Chapter 1
Chapter 1 -The Dinner Of Shame
The Harrison family dining room was full of noise and laughter.
Everyone was dressed in fine clothes, gold watches flashing under the light.
At the end of the long table sat Ryan Blake, wearing a cheap black shirt that had lost its color.
“Ryan, why are you just sitting there?” Aunt Mabel asked, her voice sharp. “You can at least pour wine for your elders. That’s the only thing you’re good at.”
Laughter filled the room again.
Ryan stood quietly, lifted the bottle, and filled each glass. His hands were steady, his eyes calm.
He didn’t reply. He never did.
Across from him, Clara, his wife, looked down at her plate. She didn’t defend him this time. She was tired—tired of hearing the same insults, tired of pretending her husband wasn’t the shame of the Harrison family.
Uncle Fred leaned forward. “I heard you’re still working at that delivery place. How much do they pay you? Ten dollars a day?”
More laughter.
Ryan smiled a little. “Enough to live,” he said softly.
“Live?” Fred sneered. “You mean survive. My dog eats better than you.”
Clara’s mother hit the table with her fork. “Enough jokes. We have real matters to talk about. Clara, your cousin just got promoted to manager. And look at you—married to this useless man.”
Ryan lowered his gaze. He’d heard it all before. They didn’t know who he was. They didn’t know what he had done for their safety.
If he told them, they wouldn’t believe it anyway.
He reached for his water. His sleeve lifted, showing a faint scar on his wrist—the mark from the mission that ended his old life. He quickly pulled his sleeve down again.
Just then, the family’s driver rushed in, breathing hard. “Madam! Sir! Bad news! Someone attacked Mr. Harrison’s factory. The guards are down!”
Everyone jumped from their seats.
“What?” Clara’s mother shouted. “Who would dare attack our factory?”
Uncle Fred cursed under his breath. “This is bad. The men said the attackers are from the Black Viper group. They’re asking for money and threatening to burn everything.”
The room fell silent.
Ryan’s eyes darkened for the first time that night. Black Viper. He knew that name. He knew the men who ran it. They were ghosts from the past he’d buried.
No one noticed the change in his face except Clara. “Ryan… you know them?” she whispered.
He looked at her and gave a calm smile. “I used to,” he said.
“Then call someone—help us!” her mother cried.
Ryan placed the glass down gently. “Don’t worry. They won’t touch your factory.”
Fred laughed again. “Oh please, what can you do? Call your delivery friends? Maybe you’ll throw parcels at them?”
Ryan didn’t answer. He stood, buttoned his shirt, and walked toward the door.
Clara grabbed his arm. “Ryan, where are you going?”
He looked at her with steady eyes. “To end this.”
Everyone watched as the “useless” son-in-law walked out of the mansion.
Outside, the night was cold and quiet. Ryan pulled a small phone from his pocket—the one no one had ever seen. He pressed a single number.
The line connected at once.
A deep voice answered, “Commander, we’ve been waiting for your call.”
Ryan’s calm tone returned. “The vipers are moving again. Clean them up.”
“Yes, sir.”
He ended the call, slid the phone back into his pocket, and looked at the dark sky.
Inside the house, they still laughed at him.
Tomorrow, the whole city would remember the name they had forgotten—
The Legend.

Ryan returned home late that night. The cab dropped him far from the house, and he walked the rest of the way slowly. His body felt weak, but his mind was heavy with thoughts. Everything he saw at the company kept replaying in his head. The old building. The files. Uncle Grey’s name. None of it felt normal. When he reached the gate, he stopped for a moment and listened. The house was quiet. No voices. No movement. Only the sound of the night. He opened the gate gently and stepped inside, closing it carefully behind him.Ryan entered the house quietly. He removed the cap and the mask quickly and hid them inside his bag. He pushed the bag deep into the wardrobe and changed his clothes. Only then did he move to the bed.Clara was sleeping peacefully.Ryan sat beside her and watched her face. His heart felt heavy. He wished he could tell her everything, but he knew that would only scare her. He lay down beside her and closed his eyes, but sleep refused to come. His thoughts kept going bac

