Chapter 27

"Hraaah!" Lucas bisected a soldier with his blade as blood splattered on the ground.

He, Olivia and Aslaug have made short work of the soldiers as they looked around to see them decapitated, stabbed and dead around them. Lucas then turns to Falkor who is flying around as he is being chased by the two dragons.

"I'll be helping him now." Lucas said as he quickly ran towards his wyvern.

Falkor saw him and drew closer to the ground as he jumped onto his back and they flew upwards with the dragon's following behind them. They shot fire at them but they managed to dodge especially with the help of Lucas as he maneuvered the wyvern as he observed the two dragons.

"Attack!" Eric however shouted from the camp as mages shot spells towards Falkor.

"Alright boy, time for you to show me what you got." Lucas said as he readied himself.

The mages shot fireballs towards them as Falkor roared before deftly dodging them though Lucas also helped by using magic to shield him and destroying a few of the fireballs himself. Then both of them flew towards the mages which causes them to become scared as the quickly made a magic barrier.

"Fire!" Lucas ordered his wyvern.

Falkor did as told and shot a stream of fire at the shield as the mages protected themselves. Lucas looked behind him to see the two dragons roaring as they flew towards them as he smirked. He then ordered Falkor to fly towards the barrier as they neared it with the dragon's following.

The eyes of the mages widened when he and Falkor flew upwards just before hitting the barrier but for the two dragons the maneuver was difficult due to their size and weight as they crashed into the barrier with a pained roar.

The barrier gained many cracks many of the mages fled in fright causing the barriers to break and kill the mages that were unfortunate enough to be under them. Lucas however used that moment to set a lot of the mages on fire as they screamed in pain before he moved back deep into the battlefield.

"My lord, this is not working. That man is destroying our army." The commander said to Eric.

Eric himself has an irritated face as he grit his teeth. He had expected the war to go his way when he released the two dragons on the battlefield. He didn't expect however for Olivia and Aslaug to use the dragons against them as their soldiers were also killed by the two.

And then Lucas appeared with a wyvern which also reduced the number of soldiers in their army. What should've been an easy victory for his country has turned into a great loss. However, he has also noted that the enemies also have a great loss of personnel as well.

"This battle is not going in our favour my lord." The second in command said with a grim look.

"What does the majesty say?" The commander asked the court mage who had just talked with the king.

"He says that unless we were to kill that young man, we will lose this war and I also think the same." The court mage said to them.

"But then what do we do? He was already strong, but now with that wyvern he is now much more of a threat." The second in command said to him.

"Make them go berserk." Eric said causing the people around him to look at him in shock.

"But my Lord! That is extremely dangerous!" The commander said in an alarmed tone.

"Then what do you propose we should do!? At this rate, we will lose in the war and that man is destroying our armies and the dragons aren't able to do a thing to him! If the two of them are focused on him then we will lose this war!" Eric shouted in anger.

"But my liege, making them go berserk is tantamount to making them go mad. They won't be able to distinguish between their enemies and their master's." The commander said to him.

"Then, court mage, go and talk with my father about this and tell us his decision and fast before that blasted warrior decimates the rest of our army!" Eric said to the court mage who did as he was told.

Eric then glares at Lucas who is flying with the help of Falkor as the two dragons are chasing them with the wyvern taunting them again and again.

"Hahahahaha!" Lucas laughed as he enjoyed the ride despite the danger.

"Is he right in the head? No wait, I don't think a normal person would like that to begin with." Kriemhild said as she looked at the spectacle.

'Great. The plan to use the dragons on the enemy is working perfectly. Soon, enough their numbers will dwindle to manageable levels and we can win this war.' Lucas thought to himself.

With that thought he kept on dodging the dragons as he used them to kill the enemy soldiers. On the ground their army is also attacking the soldiers and we're gaining ground much to the happiness of the soldiers as they cheered.

But then it stopped when a great amount of magic appeared on the camp again but this time the magic hit the two dragons causing them to roar much to the confusion of Lucas and the army.

'What did they do?' Lucas thought to himself as he looked at the dragons.

The dragons hastily landed on the ground and shook their heads. Lucas used his magic sense to look at them and his eyes widened when he saw what was happening to them.

'The amount of mana inside them is greater than before. And it looks like it has an effect on the two dragons as well.

Lucas was wide eyes as he saw the eyes of the dragons becoming red and their pupils becoming sharper. They bared their teeth as they dug their feet into the ground as he felt the mana rolling off of their body.

"Wait, I remember this. There was a document about it saying about a similar phenomenon. That was... right! Berserker Rage!" Lucas said as he remembered it.

In short, it was a state in which a dragon gets more angry until a certain threshold where their anger reaches it's peak. When that happens the mana inside their bodies start to affect their bodies as they become stronger, faster and durable than before.

But as the name would suggest, this also results in them going Berserk and attacking the things around them which usually are the enemies it has been fighting. But considering the fact that they are in the battlefield the fact that they are now going into their Berserker Rage state, they would not only become a greater threat they would destroy absolutely everything around them.

"Shit we have to get out soldiers away!" Lucas said as he quickly flew towards his side.

The soldiers and warriors and the girls noticed him coming towards them. The more trained ones also saw his alarmed face.

"Retreat right now! Those dragons are about to go berserk!" Lucas shouted to them.

The moment he said that the two dragons roared as this time greater shockwaves were felt all over the battlefield as the soldiers looked at the two scared.
