The old Nightingale estate stood beneath the moonlight like a monument to everything Adrian had spent years trying to escape.

The iron gates were open . That was the first thing he noticed.

They should have been locked. The estate had been abandoned for years, and yet tonight, the path leading toward the mansion had been freshly cleared.

Adrian stopped his car several meters from the entrance.

He didn't get out immediately.

His eyes moved across the property.
