Chapter 4

Curiosity reigned. He then dared to step forward in the darkness.

The flash of light was getting closer. Now the shape is clear.

[Congratulations, you found the legendary item, blue eye pendant accessories. Made from Sirhaan wolf eyeballs. Can be used to control Sirhaan wolves. Price ?????]

"Wolf?"

Zach touched the pendant.

[Use/Save/Sell]

"Is this an error? Why is there no price too?"

[Are you sure you want to use the blue eye pendant? The effect of the pendant will not disappear as long as you don't replace or sell it.]

[Continue/Cancel]

Zack thinks about it for a moment. Since the price of the wolf eye pendant was unknown, he finally decided to wear it.

[Use.]

The pendant glowed and then disappeared into Zach's chest.

[You have used the blue eye pendant.]

"What just happened?"

A noise broke the silence. Something moved quickly toward Zach and then hit his back hard.

Zach was too shocked to dodge. He fell to the ground until his head hit the ground hard.

"Grrr... Grrr..."

Zach looked up.

The creature was growling in front of him. Saliva dripped between its sharp fangs.

"W-Wait..."

The creature growled as it surrounded Zach.

"Siberian huskies?" Zach raised one eyebrow.

The wolf pounced on Zach without warning. Nibbling on Zach's forearm like a puppy wanting to play with its master.

"Stop! It hurts!"

The wolf obeyed and sat down, sticking out its tongue. Its front two legs couldn't stop moving, wanting to bump into Zach again.

"Are you a dog or a wolf?"

The wolf jumped up and licked Zach's face.

"Hahaha. Stop! It's so ticklish!" Zach pushed away the wolf.

[The Sirhaan wolf monster. Level 10. Do you want to keep it as a pet?]

"Apparently there are pets too. Well, you want to come with me?"

The wolf's eyes lit up as if answering Zach's question.

"OK, I'll make you a pet."

[Yes.]

[You made Sirhaan wolf monster with level 10 as a pet. Are you going to give a name? 500 gold coins to change the pet name.]

"Why is it so expensive? I'll give you a name later after having 500 gold coins to complete the mission."

[No.]

[Your level has risen +10!]

[Sirhaan wolf level 10 ability can defeat lower level monsters and is feared by lowly goblin warriors. The level can be increased to ?????]

[10% sense of smell, agility, eye sharpness, speed, instinct]

"Wow, I'm so lucky!" Zach petted the wolf.

[Your current level is 27.]

[The storage warehouse has increased by 5 slots, a total of 15 slots.]

[The mission will end in 2 hours!]

"Ah, damn it! I lost track of time! Come on, let's get out of here."

Zach returns to look for easily obtained resources. Mushrooms, medicinal leaves, and wild ginseng.

This time, Zach is able to transport all of the resources without having to go back and forth. The Sirhaan wolf is in charge of dragging all of his belongings.

The mission will be over in thirty minutes. Zach dashed to the market to sell the resources he'd obtained.

Everyone turned to look at him as he entered the city. Even the NPCs were taken aback.

"Monsters!" shouted one of the NPCs.

"Don't worry, Madam. He's coming with me." Zach grinned.

"What? Did he bring a blue-eyed wolf? How come?" asked one of the NPCs in astonishment.

Several NPCs hid in fear when Zach passed them.

A player asked the NPC, "Is there anything special about that wolf?"

"It's a wolf monster! It shouldn't exist in this world anymore! It's so terrible!"

"After all, there's no way a new player would have enough gold coins to buy a pet," explained the NPC.

"I just found out we can have pets!" The players became excited.

"Sirhaan Clan wolves can't be kept as pets!" said the old man NPC, "Those are generation 0 evil beasts that should be extinct! It could be a regular dog."

Zach also heard the chatter of people. He just knew that his wolf was that rare. Inside he was excited but still put on a straight face.

"How many gold coins can I get, Madam?"

"T-Total 270 gold coins. Could you put your pet away for a bit?"

Zach held the young wolf in his arms. It's quite heavy and overwhelming. The wolf licked Zach's face adoringly.

"Look what the wolf did! Who exactly is that young man?" asked an NPC.

Zach ignored the whispers of the people. Then immediately turned towards the lake.

There, too, the players bombarded Zach with questions. Including a beautiful girl who attracted Zach's heart. And Zach finally knows what the girl's name is!

Rebecca Lewis asked, "Can I touch it?"

The Sirhaan wolf bared her teeth again as Rebecca approached.

Even though Zach tried to calm her down, the wolf still didn't want to get close to other people.

"U-Uh, sorry. I also just met her," Zach said awkwardly.

"No problem. What do you-"

Gordon's appearance cut off Rebecca's sentences. The man looked around happily.

"Lots of success! Congratulations, Players!"

The blue-eyed wolf suddenly barked at Gordon. Gordon squinted to clarify his sense of vision.

"I saw right." Gordon walked over to Zach.

The Sirhaan wolf growled again angrily with her fangs bared.

"Calm down," Zach whispered as he stroked the wolf's head.

Gordon's fiery red eyes appeared again. Zach's legs shook with fear.

"Interesting." Gordon grinned then turned back to where he was.

After everyone including the failed players gathered, Gordon announced the names of the winners who had the most coins and their prizes.

The first winner was won by a man named John Foster from England. He obtained 15,000 gold coins and two rare items.

The second winner was won by Rebecca from the USA. The girl was overjoyed when she received 10,000 gold coins and a rare item.

Zach clapped his hands excitedly. Rebecca came to her senses and then smiled at him.

Zach was happy to death. It was the first time in his life that a girl had smiled at him so sincerely! Moreover, Rebecca is a very charming person.

His heart was filled with flowers until he missed the announcement of the third winner.

"For the 96 players who completed the mission, you can continue up to the second floor or choose another time to enter the elevator. Your elevator will appear at the time you set and at the same location."

"And for the 4 players who fail, you can try the floor 1 mission again, or switch to floor -1 as long as your lives are still there."

The elevator appeared from the ground after Gordon finished speaking. Everyone enters the elevator according to the player number above the door.

Sirhaan wolf followed Zach into the elevator. Zach told her to go away but the wolf only got stickier. Finally, Zach gave in and let the wolf follow.

Once inside, Zach is given the option of exchanging gold coins for real money. He has a total of 649 gold coins. Every 100 gold coins equal $1.

"Fine," Zach muttered. "I'll just save up for the next mission.

The red writing on the monitor changed after Zach chose not to exchange gold coins.

[Are you going out or going up to the next floor?

Press 1 to repeat the 1st-floor mission for 100 gold coins.

Press 2 to go to the 2nd floor.

Press -1 to go to floor -1.

Press 0 to exit.]

The elevator door unexpectedly opened before Zach could press a button. The Sirhaan wolf, which had been lying at his feet relaxedly, jumped quickly.

The wolf growled menacingly, welcoming the creature in front of them.
