Chapter 36

After Olivia had walked past those doors and stood in front of all of her people, she could see the stares of all of them, both men and women, those of her same age as well. Her parents would also appear after fifteen minutes since they wanted their daughter to have the centre stage for some time.

She felt the stares of the men and could feel many of the young nobles looking at her in awe, but she could also feel lust from their eyes as well. It was something she could feel after she gained a sense for it, courtesy of being under the gaze of many such noble boys her age in various parties.

She could also feel the gaze of the adults as well and many of the men also held gazes of desires as they looked at him. She knew that it was because of her beauty, something she knew very well as many had complimented her for it.

As for the girls, many were awed by her, but she could also see that some were jealous, some looking at themselves in doubt while others were just looked at her in awe of her beauty.

And as for the women, they would look at her in awe, then at their own daughters or husbands, whichever one is first and act accordingly. She could also feel that they were also jealous of her beauty which has managed to gain the attention of everyone in the hall, including the servants.

Her eyes scanned the crowd of people and then they widened as her eyes landed on one Lucas Larsen, the young second in command of their central army as well as the man who had gained her respect in the field of battle. It increased tremendously when he showed his strength and prowess in the war, adding to that the fight with the two dragons as well, he was a force to be reckoned with.

And it wasn't the only thing that got her attention about him, it was his eyes. They were devoid of any kind of lust or desire and were only looking at her in awe. Something which caused her to feel happy as he didn't look at her with looks of desire or anything of the sort.

'At least he isn't like the rest of them. He is a powerful warrior and doesn't look at me with lust.' Olivia thought to herself as she looked at him.

Olivia started to walk down the steps as the crowd watched her. She walked elegantly as it showed her beauty as she moved forward. Seeing her walk the people in front of her moved away, knowing that they shouldn't do anything that might displease her.

The people moved away as she walked under the eyes of the rest until she reached her destination as she stopped a few feet in front of Lucas. The guy himself is looking at her in surprise, with the girls that were surrounding him having moved out of the way.

"It's good to see you again Lord Lucas." Olivia said to him with a smile.

"It is also nice to see you again Princess. But you don't need to use the title of Lord to address me, I am not the lord of my family." Lucas said to her with a smile and a respectful tone as he bowed to her.

"Raise your head Lucas. We fought in the war together, and you are the primary reason we had won it. As a war hero, it wouldn't do good to have you bow to me. That is an order." Olivia said to him with a smile as use was happy at his politeness.

"As you say princess." Lucas said with a nod as he smiled at her.

"I wish to talk to you more. Could you come with me?" Olivia asked him with a smile.

"As you wish." Lucas said with a smile and a nod.

He then followed her as they moved to a corner of the hall as the other people watched them, but not moving as they only looked at the two as they walked to the corner under their eyes.

While this was happening Leif and Agnes were watching the interaction with wide eyes, though smiles crept up their faces when they saw them walking together before they looked at each other.

"It looks like our son has got the attention of the princess." Agnes whispered to him giddily.

"If he plays his cards right then he might be able to get the princess' affection." Leif whispered back to her as he looked at her.

The two of them looked at their son as he started talking with the princess and they hoped that he would be able to do it right.

Meanwhile the other noble boys were glaring at Lucas as he talked with the princess as they had wanted to talk with her. Not only was she the princess but also a very beautiful woman as well. And her silver hair and piercing red eyes were alluring to many, and her great figure and face were the cherry on top.

Many of them had tried to court her and get her attention but she would brush them off without much thought. But now she was talking with Lucas with a smile on her face and with none of the same expression of annoyance she had when they had talked to her.

Not to mention the authority that they will get over the kingdom if they managed to marry her. It is a goal of many to marry their heir to the royal family and gain favour with them, but the war and Lucas' contribution to it has put a sizable dent to their plans.

But none would be brave enough to actually say or do anything against him. Due to his contributions in the way which has helped the nation win, he has also gained the affection and respect of the people and has also gained the favour of the royal family, as showcased by how Olivia is currently talking to him right now.

And since he had indeed fought and defeated two dragons and heard about his vast strength and skill in the war, none had the guts to actually show their displeasure. So the boys could only stay at their places and watch as the two conversed with each other.

"I have heard that you have become very popular in our nation Lucas. Though I am not surprised considering your achievements." Olivia said as she smiled at him.

"Well, I did get a warm welcome when I returned to my territory. The people were celebrating my return and praising my name as well." Lucas said with a smile as he remembered that.

"Of course, you are basically a war hero. Not to mention the fact that you had fought two large dragons and defeated them." Olivia said to him with a smile.

"I also got help from Falkor you know." Lucas said as he looked at her.

"Maybe so, but it still stands that you fought and killed two powerful dragons. With this I'm sure that you will go down as one of the most powerful warriors of our nation. The bards will sing songs about you and your name will be etched into history as the warrior who had fought and killed two dragons." Olivia said as she looked at him.

"I suppose. Dragon Slayers are quite rare." Lucas said with a chuckle.

"That they are." Olivia said with a smile.

'He hasn't looked at me with any kind of luscious intentions in his eyes. He truly is a remarkable man.' Olivia thought to herself as she looked at him.
