Ryan was called useless by everyone — a broke, unwanted son-in-law who lived off his wife’s family. They laughed at him, insulted him, and treated him like trash. But what they didn’t know was that Ryan once ruled the underworld. He was a man people feared across cities — a silent legend who disappeared three years ago after walking away from power and blood. Now, living as a “nobody,” Ryan keeps his head down, pretending to be weak. He hides his true strength, waiting for the right time to strike. When his greedy in-laws mock him again and his wife’s cousin tries to destroy everything, Ryan quietly returns to the life he buried — not for fame, but for love. Soon, the whole city begins to whisper about the “useless” son-in-law who is suddenly untouchable. Enemies tremble. Secrets break. And Clara, the woman who once looked down on him, starts to see the man behind the silence. He is not just a husband. He is the legend they all feared — and this time, he’s fighting for more than power. He’s fighting for his family, his name, and the woman who never believed in him.

Chapter 1 -The Dinner Of Shame

The Harrison family dining room was full of noise and laughter.

Everyone was dressed in fine clothes, gold watches flashing under the light.

At the end of the long table sat Ryan Blake, wearing a cheap black shirt that had lost its color.

“Ryan, why are you just sitting there?” Aunt Mabel asked, her voice sharp. “You can at least pour wine for your elders. That’s the only thing you’re good at.”

Laughter filled the room again.

Ryan stood quietly, lifted the bottle, and filled each glass. His hands were steady, his eyes calm.

He didn’t reply. He never did.

Across from him, Clara, his wife, looked down at her plate. She didn’t defend him this time. She was tired—tired of hearing the same insults, tired of pretending her husband wasn’t the shame of the Harrison family.

Uncle Fred leaned forward. “I heard you’re still working at that delivery place. How much do they pay you? Ten dollars a day?”

More laughter.

Ryan smiled a little. “Enough to live,” he said softly.

“Live?” Fred sneered. “You mean survive. My dog eats better than you.”

Clara’s mother hit the table with her fork. “Enough jokes. We have real matters to talk about. Clara, your cousin just got promoted to manager. And look at you—married to this useless man.”

Ryan lowered his gaze. He’d heard it all before. They didn’t know who he was. They didn’t know what he had done for their safety.

If he told them, they wouldn’t believe it anyway.

He reached for his water. His sleeve lifted, showing a faint scar on his wrist—the mark from the mission that ended his old life. He quickly pulled his sleeve down again.

Just then, the family’s driver rushed in, breathing hard. “Madam! Sir! Bad news! Someone attacked Mr. Harrison’s factory. The guards are down!”

Everyone jumped from their seats.

“What?” Clara’s mother shouted. “Who would dare attack our factory?”

Uncle Fred cursed under his breath. “This is bad. The men said the attackers are from the Black Viper group. They’re asking for money and threatening to burn everything.”

The room fell silent.

Ryan’s eyes darkened for the first time that night. Black Viper. He knew that name. He knew the men who ran it. They were ghosts from the past he’d buried.

No one noticed the change in his face except Clara. “Ryan… you know them?” she whispered.

He looked at her and gave a calm smile. “I used to,” he said.

“Then call someone—help us!” her mother cried.

Ryan placed the glass down gently. “Don’t worry. They won’t touch your factory.”

Fred laughed again. “Oh please, what can you do? Call your delivery friends? Maybe you’ll throw parcels at them?”

Ryan didn’t answer. He stood, buttoned his shirt, and walked toward the door.

Clara grabbed his arm. “Ryan, where are you going?”

He looked at her with steady eyes. “To end this.”

Everyone watched as the “useless” son-in-law walked out of the mansion.

Outside, the night was cold and quiet. Ryan pulled a small phone from his pocket—the one no one had ever seen. He pressed a single number.

The line connected at once.

A deep voice answered, “Commander, we’ve been waiting for your call.”

Ryan’s calm tone returned. “The vipers are moving again. Clean them up.”

“Yes, sir.”

He ended the call, slid the phone back into his pocket, and looked at the dark sky.

Inside the house, they still laughed at him.

Tomorrow, the whole city would remember the name they had forgotten—

The Legend.
