Chapter 25

Lucas looked at the soldiers and used a bit of his magic to see the other camp and saw that they were not going to send an attack. Assured with that information he dashed towards the enemy troops as those from his country were a bit more cautious.

"We need to enter the battle quickly." Aslaug said to the others.

"But we do not know if they will attack like this again." A soldier said to him.

"And? We are soldiers and Lord Larsen is going to fight the enemy. We can't just stand here and do nothing." A soldier said in response.

"He is correct. We cannot just stand here and do nothing while Lord Larsen is fighting valiantly against them." Another soldier said agreeing with the one.

But before it could escalate further it was stopped when they saw the barrier starting to disappear. This caused the soldiers to get ready with their weapons as after the barrier was down they ran towards the enemy as Lucas was fighting them.

He is currently using a Claymore using his left hand while also using his sword on his right as he is fighting the enemy. His training helps him in achieving this form of combat as he is able to fight quite nicely.

'He's using a sword and a claymore together. I don't know if he's reckless or idiotic. Especially when we are in a war.' Aslaug thought to herself as she ran forward.

'If we survive this war then I hope I can fight against him.' Andvaranaut thought to himself as he charged with his soldiers.

The two armies met again as blood and metal flew around as many were killed in the battlefield. Lucas himself is also starting to get a bit tired due to the amount of enemies he is facing as their larger numbers are coming to their advantage.

"Don't count me out just yet!" Lucas shouted as he threw the claymore.

The claymore pierced through a soldier and threw him back before piercing two more soldiers as they spit out blood from having the large blade go through their body as their allies watch it with shock.

It was exploited by Lucas as he started to kill the enemies and also take their weapons and use them against them. From the corner of his eyes he saw a group of arrows coming straight towards them. The soldiers seeing that panicked and started to run.

Only for Lucas to grab one soldier and to literally use him as a human shield as the arrows hit him as he screamed in pain before dying as his body went limp. Lucas threw the body away before putting his attention back to the enemies.

"He's quite brutal." Kriemhild said as she saw how he protected himself.

'Then again, it isn't that frowned upon anyways. It just shows how much of a warrior he is.' Kriemhild thought to herself as she killed another soldier as she narrowly dodged the attack to her neck.

As she was fighting one soldier managed to recognise her as his eyes widened in shock. Before it became one of fury as he charged towards her and locked blades with her as she held him back.

"You bitch! How dare you betray us!" The soldier shouted angrily at her.

Thankfully, his voice wasn't that clear due to the soldiers fighting around them but Aslaug had managed to hear his words as this caught her attention.

Kriemhild's eyes flew open at his words but she glared at him before masterfully moving her sword and deprived the soldier of his weapon much to his surprise. Then she plunged her blade into his heart as he gasped in pain.

"I never betrayed you. After all, you never had my loyalty to begin with." Kriemhild said to him coldly.

"Hel awaits a betrayer like you." The soldier said before he died.

Kriemhild took her blade out of the soldiers body before she went to fight against the other soldiers as Aslaug looked at her.

'So she was a member of the enemy huh. That mortal is really interesting.' Aslaug thought to herself as she kept on fighting.

"Watch out!" A soldier yelled before he was stabbed by a spear as it went through him courtesy of Lucas.

He then kicked the butt end of the spear and the force from it caused it to go out of the soldier and stab through two more soldiers from the speed and force of it as they have dumbfounded expressions as they coughed blood.

The soldiers beside then only had a moment to look at the two before Lucas pounced on them and started to hit them using another soldier who is still alive as he used him like a bat before throwing him away.

He then took out his blade and decapitated another soldier before killing a few more as he looked at the soldiers who were keeping their distance away from him.

His armor has a lot of blood splattered on it due to the close quarters combat he has been doing and some of it is also on his face, precisely on his left cheek. Lucas eyed the soldiers near him when he suddenly felt a huge amount of mana being concentrated from the enemy camp.

Then to his surprise two large magic circles appeared catching the attention of both armies as two large cages appeared from it which are covered by clothes. They were taken aback by the size of the two cages as two soldiers appeared from the camp with blowhorns in their hands.

Then they blew it as the sound was heard by all present as the ground started to rumble afterwards. The soldiers watched with wide eyes as two reptilian heads, one from each cage, appeared from it. Many soldiers stepped back in fear as the two dragons came out of their cages and roared for all to hear.

"I-It's a dragon!" A Norwegian soldier shouted in horror.

"W-we can't defeat that!" Another soldier said scared as well.

'Its head is as large as a cart with its horse.' Lucas thought to himself as he looked at the two dragons.

One has black scales while the others has dark brown ones. The two of them shared the same body type as they both looked like typical Western dragons with four limb, tail and wings.

Said dragons looked at the soldiers gathered and recognised the armor of the Sweden soldier's and then also took notice of the armor of the Norwegian soldiers as it glared at them and growled as fire started to gather in its mouth.

'Shit it's about to attack!' Lucas thought to himself in alarm before he turned to his soldiers.

"Retreat!" Lucas ordered immediately as the soldiers ran away.

"Retreat!" Olivia and Andvaranaut also said as they started to run away from the dragon hoping to get out of its range.

Not long after the two dragons let out its fire and burned a lot of unfortunate soldiers who were burned to the ground from the powerful flames as the fire stayed burning on the ground as Lucas who is joining by Aslaug and Kriemhild watched it.

"Things just became a whole lot harder." Lucas said as he has a grim look on his face.
