Julian, on the other hand, whistled as he stepped out of his apartment, nodding slightly to the melody.

After leaving the hospital, he headed directly to his apartment to change his clothes.

Luckily, his cheating wife was not at home. This gave him many chances to do what he wanted.

He was going to move out. But after looking around, he realized he didn't own more than four pairs of clothes. That was all he ever owned here.

He had spent his life toiling away for his wife, barely doing anything for himself.

But what did he get in the end? Disdain and getting his limbs broken. That was all to it.

Julian clenched his fist as he thought about this, and rage flashed across his eyes.

Soon, he calmed down and shook his head. He had already demanded a divorce and would have gone to get the divorce papers if Logan hadn't beaten him up.

Now that he was fine, the first thing he would do was... After getting the divorce, he would head to the bank to transfer the money Lucien gave him to his account.

Thinking like this, Lucien stepped into the road and flagged down a taxi. Telling the driver where he was heading, the taxi drove off.

Hours later, a taxi pulled up before a huge building, and Julian alighted from the taxi, holding a document.

He had gone to the civil affairs office first to finalize his divorce. He signed it and brought it with him to give it to Lyra to sign her part so it would be finally over.

He would rather not have anything to do with her anymore.

After leaving the civil affairs office, he went to the bank to transfer the amount into his account.

Taking in a deep breath, Julian prepared to walk into the bank when a mocking voice sounded,

“And look who we have here,”

“I'd assume my men didn't really break your limbs as I instructed them to, which is why I presume you're here, huh?” Logan's arrogant voice sounded, his gaze so intense that Julian could feel it at the back of his head.

Julian frowned slightly, then turned around, only to be met with the disdainful gaze of Logan and Lyra.

Seeing the two adulterous couples, Julian's expression changed, but he didn't say anything and just prepared to ignore them.

“Boy, I have to thank you for letting me have your wife,” Logan taunted, pulling Lyra closer and planting a kiss on her lips.

“I need to remind you just how sweet she is,” Logan continued, a hint of mockery could be felt in his voice.

“I bet you haven't had her as many times as I have in the last few days.”

“You can have her all you want; I don't really care as much as I live,” Julian spat, his gaze cold, as he shifted it to stare at Lyra.

“I've gotten the divorce; here's yours, sign it,” Julian added and threw the divorce papers at Lyra before turning around.

Lyra's expression changed after seeing this, and for a moment, she felt a pang of panic in her heart. Somehow it felt as though Julian was now a different person.

“And where do you think you're going?” Lyra screamed, coming back to her senses.

“And when did I start to answer you?” Julian sneered, not stopping in his tracks, and walked into the bank.

“Let's go see what he's up to,” Logan smirked and, pulling Lyra over and they both walked into the bank.

Julian, on the other hand, headed towards the counter the moment he walked into the bank.

Pulling out the bank card Lucien had given to him, he handed it to the cashier and then said,

“I want to confirm the amount inside this card and transfer it to my bank.”

“Alright, sir.” The cashier nodded and took the card from Julian, then started to type away on the computer.

“Sir, there's a total of one billion inside this card,” the cashier spoke after a while, raising her head to look at Julian, shock written all over her face.

“Would you like to continue with the transfer?” The cashier asked, her gaze still on Julian.

“Yes, I…”

“Impossible,” Logan's sharp voice came, interrupting the cashier as he hurried over to the counter with Lyra.

“There's no way this brat here can have so much, no absolute way,” Logan shook his head, disbelief written all over his face.

Even his family assets were, overall, just about five hundred million. And if it was everything, then it was just a billion.

Not more, not less. So there was no way he could even think of the fact that Julian had so much.

Lyra, on the other hand, stared at Julian, disbelief written all over her face. If Julian had so much then why didn't he tell her? Why did he hide it away from her?

“And you are?” The cashier frowned, her gaze rather unfriendly as she stared at Logan.

“Don't worry about them; just treat them as two rabid dogs that got lost,” Julian spoke before Logan could reply.

“Julian, tell me, where did you get such an amount of money?” Lyra questioned, her eyes scrutinizing Julian as though she wanted to force the answers out of his mouth.

Julian threw Lyra a glance and huffed, before he turned away, entirely ignoring her.

“How dare you ignore me? Didn't you hear me talking to you?” Lyra flew into a rage seeing this, glaring at Julian, hatred written all over her eyes.

“Isn't it obvious where trash like him got so much,” Logan scoffed, at the same time snatching the card away from the cashier.

“It's obvious that he stole it,” he added, his eyes scanning the card in his hands as though he was trying to find some kind of evidence.

“Found it,” Logan declared, spotting something on the black card.

“Julian, admit you stole this card,” Logan glared at Julian, pointing at him.

“From where exactly?” Julian asked, feeling rather amused at Logan's audacity.

“From the Browns!” Logan accused, pointing at Julian, fury written all over his face as he pointed at Julian.

