The chemical was created to enhance the human body to surpass its limits but it was not approved, it unstable and unpredictable because it reacted with the human anger nerves. Dr. Daniel was not about to leave his creation with Derick so he made it his mission to get it back. And Derick was trying to control his emotions, afraid of becoming a danger to his mother and himself because of the abilities the chemical gave him.