The Useless Son In-law Is A Legend Chapter 234
The car stopped a little far from the company building. Ryan paid the driver and stepped out slowly. The night air was cold and quiet. The street lights were on, but the area felt strange, almost forgotten. He stood still for a moment, holding his bag, and looked ahead. The company building was right there. It looked the same, yet not the same. The tall gate was still standing, but the paint was fading. The signboard still carried the company name, but some letters were broken. Lights were on inside, but not many. The place felt empty, like a body without a soul.Ryan’s chest tightened. This place once felt alive. His father walked these grounds with pride. Workers laughed. Phones rang. Meetings happened. Dreams were built here. Now it felt cold.Ryan lowered his cap and put on his mask and glasses. He adjusted his jacket and walked forward slowly. His steps were careful. He did not want attention. At the gate, a security man sat on a chair, half awake. Ryan walked past like he belong

The Useless Son In-law Is A Legend Chapter 233
Ryan woke up early that morning, even before the sun fully rose. His body still felt weak, but his mind was sharp. He lay on the bed for a while, listening to the quiet sounds of the house. Clara was sleeping beside him. Her face looked calm, and for a moment, Ryan wished he could stay there and forget everything else. But he could not.The plan he made the night before stayed heavy in his mind. Going back to the company was risky, but waiting longer was even more dangerous. Too many strange things were happening. Too many secrets were closing in on the people he loved.Ryan slowly got out of bed. He moved carefully so Clara would not wake up. He picked up his small bag from under the bed and carried it quietly into the bathroom. He locked the door softly behind him.Inside the bathroom, Ryan stood in front of the mirror. He looked at his reflection for a long time. He barely recognized the man staring back at him. He looked thinner. His eyes carried tiredness and worry. This was not

The Useless Son In-law Is A Legend Chapter 232
Morning came slowly. The house woke up like nothing was wrong, but Ryan felt different inside. His body was still weak, but his mind was already far ahead. He sat on the edge of the bed, watching the light enter through the window. Clara was still sleeping. Her face looked peaceful, and that made him pause. He did not want to bring trouble closer to her.Ryan stood up gently and walked out of the room. The house was quiet. Ava was not awake yet. Mrs Harrison was in the kitchen, moving slowly, her back turned. Uncle Grey was nowhere to be seen. That gave Ryan some relief. He stepped outside into the small yard. The morning air felt fresh, but his chest felt tight. He leaned against the wall and took a deep breath. He already knew what he had to do.He needed to go back to the company. Not openly. Not as Ryan.He needed to go quietly.Ryan pulled out his phone and scrolled through his contacts. He stopped at one name.Marcus.His finger stayed there for a while. Marcus had been with him

Ryan could not sleep that night. He lay on the bed staring into the dark, listening to every small sound inside the house. Clara was beside him, asleep, breathing slowly. He wished he could rest too, but his mind refused to be quiet. Each time he closed his eyes, the image of the locked room returned to him.The spare room. The door that stayed closed. The door Uncle Grey never talked about.Ryan turned on the bed and sighed quietly. His body felt tired, yet his thoughts felt heavy. Uncle Grey’s voice kept repeating in his head, the threats, the warnings, the talk about a document. None of it felt clear, yet all of it felt dangerous. One thing was certain to Ryan.Whatever Uncle Grey wanted had nothing to do with his father’s company. That truth felt firm inside him.His father’s company had collapsed long ago. The people in this house never knew much about it. Uncle Grey only came into their lives later. There was no reason for him to suddenly be connected to that past.So why wa

The Useless Son In-law Is A Legend Chapter 230
The night after Clara returned from the market felt longer than usual. The house was quiet, but the quiet did not feel peaceful. It felt heavy, like something was hiding inside the walls and listening.Ryan lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Clara was beside him, trying to sleep, but he could tell she was not fully calm. Her breathing changed each time a sound came from outside.Ryan kept his eyes open.He was thinking about the warning message. He was thinking about Clara feeling followed. He was thinking about Uncle Grey’s threats. And most of all, he was thinking about the document.Someone wanted it badly.Someone was ready to destroy lives because of it.That meant the document was real. And if it was real, then it had to be somewhere close.Ryan slowly sat up. Clara turned slightly.“You can’t sleep again,” she said quietly.Ryan paused, “I don’t want to wake you.”She opened her eyes and looked at him, “Something is wrong, Ryan. I can feel it.”Ryan took a deep breath
