He didn’t even possess any power and was trapped in the body of an overweight man.
It was clear that many other clans didn’t accept him. They glared at Arthur with angry stares.
The sword was still hovering in front of Arthur, waiting for him to touch it.
What kind of plot twist was this?
A bright light appeared, and Arthur saw floating text that read, “True life is just about to begin.” He fell silent, pondering the meaning of those words.
Shortly afterward, the text vanished.
“That fat man doesn’t deserve the double-edged heirloom sword! He can barely even walk—something must be wrong. There’s no way he was chosen!” exclaimed a man from the Wolf clan.
“Exactly! That fat man doesn’t even have any power. He must have cheated and tricked us into thinking the heirloom sword chose him,” growled a member of the Dragon clan.
Arthur looked annoyed; many clans accused him of cheating, even though he himself knew nothing about it. He was just as surprised that this sword had suddenly chosen him.
In fact, he himself had thought that the Double-Edged Heirloom Sword would choose Zegan Xell, a very powerful wanderer. He mastered the seven elemental powers, was humble, and intelligent.
‘Where is that man?’
Was it because that man didn’t show up that he was chosen instead? It seemed something had happened to him, preventing him from attending the selection for the legendary double-edged sword.

Arthur touched the sword. If he managed to touch it, that meant he was truly the chosen one! They should all believe that he hadn’t cheated in any way.
“Look, I managed to touch it, and this sword is very obedient. That proves I’m worthy of being chosen!” Arthur said firmly.
Many were stunned to see that the fat man could actually control the double-edged heirloom sword. However, most still refused to accept it, believing Arthur’s abilities to be inferior to their own.
“Impossible! Do you actually possess some kind of control magic? We all know you’re a lazy human with no abilities whatsoever—you can’t even defend yourself!” exclaimed the Dragon Clan Leader.
“Don’t just spout nonsense! This sword chooses not only based on ability, but also on character and heart. If your heart is rotten, how could you possibly be chosen?” Arthur grumbled.
“You should also know that the double-edged heirloom sword isn’t affected by any magic!”
The Dragon Clan Leader looked extremely angry upon hearing Arthur’s words.
“Everyone! Do you believe this fat man’s words more? He’s just trying to defend himself. A thousand years ago, the Avtar Earth Heirloom chose King Aberforth because he was very strong and could control the nine elements of nature. The Avtar Heirloom would never choose someone weak and useless!” The Dragon Clan Leader continued to provoke the other clans so that Arthur would remain the scapegoat.
“That’s right! The Avtar Land heirloom has never chosen a weak man, let alone a fat, useless man!” growled one of the members of the Tiger clan.
The Dragon clan leader smiled faintly, as many were defending him. If the clans didn’t accept him, it was certain that the heirloom sword would be put away again.
‘Foolish man! I’m the only one worthy of that heirloom.’
Arthur could no longer contain his anger; he thrust the heirloom sword into the ground, causing a powerful tremor.
“I’m not weak! This sword has chosen me. If you don’t accept that, then you’ll have to fight me,” Arthur said with a firm voice and a piercing gaze.
Two men from the Tiger clan and three men from the Dragon clan immediately attacked Arthur. However, Arthur easily defeated them using the double-edged heirloom sword.
They were seriously injured; some were even killed instantly because the spiritual energy of the double-edged heirloom sword was so powerful.
“If you don’t want to suffer the same fate as them, you’d better all leave here!” Arthur commanded in a firm voice.
The entire clan finally chose to return to their respective territories.
Arthur never expected this to happen to him; it all happened suddenly and completely out of the blue. Chosen by the Double-Edged Heirloom Sword, yet hated by many clans.
They left, but not because it was over. They simply couldn’t stand up to the Double-Edged Heirloom Sword. Many still couldn’t accept that he had been chosen by it.
Now his life wasn’t just about his mother and work.
“Why did you choose me?” Arthur muttered, staring at the heirloom sword.
The sword briefly emitted a glow, as if responding to Arthur’s words.
Arthur thought of Queen Avtar. Whoever was chosen by this sword would be given the opportunity to spend the night with her.
With his overweight body, would the beautiful Queen accept him? Regardless of his physical appearance, Queen Avtar should still accept him because he had been chosen by the double-edged heirloom sword.
