Chapter 28

"Both of you get on right now!" Lucas shouted to Aslaug and Olivia who were running amongst enemy lines.

They heard him and looked up before jumping towards him. He grabbed their hands and pulled them onto his dragon while he growled. The girls thought he was growling because of them but the answer came in the form of the two dragons who were looking at his direction.

"Grab onto his scales." Lucas said as the two complied.

"What happened to them?" Olivia asked as she used her hand to block the wind hitting her face.

"They've gone berserk! They are unable to distinguish between friend and foe at this state! We have to get out soldiers out of the battlefield!" Lucas said to her as he looked at the dragons.

"How do you know that?" Aslaug asked him surprised.

"I read it somewhere but I don't have time to elaborate. We have to make sure that our soldiers are unharmed." Lucas said to the demigoddess.

He saw the dragons glaring at them and gathering fire in their mouths as he narrowed his eyes before looking at the retreating enemy soldiers.

"Falkor, let's use the dragons to attack them again." Lucas said as he rubbed the left side of the wyvern.

Falkor roared in response before flying towards the enemies by turning left while the girls crouched and held onto his scales as they braced themselves. Lucas has a serious face as he maneuvered his wyvern into flying towards the humans as the two dragons pointed at them.

"Now!" Lucas shouted as he pulled at a scale.

Falkor getting the signal immediately flies upwards while the two dragons send their flames towards their previous direction as it hit the Sweden soldier's as the screamed in pain from being burned alive.

The two dragons then thrashed around and started to shoot fire all around each other and from afar it could only be seen as the literal hell on Earth as the ground was scorched and burned from the two dragons flames. Lucas seeing this as a chance flew his wyvern out of view from the two dragons and went to their army camp.

The soldiers of Norway were running away from the wrath of the dragons while many were praying to their Gods to protect them from harm. Andvaranaut meanwhile was directing his forces as he kept a watchful eye on the battlefield as he made sure that none of his soldiers died senselessly.

'Princess!' Andvaranaut thought to himself when he saw Lucas, Aslaug and Olivia coming towards their camp riding Falkor.

He moved to the place they were flying as the wyvern landed as the two girls jumped down from the back of the wyvern while Kriemhild had managed to get to their place as she looked at the wyvern.

"How are our soldiers?" Olivia asked seriously.

"They are fine for the most part, but a good amount were killed by the rampaging dragons. If it weren't for Lucas telling the soldiers to run then our casualties would've been greater." Andvaranaut said to her before looking at Lucas.

Lucas meanwhile is looking at the rampaging dragons while Falkor is looking at his Master. Lucas rubbed the wyverns snout when it neared him as the beast growled in acknowledgement. The others were meanwhile surprised at how easily he was interacting with the wyvern.

"We have to get the court mage on this. Our soldiers cannot defeat the two dragons." Lucas said to them seriously.

"I agree. And if they have become much stronger than before then it will become all the more difficult to defeat them." Aslaug said as she looked at him.

"Um, is this a good time to point out the magic that is being used on the two dragons?" Kriemhild asked as she pointed to the beasts.

The other four looked at the direction of the dragons at that remark and saw magic being used on the dragons again before the roared out and then looked at their camp causing them to become alarmed while their soldiers who saw the dragons looking at them screamed in fear and started to panic.

"They're staring at us! I thought they had gone berserk!?" Aslaug said to Lucas alarmed.

"I think they are using magic to make them attack. A good plan." Lucas said as he looked at the dragons.

"Well we have to do something." Olivia said nervously as she knew that their attack will be dangerous.

Lucas didn't say anything before rubbing Falkor and then the wyvern flew into the sky surprising the rest.

"What's he doing?" Aslaug said confused.

"I don't know." Andvaranaut said as he looked just as confused as the rest of them.

Lucas meanwhile started to use his mana which caused runes to appear over his sword before it started to glow purple from having magic being used on it as he flew towards the right side of his camp as the other's watched.

"We have to move away further." Andvaranaut said as he knew it will be problematic if they stayed there.

"He's right. We can't stay here." Kriemhild said as she looked at the dragons nervously.

The others also nodded before they started to run away as well. In their camp they saw magic coming from their central camp as a barrier is starting to be formed in front of their lines. Kriemhild realised that Lucas is outside the area of the barrier.

"What is Lord Lucas doing?" A soldier asked as he had reached a considerable distance from the barrier.

Andvaranaut and the girls and the other soldiers were looking at him surprised at what he is doing. Then they saw him fly to the right before he stayed in the air with his right side to the dragons. Then he raised his glowing sword and stabbed the air and to which it seemed to actually cut the air as the swords blade disappeared to their confusion.

'Good. I've managed to get a clean cut in the space here.' Lucas thought to himself.

"Go!" Lucas ordered as Falkor flew forward.

As he advanced the cut in space started to increase as the soldiers watched a line of purple energy being formed on the air by his blade as they watched in astonishment as he cut the very space in front of him. He reached a good deal to the left as the dragon's had gathered enough fire.

"They're about to attack!" The soldier who is supposed to watch the battlefield shouted to them.

"I don't know what he is planning to do but all of you need to be ready!" Andvaranaut said to his soldiers.

Olivia grabbed the necklace she is wearing as it has runes engraved on it while Aslaug held her sword firmly as it glowed lightly. Kriemhild decided to stand between the two women. The rest of the soldiers tried to take cover using their shields as they waited for the inevitable attack.

Then the two dragons fired their attack as a stream of red hot fire came towards them destroying the already burned ground and reaching them.

'Got you.' Lucas thought to himself before he pulled his sword out.

"Rifa rum!" (Rift of Space, I think.) Lucas shouted in Nordic as his eyes glowed.

Then the cut in space that he made enlarged until it was big enough to cover the fire that reached it. The fire entered the rift in space as he smirked before Falkor flew high into the sky. The soldiers from both armies watched with astounded eyes as all of the fire went inside the rift before it closed and disappeared like it never existed.

The only sound were of the dragons roaring in annoyance while the two armies were silent. Then their attention was taken by a familiar roar from Falkor as he flew down with Lucas riding him. His sword glowed before he maneuvered his wyvern to dodge the flames sent by the dragon.

"Time to get a taste of your own medicine!" Lucas said as he became level with the dragons.

He then stabbed the space in front of the two dragons before Falkor flew quickly around the two in a wide circle as both dragons roared at them. After Lucas had made a full circle he pulled his sword out with a victorious smile.

Then the very same flames that the two dragons had sent to the enemy camp appeared out of the rift and enveloped the two dragons as they screamed in pain as the soldiers from both armies were shocked. The concentrated flames from both dragons were too much for the two of them as they were engulfed by it as Falkor flew away from them..

Then after few minutes the flames stopped and the two sides could see the burned bodies of both dragons who were still in the same position as they were roaring in pain. Then both bodies fell on the ground signifying their deaths as the two armies looked shocked. Lucas who watched this and who had orchestrated the attack smirked as Falkor let out a roar that could be heard throughout the battlefield.
