Chapter 38

"I gotta say though, lady Olivia is a pretty powerful warrior." Lucas said to the girls surrounding him with a practiced smile on his face.

After the King and Queen appeared and Olivia stood with them while he was surrounded by the other noble girls as they wanted to talk with him again as he made sure to entertain them while making sure to leave important details.

He has also seen Olivia glancing at him while he was talking with the girls but she would look away when she knows that he is looking at her, it was a bit amusing for him to see that.

The party ended and so the nobles were leaving the castle and his family was the same as they were moving away, until a knight came to them and stopped them.

"Excuse me, the king wishes for Lord Lucas Larsen to come to meet with him." The knight said to them in a respective tone.

"Of course, my son will be there." Leif said with a nod at that.

He then turned to look at his son and gestured for him to go with the knight as Lucas nodded in return.

"We will wait at the carriage my dear. Be sure to be respectful and make a good impression." Agnes said with a smile on her face.

"Got it mom, dad." Lucas said with a nod and a smile.

Then Lucas followed after the knight as he was escorted towards the throne room as he watched the doors be opened and he walked through it and found the royal family and their royal guard in there, the court mage is also present there as well as he looked at the throne room.

The throne room is primarily yellow in colour with white highlights and is made from very sturdy materials and decorated using precious stones and metals. There are also three chandeliers connected to the ceiling which are made from glass and metal.

All in all, it is a very pretty and beautiful throne room and clearly shows the status of the royal family. And at the end are the three members of the royal family.

Sitting on the biggest throne in the middle is the King Arvid, on his left is the queen Signe and on his right is the princess Olivia. All of them were looking at him and the court mage is also standing beside the stairs with a serious look on his face.

"Lord Lucas Larsen of house Larsen has arrived, my king." One knight said as he looked at the king.

"Hmm. I have been meaning to meet with you Lucas. I have heard great praises regarding your exploits in the war and about how you were able to play a vital role in helping us win the war." Arvid said as he looked at him with a serious look.

"It is my honour to know that my actions have been recognised, my king." Lucas said as he gave a small bow while kneeling with his right knee in front.

"You may stand. That is the least I can do for your efforts." Arvid said to him with a serious face and tone.

"Thank you my king." Lucas said respectfully as he stood up and looked at them.

"Of course, you had also fought alongside my daughter in the war and have for all intents and purposes, became a war hero for our nation. There are only a few warriors who could actually fight against two entire dragons." Arvid said in an impressed tone.

He knew that having a warrior of this calibre in his army is going to be very crucial for the survival of his kingdom and his rule. And he had also taken notice of how his daughter has talked about him and he has seen that she sees him with respect, something which she hasn't shown to any other boy before.

He had also made sure to keep an eye on his behaviour during the celebration and saw how he had acted with the other girls. He didn't seem to leer at their bodies and he looked at the faces of the girls while talking with them without any sign of pride, something which he has seen most of the boys his age do when they are surrounded by women.

And he also noticed how his own daughter seemed to treat him with respect and seemed to be attracted to him as well. Something which he hasn't seen before as she didn't think much of other boys.

But as a King and as a proud father, he wants to make sure that he is the correct person for his daughter. Not to mention, should his daughter marry him he will gain a very strong warrior who is directly tied to his family as well.

His clan, the Larsen clan is also a clan that has existed in his kingdom for a long time and has served the royal family faithfully. His father is also an accomplished swordsman who has made great contributions to the war as well as the man has also killed quite a lot of enemies.

'Now, we also have a lot more we need to learn about him.' Arvid thought to himself as he looked at the boy seriously.

"It is nice to finally meet you face to face. As a mother, I must thank you for being with my daughter and helping her in the war. We had wanted to have a talk with you but decided to have it after the party. We didn't want to seem like we were showing favouritism towards you." Signe said with a smile on her face.

"It is of no consequence my queen." Lucas said as he bowed towards them again before standing straight.

"Now, as the war hero who was responsible for helping our nation in defeating our enemy, I have decided to reward you and your clan for your contributions." Arvid said to him seriously.

"That would be much appreciated my king." Lucas said as he bowed to him in a tone of gratitude.

'This is exactly what I wanted.' Lucas thought to himself as he smiled at how the thing is unfolding.
