Adrian’s knuckles whitened as he gripped the fire escape railing, toes scraping the edge of the rooftop. Below, the city stretched out like a treacherous map, neon lights flickering, streets scarred from the chaos of Phase Two.

The wind whipped violently, throwing ash and debris into his eyes, but he couldn’t afford to blink. One misstep, and he would plummet hundreds of feet into certain death.

Above him, the rider advanced with the calculated patience of a predator, blade glinting under the city lights. Lucas stepped closer, weapon in hand, his smirk a cruel reminder of betrayal.

Emily and Grayson shouted from behind, but their voices barely cut through the roar of the city and Adrian’s pounding heartbeat. He knew any hesitation could cost them everything.
