“Valmor, you haven’t left the army yet? It’s okay—after you leave, if you need a job, I can help! By the way, here’s my phone number, and let’s add each other on ChatApp too. Whenever there’s a good opportunity, I’ll contact you right away!”

Ravena was still as innocent and cute as she had been as a child. It was clear that she genuinely wanted to help Valmor.

Valmor smiled helplessly, saying nothing.

“Come on, Ravena, what kind of job do you think you can find for this guy? Even at his best, can it beat Miller’s annual salary of over 300,000?” Morrigan Vexley quickly interjected.

“Ravena, why don’t you just resign and work for me! I happen to need a secretary. You help me, and I can guarantee a monthly salary of over ten thousand!”

Zilton seized the chance to tempt her.

“Over ten thousand a month? Oh my, what an amazing opportunity!” Morrigan exclaimed dramatically. “Girl, you absolutely must not miss it! Brother Miller’s abilities are not something a poor soldier can compete with!”

The pair of schemers played in harmony, subtly pressuring Ravena, coaxing her with threats and promises, while continuously belittling Valmor.

“You guys are really too much. Valmor, let’s go. Don’t pay attention to them!” Ravena stood up angrily and pulled Valmor to leave.

Valmor followed Ravena, thinking that Zilton Miller and Morrigan Vexley were nothing but trash, not even worth teaching a lesson.

However, as soon as Valmor and Ravena stepped out of the barbecue restaurant, Zilton and Morrigan chased after them, pretending to apologize to Ravena, softening her heart so she didn’t say anything more.

Seeing her soften, Zilton quickly said. “Ravena, I’ll drive Morrigan home. Why don’t you come with us for a ride too? Don’t worry, I’ll take you home afterward.”

“Yes, Ravena, I’d be so lonely going back alone. Please come with me!” Morrigan took the chance to put on a pitiful expression.

“I’ll just take you to the intersection. You can go home on your own from there.” Ravena, still irritated, said calmly.

Zilton and Morrigan tried to coax her for a while but failed, so they all started walking toward the intersection together.

When the four of them reached the roadside, Morrigan quickly pointed to an SUV and said to Ravena. “Ravena, look! That’s Brother Miller’s new car! An Audi Q5, worth hundreds of thousands! Isn’t it cool?”

“That’s nothing. Hehe, Brother Valmor, if you work hard, maybe in ten years, you’ll have a chance to drive a car like that too.”

Zilton laughed and deliberately looked at Valmor with disdain.

Morrigan snickered softly, putting on a mocking expression, as if saying that even twenty years from now, Valmor would never be able to afford such a car.

“Ravena, I have to go now. I’ll come see you when I have time.”

Valmor ignored them and turned to Ravena.

Ravena, on the verge of tears, asked anxiously. “We’ve only just met, and you’re leaving already? Valmor, we haven’t even had a proper chat yet.”

“Mm, I’ll come see you when I have time. Here’s my phone number.”

Valmor nodded and gave his number. He was grateful to Ravena; the old house, which could have fallen into decay, was kept from ruin thanks to her constant care.

And all this was just a promise from childhood.

Unexpectedly, Ravena had really kept it! She was a loyal and kind-hearted girl!

At this moment, Zilton sneered mockingly. “Brother Valmor is leaving? At this hour, you probably can’t catch a bus. Want me to personally drive you?”

“No, I have my own car.”

Valmor’s eyes flickered slightly.

“What kind of car?” Zilton deliberately pressed. “An electric scooter or shared bike doesn’t count, you know!”

Valmor ignored him, holding Ravena’s hand, and walked toward the opposite side of the road.

“Hmph, so you’re trying to show off in front of me? I want to see how long you can keep it up!” Zilton snorted with disdain.

“Brother Miller, what kind of car could this guy even afford? How could he compare to you! Huh, that guy seems to be heading toward a car across the road. Do you think it could be his? What kind of car is it, and is it valuable?”

Morrigan asked, puzzled.

Zilton looked and saw that Valmor was indeed walking toward a car on the opposite side.

After focusing, he confidently said. “That car is definitely not this guy’s! Do you know what it is? A Rolls-Royce Phantom—only very wealthy people can drive it. Worth tens of millions, probably just a temporary stop by some noble family.”

Zilton and Morrigan’s eyes were filled with envy. They both knew that they weren’t even qualified to look up to someone who could drive a car like that.

However, Valmor was now getting closer to the Phantom, almost reaching its rear door.

“What is he planning?” Zilton wondered. “Is he going over there to take a selfie by the luxury car for social media?”

“Tch, I didn’t expect that guy’s vanity to be so strong, wanting to take a selfie just because he saw a luxury car. But doesn’t he realize that if he accidentally scratches it, he couldn’t pay for it?”

Morrigan mocked him coldly.

However, the next scene left Zilton and Morrigan completely stunned, their faces thoroughly slapped with reality.

They saw Valmor walk straight to the door of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Dannell, sitting in the front passenger seat, quickly got out, opened the rear door, and stood respectfully by his side.

“Valmor, is this car really yours?” Ravena asked, also a little shocked.

“Yes, Ravena. If you need anything, just call me,” Valmor nodded, getting into the car. Dannell closed the door and hurriedly took the front passenger seat.

