was sitting on.

“You put me there, yet you have forgotten the day of my release?” He raised a brow at her.

Freya, the lady, swallowed hard. She wanted to say something but it suddenly felt like a bone was stuck in her throat. All she could do was grip the chair handle tightly as Damien's eyes were so penetrating, like he was the Grim Reaper who had come to collect her life.

After all, she knew what she did. She was the lawyer who was helping him with the case years ago, until she decided to side with his enemies and framed him for fabricating the evidence.

She was enjoying life with the benefits she had gotten from putting him behind bars, forgetting that he would ever be released.

Smiling, Damien walked over and took a seat.

“Since I am here, I want to see how you are doing.” He said.

However, Freya knew there was more to his words. She swallowed, preparing herself as she could guess he was here for revenge. As his lawyer, not only had she disgraced him in court, she had also sent him to prison.

“If you want money, I can give you lots of it to make up for the time you spent in prison. You can use it to start over since you have nothing now.” She said self-righteously.

Damien laughed even harder this time before looking at her.

“I knew you would say such.” He uttered casually. Her face instantly darkened as she felt chills running down her spine.

The room had good conditioning; however, at the moment, none of it mattered. Freya was sweating so profusely that her suit was drenched. She began to wish that if time could be reversed, she might have left the office by now or made sure there were guards around to protect her.

That way, she would have felt calm and confident in herself. She then thought of guards by the entrance and couldn't help but curse at them for not stopping Damien or perhaps alerting her that he was coming.

Damn it! She cursed again and clenched her fist tightly above her thighs.

“Why didn’t you listen to me when I was pleading with you years ago to tell the truth?” Damien asked again.

He could still remember the look on her face. She didn’t look like she was remorseful about what she said or did, but instead, it felt like what she was saying was the truth when actually she had twisted it all.

Damien continued.

“What did the Beckham family promise you? Tell me.”

He relaxed into the chair as he asked. She didn’t respond to his first question, so he decided to enlighten her more since he knew the details.

“You knew?” Freya gasped in shock.

She never thought he would find out that she was bribed by the opposition family. Now she was very sure he had come for revenge.

However, she didn’t dare to spill the beans. Damien here might be very intimidating. She didn’t know what happened to him in prison, but compared to the Beckham family, he was nothing.

Those people were a top family no one would want to mess with even a lawyer like her. If she spilled the beans, she would definitely be dealt with.

Knowing that, she tried her best to remain calm before feigning ignorance.

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” She immediately put a frown on her face to cover up how scared she was.

“You dare to hide it from me now? You don't think I am a fool, do you? The fact that I was able to find out even though you tried to cover it up should have given you a hint.”

Damien explained while circling the spot on the handle of the chair. His aura was so domineering yet again that all the fear Freya had been trying so hard to conceal came rushing back in like a tide.

“Don’t mess with me, Freya. You won’t want to test my patience!” He added without looking at her; however, his words alone were already effective enough.

So many thoughts began to ram through Freya's head. She thought about calling the police, but even if she did, before they could get here, Damien would have killed her and left.

Though he might later be brought to justice, by then, she would be dead. She didn’t want to die. She had so much to live for. She was still young and had yet to enjoy the fruit of life for her to die so soon.

After a while battling with her thoughts, she knew he had just one way about, and that was to plead.

Her body was already trembling when she pushed the chair off and went to her knees.

“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to accuse you or frame you. Please forgive me. Show mercy, please.” Freya's lips were trembling as she spoke.

Damien remained unfazed.

“That’s not what I asked. I said, What did they offer you? Money, promotion? What was it? Tell me!” He asked, feeling disgusted. Now he was able to confirm that lawyers were actually the rotten ones.

The truth was right there before her, yet she chose to frame the innocent. He couldn't begin to imagine the number of people who had gone through such.

“I swear, it wasn’t intentional…. The Beckham family…..they…” Freya stuttered. She found herself caught up between offending Damien and the Beckham family.

She could care about the latter afterward but for now, Damien was the issue.

“They took my parents and threatened to kill them if I didn’t do what they asked. I didn’t have a choice. If I hadn’t, my parents would have been killed.”

