Vincent awoke with a start, his body trembling as if still caught in the throes of a vivid dream. The room felt oppressive, suffused with the echoes of his restless slumber. He sat up, beads of perspiration glistening on his forehead, the remnants of a feverish dream clinging to him like a haunting melody.

His breath caught, and he rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the disorienting haze. The world around him blurred momentarily as he grappled with the transition from the surreal dreamscape to the harsh reality of his dimly lit bedroom.
