Chapter - 1 A Bartender

Patrick Holes was cleaning the glass clearfully with all his attention. If one glass broke then God knows how many slaps he will get from the manager. 

"Hey, Brainhole. Bring my usual Drink now or I will kick your ass with my expensive shoes," John, One of Patrick's college mates, arrives at the bar with his friends. 

They all laughed out loudly as it was common to humiliate him. 

When Patrick was about to give the drink to them, John put his leg forward, causing Patrick to fall and spill the drinks all over the floor.

"What the hell did you do? Who the hell even hired you!? You are just incompetent, even being a bartender doesn't suit you!" John insulted him.

John was his ex-college, who had been working in one of the most prestigious companies in the city. He would always do something that makes Patrick starve for days. 

Patrick had a difficult life,  he tried to endure every insult that his ex-college mate was telling him. Patrick never tried to talk back to him, as much as possible he was enduring the pain inside him. 

John and his other colleagues looked at Patrick with disgust in their eyes.

"You would be poor for the rest of your life!" John said and laughed at his face.“But I’m kind, I’d like to give you 500 dollars as your tip.”

Patrick was angry when he was bullied by John, but he knew he could never fight against him, just because he was a poor orphan.

But now, John will be a kind man and give him 500 dollars? That’s impossible!

Patrick said with a calm voice, “What you want me to do John, is it another poor trick?”

John laughed and said, “Hey buddy, you just misunderstand me. I know I didn’t treat you well, so I just want to compensate you, so how about you come to my room and take a sip with my friends, then 500 dollars will be yours.”

Patrick was doubtful, but 500 dollars was a lot of money for him. So he agreed, as he can't say no to the customers since he badly needed the job. If he loses this job he would have a hard time finding another job.

When Patrick goes to deliver the drink to John's VIP room. 

" With this 500 dollars, I will buy the ring for Maria and propose to her. We will finally get engaged," a small smile crept on Patrick's face. 

As he knocked on the door, a girl opened the door. 

The girl was no other but his girlfriend, Maria. She was wearing a short dress which he had gifted to her.

Patrick’s body shook, and his voice trembled too

"What are you doing here?"

He couldn’t imagine that his girlfriend would be here as she just messaged him that she’ll rest early. And…why did she wear so hot and stay in John's private room?

Maria was so shocked to see him in the bar. "What the hell are you doing in here? Are you keeping an eye on me?"

Maria felt ashamed and shocked at the same time because she never thought that she would be caught. But she couldn't give up on this poor bartender. She is having John now who will give her a luxurious lifestyle. 

"Why are you here?" Patrick asked.

"No! What are you doing here?" she asked as she felt embarrassed and wanted to cover up her face.

"Are you following me?"

"No!" Patrick answered.

"Just leave!"

"H-How how?" Patrick utters. 

"How, what?"

"How can you do this to me?" Patrick asked.

"Isn't it obvious?"

"You said you loved me?"

"You are dumb as I expected. You can easily be fooled with just one word. Do you think someone would love you? You are poor! Have some delicacy for yourself!"

Patrick looked at her with pain in his eyes and said. "But I love you. Is this how would you repay me? I gave you everything you want, I worked day and night just to support every demand you made. I bought everything that you want. My love for you is genuine,"

Patrick wanted to know why she cheated on him. 

"Why are you doing this to me?" Patrick asked.

"Stop being a cry baby. You weren't able to make her happy that's why she left you," John rubbed his hands on Maria's back. 

Patrick is mad at her, but now he was shaking in pain. He didn't know what he would do, because the only person he thought loved him was now betraying him. The pain that he was enduring was killing him inside.

John smirked and looked at Patrick, and insulted him. "You are just a poor bartender. Shame on yourself!"

"I did everything for you..." Patrick utters.

"Everything? You can't give her everything, keep in mind you are poor,"John chuckled and bit Maria's neck. 

"Please don't do this to me!"

"Beg! Beg like a dog! Even if your eyes would bleed to death. I would not be coming back to you. John can give me everything I wanted, I did not want to wish to stay with you any longer. I felt ashamed being seen with a poor bartender like you,"

Maria scrunched her nose in disgust. 

He was holding the tears that were wanting to be felled from his eyes.

"I bought you the dress that you are wearing right now. I bought it while working so hard to give you the things you wanted. How could you even do this to me!?" Patrick asked, broken-hearted.

She removed the dress and threw it on Patrick's face. "Here is your garbage dress!"

John just smirked since he was enjoying the show.

"How can you do this to me!? I gave you everything you wanted!" Patrick broke down in despair as he was asking himself why his girlfriend could do this to him.

"Can you hear something? Because I can't hear anyone speaking!" she said and laughed at him evilly.

"I gave you everything and in return you cheated on me. You are nothing but a slut," Patrick stated while his voice was shaking.

Before Patrick could even react, a pair of hands slapped him in the face. "How dare you call me that name! Now I will teach you a lesson to never love higher than your status !"

"Yes baby. Let us teach him a good lesson," John smirked and called the manager because he didn't want to see Patrick anymore. 

He felt disgusted around him and didn't want him to stay closer to him anymore. He felt like there was so much bacteria that Patrick was carrying.

"Yes, sir?" the manager immediately rushed and asked why they had called for him.

"Your staff is irresponsible and has been disrespecting my girlfriend. How could you hire a person like this!?," John angrily complains.

"I'm sorry it won't happen again, sir.."

"It better be!"

"He is lying..,"Patrick didn't complete his sentence and before that the manager slapped him in the face. 

"Shut up, you asshole. Don't you dare to utter a word. You are fired now!"
