Chapter 34

Lucas woke up two days after the war, his father had returned and congratulated him for his contributions in the war and had said that he would go down in their family as one of the most powerful and noble members who had contributed to their kingdom. Lucas was quite happy to hear that, as his actions in the war are now known in his kingdom.

Today he has to go to the celebration party for their victory against Sweden. He is more than happy to comply as it gives him a way to increase his popularity and also gain some more supporters for his family. While many of the nobles might be neutral to them, his contributions in the war will attract their attention as they would want to make connections between their families.

He doesn't like politics that much, but learning about it does help him in knowing what tactics the other nobles will use to get him on their side as he will be aware of them. Something which he intends to use to his full advantage as he wants to use them to his own advantage.

Right now he is currently getting dressed alongside his parents as they are getting ready to attend the celebration party. He has also placated Aslaug and arranged for her to have some good food and drinks and he has also given her a good amount of money for her help in the war.

As for Kriemhild, he gave her a large sum of money for her to use and a good sword he had gotten his subordinates to buy. It is a good quality sword and she was quite delighted to get the weapon.

"Sweetie, are you done?" Agnes asked as she knocked on his door.

"Yeah. Just a minute." Lucas said as he gave himself one more look before nodding to himself.

'I will also have to think about my inevitable talk with the court mage. My use of Space magic will definitely get his attention. Maybe the reason I wasn't summoned to the palace was because of the fact that we had just finished in the war.' Lucas thought to himself as he walked out of his room.

He met up with his parents who were also ready and we're waiting for him at their carriage. They smiled at him as his mother looked him over at how well dressed he is.

"Oh look how handsome be looks. I'm sure our son will get the attention of many girls." Agnes said with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Now now dear, he has my good looks and your charm. I'm sure he will draw a lot of them, but you must make sure to teach him to be a bit mindful about it." Leif said to her with a smile.

"Dad, mom, I am not going to the party to get a girl." Lucas said to them with a deadpan.

"You don't know that son. With what you had done in the war, you are now one of the most famous and beloved heroes of our kingdom." Leif said to him with a smug smile.

"And any girl would be attracted to a hero who had fought for their country. But be sure to make sure that they are good, okay." Agnes said to him as she winked at him.

Lucas couldn't help but blush as he covered his face with his right hand and dragged it down his face. Embarrassed by the words of his parents as he didn't know what to say. And not to mention the fact that their own servants are present there and they could clearly hear it.

He heard some of the maids giggling and had also heard them talking about how true it is and how handsome he is. Now, as a man he is very glad to know that he is quite well received by women and his confidence has increased from when he was back in his own world.

But the fact that his parents said something embarrassing like that so easily in front of him is a major source of embarrassment for him. He then buried his embarrassment and coughed into his fist and got into the carriage. His parents looked at him going into the carriage and then at each other as they smiled brightly at their sons embarrassed face.

"We should do this more often." Agnes whispered to her husband.

"Well, I don't have much of an opinion about it but if you want then sure." Leif said with a shrug of his shoulders.

'Come on dad!' Lucas thought to himself as he had heard them.

He wanted his father to stop her, but not agree to it. He is the only one who can reign his mother in and now he agrees with her.

'By God, please save me from this embarrassment. I'd rather fight an entire army than have my own mom and dad embarrass me in front of others.' Lucas thought to himself in embarrassment.

A few seconds later his parents also got into the carriage as they smiled at him. Then they left the mansion and went towards the royal palace and to the party hosted by the royal family. On the way Lucas looked at the street of their territory and the places where the people were.

All of them seemed to be happy to see them, most likely due to the fact that him and his father had contributed to the war. Though it is mostly because of him since he had contributed greatly to the war, and his fight against the dragons and the fact that he had actually rode a wyvern into battle.

All of those are things that are usually told in legends and myths, the existence of mythical creatures is known by most, if not, all of the people. However, seeing them in the flesh is another thing and it is also different for someone to actually ride one and defeat two large dragons in battle.

But he had done, done something that no one had actually thought possible and in doing so, became the hero of the war in his country and would most likely be remembered by the whole country as the hero who killed the two dragons.

'I just hope I can enjoy the party without too many problems.' Lucas thought to himself as he watched the common folk.