  • An invitation

Julian stared at the man and couldn't seem to grasp what he might be insinuating. If he could remember correctly, today was the first time he was coming across anyone from the Preston family. In fact, he never knew such a family existed. He wasn’t staying in this city and also wasn’t someone interested in a family’s history and background. “Might be a mistake. I am sure that this is the first time we are meeting each other.” Julain said casually with a smile. “Honey, do you know him from somewhere?” Fenna turned to look at Dalton, searching his face, which had a puzzled look on it. “Uhmmm,” Dalton stuttered, finding it difficult to decide. He had definitely met someone who looked like Julian; however, that person was quite older. It didn’t make sense that he was aging backwards, right? “What’s your last name?” He could only ask instead. “Eddleman,” Julian replied, curious to know where it would lead to. “Ahh, forget it. I might be mistaking you for someone else.” He waved the

  • We have met before?

“Dad, Fenna here tried to frame Mom for poisoning Owen. I am only trying to make her confess, that’s all.” Drake said proudly and deliberately took a glance at Fenna, hinting at the kind of trouble she had brought up herself. Everyone was, in fact, pleased that Dalton was back. As the head of the family, he could pass judgment and even banish a family member. Every power still rested in his hand until he decided to pass it on. Dalton frowned when he heard this. The place had become so silent with just his footsteps echoing as he began to trot towards them. Hurriedly, Helen wanted to speak. “Honey…” However, Dalton lifted his hand, cutting her off even before she could complete her sentence. His gaze was fixed on Fenna all along; the tears streaming down her cheeks touched his heart, and he proceeded to ask after pulling the smoke pipe from his lips. “What happened?” He asked calmly. Everyone immediately frowned, including Helen. She thought he would listen to her straight away

  • I asked a fucking question

An intense fight was about to break out. Waves had gushed around, flipping the couch ahead while some family members were almost blown off their feet. It happened so fast before anyone could even react, even though they had anticipated it. “Wait!” However, Fenna suddenly yelled in the nick of time, just when Tiger's sword had almost struck Scarface. Even though he had taken a stance, ready to tank the move, from how explosive and deadly it was, it was evident that the blow would kill him instantly. Tiger quickly halted the attack; however, the edge of the sword was so close to splitting Scarface's head in two. A few cuts had been inflicted on his face with blood pouring over even though the attack hadn’t struck deeply yet. Not only had Tiger concentrated so much of his Qi into his sword, but he also had the intention to kill Scarface on the spot. She just couldn’t allow him to kill Scarface just because of her. The man didn’t deserve to die just like that even though he was read

  • The past is the past

Fenna never expected such a question, and what was more, aside from the witnesses, she had no proof to back up her claim. The infirmary didn’t have any cameras installed, which was why Helen had been so bold to do what she did. Fenna bit her lower lip in frustration when she noticed that, actually, the other family members had gathered to look. That was precisely why Helen said that, so she could save herself and, at the turn, make Fenna seem like the troublesome one. “It seems you don’t have proof.” Helen chided when she saw the darkened look on Fenna's face. “Tch! How bold and thick-skinned. You are pointing fingers, yet you don’t even have proof? Are you looking down on us or what?” Drake grunted, his fist tightening. “You have always wanted to kick us out of this family when we haven't done anything to you.” He added, when a thought suddenly popped into his head. “I think I know what’s going on here!” He suddenly said loudly for everyone to hear. “Me too.” Chloe also stood

  • Put on an act

Meanwhile, in the massive living room within the mansion. Helen was seated on the couch between her kids. On her right was Drake, while on the left was Chloe. They had a keen resemblance to Helen and were very good-looking, even comparable to movie stars on TV. The trio seemed to be invested in a video playing on the phone Helen was holding. Helen had found the video very funny, so she called them over to come take a look. “Hahaha, what a loser. I was expecting much of him, though.” Drake laughed out loudly at a scene in the video that didn’t turn out to be the way he was expecting. As for Chloe, she looked a bit bored. She would have preferred to watch Korean dramas instead. She had the urge to voice out her discontent but the sound of hurried footsteps could be heard coming from a hallway. However, the trio wasn't too concerned about that until the person showed up. It was Fenna, and behind her was Scarface with a solemn expression on his face. “Hellen! How dare you try

  • You saved my son?

Bang! Mrs. Fenna barged into the infirmary in a panic. She had been praying to the heavens to ensure she wouldn’t come to meet the worst-case scenario ever. But then, the first thing she caught was Scarface having a conversation with Randy, both of them having smiles on their faces while Julian was seated beside the lady, seemingly treating her legs with some techniques. In summary, the tension in the air was so calm, and soothing that it didn’t feel like anything bad had happened or that such a villainous woman like Helen had actually come here before. She began to doubt if what Callum told her was true; however, what reason did she have to doubt him now? He wasn’t someone who would lie to her when he knew the kind of mental pressure it would cost her. “You are back?” Julian said with a smile as he looked at her. He could already get a hint that she knew what had happened here. Someone must have told her indeed. “Your son is fine.” He added, and only then did she breathe a s