Smack!Damien then proceeded to drop a contract document on the table. No one on the other party except Joseph saw this coming. So that was the plan Damien had all along? To use the betting contract to force them into collaborating with Vantage Materials? “What's the meaning of this?” Donald's brow arched. “Are you pulling a stunt to save yourself or what?” He growled.“Why don't you ask your son? I'm sure he knows what I am talking about!” Damien shifted his gaze to Joseph. The latter shivered as soon as he became the subject of attention.“Dad…he….” Joseph had been thinking of lies to tell his father since yesterday. He didn't sleep, and dark circles formed around his eyes because of the pressure. He never expected Damien to come at them so soon. As he stood there, he began racking his head up; after a while, he thought of something and immediately spoke up.“Last night… I was drunk. He forced me to sign it.” He pointed at Damien as he lamented.“Force you? Did I force you to lose

Soon the three of them walked back into the company. Leo and Kai had just stepped out of the elevator, intending to head to a few departments to assign new tasks to the workers, when they saw the man they thought they had chased, walking back in.Kai frowned and wanted to curse when Leo stopped him. His face paled as he looked past Aiden to the young man walking behind him. Undoubtedly, that was the same person who had beaten Lily and Joseph in front of the company the other day, which had caused a huge stir on the internet and made their stock plummet. If the man was here, didn't that mean he had something planned? Also, he was with Aiden? What the heck was going on?“Why are you stopping me from cursing that bastard to death?” Kai complained in displeasure.“Look,” Leo leaned closer to him. “You see that man behind him,” he added, not daring to point at Damien, but at least he expected Kai to know who he was referring to.“You mean that kid?” Kai sized Damien up as he spoke when Le

Bang!Bang!Bang! In less than thirty seconds, twenty-five people were sprawled all around in the room, unconscious. Some had broken legs, some broken hands. In summary, they were all in overwhelming pain and as a result, they all passed out. The others, upon seeing this, didn't dare test the waters anymore. Their numbers didn't matter; Damien was a monster who couldn't be stopped. It didn't matter if they rushed at him like a tide; none of them were able to touch his clothes.Even a few men in suits Joseph had come with, thinking they could make a difference, could do nothing.Joseph had sunk back to his chair with crushing defeat in his chest. He couldn't speak a word to motivate the others to attack. They had all lost hope, and all he could see in their eyes was fear. He wasn't any different.Smiling, Damien walked back to where he was and picked up the contract document.“I guess we are done here.” He then looked toward the dealer. Without saying a word, the man knew what was nee

Bang!“Damn it! You cheated! I can swear it. Four games, and you won all. No one can be that lucky.” Joseph stood up and slapped the dice off the table in a fit of rage. His face had become uglier than before, just as Damien had anticipated. “Why did you cheat? That wasn’t the deal!” He pointed at Damien and sneered. Though he could cheat in roulette; all he had to do was ask the dealer to spin the wheel, but in chess, if it were someone else, he would have used his hand to flip the dice to his choice of numbers. But with Damien, he couldn’t dare to do such a thing.“I won. The contract has been signed too. Now I can leave. I do not want to keep playing anymore.” Damien nodded and stood up. He looked at the dealer before continuing.“Convert the cash to chips and send the money to me.” He instructed.“No!” Joseph suddenly bellowed. Damein looked at him only to see his face had contorted with both pain and despair. “We should keep playing!” He continued through gritted teeth. His h

  • A straight win!

“What are your terms? You go first.” Joseph said, intertwining his fingers as he leaned forward, staring at Damien intently.“It’s simple. If I win, you’ll have to do whatever I want.” Damien said nonchalantly.Besides, he knew Joseph wanted him to go first so he could gauge his terms, and if they were unfavorable to him and his family, he would easily call it off.On the other hand, Joseph expected something worse, but hearing what Damien said, it didn’t seem much of a big deal to him. Besides, there was no way Damien was going to win this time. He might have a chance with the roulette games, but when it came to rolling dice, Joseph had already begun to imagine himself winning the jackpot.“My terms are, you’ll give me double the winnings. I don’t mind if you don’t have money; you can call Maya to send some. She’s your accomplice, isn’t she?”He raised a brow at him as he spat.Damein remained calm. The brat wanted the jackpot of four hundred million dollars and another, totaling ei

  • A bet contract

“You…you are cheating, aren’t you?” Joseph roared out furiously with beet-red eyes. He never thought or expected the feeling of losing would be so hurtful. Even if he lost, he should have been able to control the situation, but with Damien, he felt like he was trapped in a box.“Cheating? Coming from someone like you?”Damien raised a brow at him. “Or are you so distressed about the money you just lost that you want to falsely accuse me instead? Come on, I thought the Beckham family had a lot of money? Don’t tell me you guys have gone broke after losing just this little to me.”His eyes narrowed intently even though he was deliberately trying to provoke the other party.Joseph was so close to losing himself. The makeup he put on to cover up his bruises was slowly falling off. If people saw the printed finger marks on his cheek and knowing Damien’s character, he would definitely use it to taunt him.He decided to calm himself down instead. Subsequently, he tried his best to put on a s
