Lucas observed the army for a few moments before he joined back into the fray as he couldn't let the two girls and Falkor deal with the soldiers. By this time Kriemhild and Aslaug had already realised that something was different with the soldier and even Falkor was quite wary of them after a while.

Lucas ran towards the soldiers as he felt the runes that had been drawn on his body activating as he let out a breath and attacked an archer and decapitated him before he used that guy's body to smack the ones around him as blood flew out of the neck.

Only for him to be shocked as an archer grabbed the headless body and another kicked him at that moment causing him to let go of the body as he had to dodge arrows that were shot at him as he summersaulted and slammed his heel on soldier under him as he was slammed into the ground.

He finished it by slamming his other foot down through the torso of the soldier, before he dashed towards the other archers. He decided to leave the mages for the last since they are much more difficult to kill in comparison to the archers.

Of course, by focusing on the archers, he would also have to dodge from the attacks of the mages who were trying to kill him as he weaved through the attacks as he also used wind magic to protect himself from the arrows as he increased his speed and killed a lot of them swiftly.

He could feel the power from the runes, but it wasn't like he could get the full power of the runes in one go. He had only just inscribed the runes onto his body. It wasn't like his body could immediately adapt to the runes he inscribed on himself.

The slight problem with runes was that while they would work in full capacity from the moment it had been inscribed on a weapon or material, as long as it is not alive, the full power of the runes will be activated in full.

But if the runes have been inscribed on the body of a living being, then it is a different matter. As unlike a non living thing, the body of a living thing is alive and it will take time for the runes to get used to the body.

It's not serious enough to critically hurt or kill the living being who had been inscribed with the runes, but it will take time for the body to adapt to the runes and for the person to get the full power of the runes inscribed on their body. And how long that process takes depends upon the being in question.

Lucas wasn't particularly sure, but considering the fact that he is a practitioner of magic and frequently uses it, he is quite sure that the runes will adapt to his own body in less time than with people who don't use magic.

The problem arose from the fact that the enemy kingdom decided to attack not too long after he had inscribed the runes on himself. Which meant that his body and the runes were adapting to each other while he is fighting the soldiers, which left him in a less than desirable situation.

He didn't have the time to fully let the runes adapt and settle on his body, and because of that he has to be careful in the way he uses his magic. If he wasn't mindful of the way in which he used his magic power, then he might accidentally affect the runes and hinder himself.

But he can also feel his body getting attuned to the runes as he can feel its effects slowly increasing. His strength was already high, but when the full might of the runes inscribed on his body is fully available to him, he will be able to reach another level of power.

Though he has to be alive for that to happen, and he is certainly getting trouble from the soldiers here. And he is pretty sure that Kriemhild and Aslaug are also getting problems with fighting these soldiers who seemed to have become stronger mid battle. He hoped that they don't lose their morale for the battle as he killed a few more.

"Hahahaha! Is that all you got you foolish mortals! I thought you got stronger, but with this paltry sum you won't do a thing to me!" Aslaug laughed out loud as she used her sword to cleave two soldiers in half and separated their upper bodies from their lower ones.

Kriemhild and Lucas heard her as they dealt with their own share of soldiers. Falkor meanwhile roared as if in approval of her words as he flew high and used his flames on a wider area to disperse the soldiers.

'Well, I guess I won't have to worry about her. In fact, she seems to be enjoying herself.' Lucas thought to himself as he dashed forward and grabbed an archer before he used him as a meat shield for the arrows that were coming towards him.

The archer screamed as the arrows hit him face front as blood gushed out from his body as he was turned into a pin cushion by the volley of arrows as Lucas hummed as he was impressed by it, especially since the soldiers didn't seem to care much about the brutal death of the man.

"You know you just killed your own right?" Lucas asked as he used the moment to survey his surroundings.

But the soldiers weren't willing to allow him to talk as they screamed and charged at him while the archers and mages attacked with arrows and spells.

Lucas just rushed towards the charging enemies as he used his sword to deflect the blade of the soldier in front of him before he impaled him through the chest. Then he proceeded to swing his sword as the soldier was used to hit another one as Lucas jumped out of the way of the arrows.

He charged and grabbed a sword wielder and chucked him straight at the ball of fire as he screamed in pain from hitting it alongside some of the other spells.

Lucas then sends out lightning to intercept the leftover attacks as he took a breath of air and let it out as he stabilized his breathing. He then turned and ran towards Kriemhild as he knew that she would need help with fighting.

She isn't a wyvern like Falkor, nor a demigoddess like Aslaug, and she didn't have the knowledge or training that Lucas had. And while she certainly has very good sword skills, she is the weakest out of the three of them.

And he certainly doesn't want his servant to die on the battlefield like this, as she is quite a good subordinate and has been loyal. And with that thought he dodged a strike from one of the last remaining melee soldiers as he killed the man and grabbed his body and threw it at the men who were attempting to surround Kriemhild.

That momentary distraction allows him to electrocute the downed soldiers as he killed them with powerful lightning as he looked at Kriemhild as she looked at him with gratefulness.

"Thank you Lord Lucas." Kriemhild said to him as he looked at the rest of the soldiers as he clicked his tongue.

"You can thank me by surviving." Lucas said to her with a serious face as he twirled his sword.

"Of course my lord." Kriemhild said as she nodded to him.

Lucas opened his mouth to give a short reply before he heard the roar of Falkor as he looked at his wyvern, though his eyes widened when he saw fireballs appearing from the skies which were not visible some time ago.

'There are even more!' Lucas' eyes widened in shock when he saw that.