The car started.

And drove off in style.

With this posture, this display, anyone could understand that Valmor’s current strength had already reached a level so high that even people who admired him couldn’t reach it!

“Th-that Rolls-Royce Phantom… is really his!”

“This… this is a genuine luxury car worth ten of millions!”

Zilton had originally wanted to show off his new car worth hundreds of thousands, but he never expected that the Valmor he had been mocking actually had a car worth tens of millions—money he could never earn in a lifetime!

For a moment, Zilton felt as if someone had slapped him across the face, burning with pain. Thinking back to how arrogant and showy he had been in front of Valmor, he realized he had looked like an ignorant monkey, leaping foolishly in front of a true big shot, wishing he could just crawl into the ground to hide.

What Zilton didn’t know was that Valmor had only brought two cars back this time: a military armored SUV and the Rolls-Royce Phantom. He hadn’t brought any expensive sports cars, deliberately keeping a low profile.

If Zilton knew all this, he would probably have been furious to the point of vomiting blood.

Morrigan’s eyes flickered, glowing with excitement. She ignored Zilton and ran up to Ravena, hugging her arm intimately and said anxiously.

“Oh my gosh, Girl, your friend is such an incredible person! Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I drank too much just now and was a bit rude. We should meet him for dinner sometime so he can properly introduce himself! I’ll sincerely apologize to him!”

Now, seeing Valmor driving a car worth tens of millions, Zilton’s modest hundred-thousand car paled in comparison, looking almost like trash!

At this moment, recalling Valmor’s demeanor earlier, Morrigan increasingly felt he was an extraordinary person. He hadn’t bothered to argue with her and Zilton because people like them, ordinary low-level civilians, weren’t worthy of speaking to him. If it weren’t for Ravena, she might never have the chance in her life to meet or dine with such a big shot!

At this thought, the materialistic Morrigan was filled with regret, wishing she could slap herself for being so rude to Valmor earlier.

Seeing Morrigan suddenly stop paying attention to him, Zilton was filled with jealousy and dissatisfaction.

He sneered. “Even if he drives a luxury car, you don’t have to fawn over him like that! Maybe he just rented it to look impressive.”

“Zilton, even now you still can’t accept reality? Valmor is undoubtedly a man a hundred times more successful than you, and only a man like him is worthy of Ravena! I advise you, stop pestering her in the future!”

Morrigan looked at Zilton with disdain, speaking without any courtesy.

“You—!”

Zilton’s face burned with anger. He wanted to lash out, but thinking about the blow Valmor had dealt him, his rage fizzled. He could only get into his car with frustration and drive away.

Morrigan watched him leave with contempt, then clung to Ravena.

“Girl, tell me more about Valmor! He’s not only a big boss, but also handsome! Oh, and give me his phone number and ChatApp too!”

“You used to think Brother Valmor was ordinary and treated him with disdain, mocking and insulting him. And now you still have the nerve to say this?” Ravena pulled her hand away and said coldly.

The words she had suppressed for so long finally came out. To be honest, seeing Zilton and Morrigan verbally humiliate Valmor had hurt her deeply. She had wanted to cry but could do nothing.

Now, seeing Valmor quietly but forcefully slap back at Morrigan and Zilton made Ravena feel gratified and triumphant. Her mood lifted.

Morrigan’s face immediately became awkward and embarrassed. She fled, taking a taxi away.

The night was cool as water.

Lying in bed, Ravena still felt a little dazed.

This childhood friend, Valmor, seemed to have a complicated background. She wondered what he had experienced over the years—had he suffered much, endured many hardships?

She clenched the keys in her hand. Her heart was a mixture of emotions. Tonight, she had wanted to tell Valmor that she had always been waiting for him, thinking of him, and that she had loved him since childhood…

On the road, the vehicle sped along. Inside the car, Valmor leaned back in his seat, eyes closed, resting.

Dannell Scott respectfully reported:

“Commander, Miss Sylverin’s situation has now been mostly clarified. The old Kross residence is indeed being diligently maintained by her.”

Valmor opened his eyes. Ravena Sylverin had kept her childhood promise, which surprised him slightly.

“How’s her work going?” He asked after a moment’s thought.

“Miss Sylverin is currently doing part-time work at a high-end bar. Otherwise, she studies diligently, preparing to take the exam for a government position. She has already registered; the exam is next month,” Dannell answered.

Valmor nodded. A girl so loyal and principled naturally would not be wronged by him. Not only could he get her hired at the government position, he could even let her run the entire department if he wished—it would take only a word from him.

“My Lord, regarding the Emperor Hotel incident, the Barbar Family has already ordered silence. Linzell Barbar has returned home and convened a meeting with the Barbar, Carter, and Stone families. It seems they are preparing to retaliate,” he continued.

Valmor smiled faintly.

The three families—the Barbar, Carter, and Stone —joined forces, giving the impression of being omnipotent in Smaora.

But in Valmor’s eyes, they were nothing more than three crawling cockroaches.

No matter how they jumped, a single command from him could crush these three supposedly dominant families in an instant.

Giving them a month was meant to make them feel, deep in their souls, the fear and despair of being unable to survive and unable to die.