"Scatter!" Lucas shouted as he grabbed ahold of Kriemhild.

Aslaug, who saw the fireballs snarled at the use of magic as she blocked the attack of the soldier with one hand before she grabbed and crushed his forearm and lifted him and threw him at the fireballs in the sky.

She smirked as he saw the man hit the fireball and cause some explosions, though the rest of the spells were coming down as Falkor immediately flew out of the range as the wyvern blew its fire at it to protect his master.

Lucas watched the soldiers for signs of panic, and while he did see the fear in their eyes at the sight of the attack, they instead charged towards him and Kriemhild as his eyes slightly widened.

'Tch. So, something has been done to them.' Lucas thought to himself as he took a page out of Aslaug's book and threw a dead body at the coming fireball.

'This is going to be a lot harder than the war, and that is saying something.' Lucas thought to himself as he grabbed a sword and threw it as it impaled the head of an enemy soldier as he glared at the advancing army.

Lucas laid the princess on the floor as he looked at Andvaranaut and Kriemhild who were also on the floor, fainted from the battle and attacks that they were hit with as he looked at Aslaug as the girl looked at him as they nodded to each other. Then they looked at the prince and got ready with their weapons as they kept their eyes on the mage with the prince. "You actually attacked the princess." Eric said to Lucas with a raised eyebrow. "The situation was such that it had to be done. When we take care of you, this will end." Lucas said to the prince with narrowed eyes. "Do you really think that you will be able to defeat me? We shall see." Eric said to the warrior with a smirk. He then raised his right hand and shot a beam of energy at the two of them as they immediately grabbed the downed allies and jumped away as they realised that they would be hurt by the attack. The two of them placed them at the side before charging right at the prince as the prince started to do scatt

Olivia couldn't believe what was happening right now. She had entered the throne room, ready to fight against the enemy prince. But right after she had dodged the energy attack from Eric, a smaller attack had hit her, and to her surprise she didn't feel any pain from him, which was confusing for her and concerning. And then before she was able to think about the attack, her body moved forward, her arms curled around the shaft of her spear as she slashed her spear, right towards Lucas. This alarmed her as she wasn't able to stop herself as she felt fear, and then relief when he had parried her attack and pushed her back. But then she saw Master Andvaranaut attack him with his spear as well as he also parried the attack and made the man fall back. And she saw Kriemhild attacking him from behind as he was moving to protect himself, but Aslaug appeared as she met with Kriemhild and pushed her back which gave her more relief. Which was when Olivia saw the yellow glow in her master'

Lucas and his companions stormed the palace as they charged in through the main door and ran as they didn't find any guards there, but they kept running to find the mage and stop this war. They ascended a flight of steps to get to the throne room. But they were met with the sight of more than 100 soldiers who were ready with their weapons as they immediately honed in on the intruders. "Attack!" The commander shouted as the soldiers ran. Arrows and magic flew towards them as Lucas and Aslaug charged forward and sliced the magical attacks while the others followed their lead while dodging the arrows as the enemy soldiers were charging at them at the same time. Olivia wreathed her spear with lightning as she threw it as it sailed through the air and impaled through a line of soldiers and stabbed through the heart of a mage, before it yanked itself out and flew back towards Olivia as she grabbed it as she met the soldiers blades with her alongside the rest. Andvaranaut had noticed ho

Lucas and his group charged through the territory as they passed by civilians and soldiers, the latter of which they dispatched off pretty quickly, as it was quite easy for Lucas to do so with his magic. He also had held from Olivia and Andvaranaut as they also used their spears to shoot lightning at the enemies, the two weapons were given to them by the court mage and they were pretty reliable weapons. Aslaug watched them and frowned as her own sword is unable to do the same thing, which makes her limited in terms of range, which in hindsight would've been useful when she had first fought against Lucas. 'Hmm, I guess that is a limitation I have.' Aslaug thought to herself as she rode the horse as they charged at the castle. Of course, the way to the castle wasn't quite easy as there were soldiers that tried to kill them but they were dispatched off quickly as they made the horses run faster as they felt the wind over their faces and skin as they charged, it was true for Lucas,

Lucas felt his power increase as the runes were becoming more attuned to his body as his own body was getting used to them as well as they were harmonizing as he ran towards the golems and his own brats as the others followed on their foot as they charged at the enemies. Alpha and the rest of the boys also noticed their Lord and the army coming towards them with Lucas at their helm. the guy himself nodded to them as he approached as they smiled at his acknowledgement, but focused back on the battle as they knew that it had more priority at the moment. Lucas charged forward, not about to let this opportunity go by as Aslaug immediately followed after him, being the only one who is equal ground to him, followed by Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild as they charged. He reached the nearest golem as his sword sang as he slashed it's leg as he passed one of his boys as he slashed off its right arm, grabbed it to have leverage before he plunged the sword into the golems head, got a foot

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the golems that were attacking them as he couldn't help but squint his eyes as he saw the things. His irritation growing at how much of a problem this new mage was being to them and how much he wanted to end his life so that he doesn't have to deal with all these things. By now the rest of his group had also spotted the golems as many of the soldiers paled at the sight while Andvaranaut, Olivia and Kriemhild were tense as they saw them. Aslaug just frowned as she looked at the golems, her expression hidden by the helmet. Lucas licked his lips as he growled at the sight of the enemy, the image of his wyvern being hurt was etched into his mind as he could vividly recall the sight of his charred chest and damaged wings. He was going to make them pay for what they have done. "Why don't you use your portals to just send them back." Andvaranaut asked him as they had moved back due to the assault. "It still costs me energy to use my magic. I don
