Chapter Four 

Kingdom Of Asgard: Kate’s POV 

“All hail Asgard!” 

“All hail the Queen!” 

“All hail Asgard!” 

“All hail the terrain of the angels!” 

The courtroom filled with the loyal and noble citizens of Asgard ruled by Queen Catherine the first of the house of Webster as they all gathered to witness the birthday and official coronation of the heir to the throne.

I am Queen Catherine the fifth, fondly called Kate by the Queen of Asgard,  my mother.I kept smiling at my people with a little wave of hand, just the way I was trained and brought up to play my role as a  proper future Queen should do clad in my extremely tight golden corset with matching large skirt stacked with thousands of diamond pieces and golden rare gems. 

My curly full long red hair was neatly packed in a tight bun ,atleast that is out of the way with only a golden earring gifted by my father before he died as jewelry. 

The officiating priest in his royal robe  stretched out the golden septer as I moved forward towards the swearing stand just opposite the throne stool housing the crown in the middle of the great hall.  

I looked at the Queen who looked so proud as she smiled at me. 

“We are gathered today to celebrate princess  Catherine of Webster  the fifth’s eighteenth  birthday and to crown her as the future Queen of Asgard” 

“All hail Asgard” 

“All hail the Queen!” Shouted my subject as the priests continued reciting the rites while the choir played and sang beautifully in the background. 

The decorations look spectacular with the hall brightly lit with beautiful chandeliers filled with scented candle, the bouquet of food from different chef around the neighboring Kingdoms were in excess. 

Today is declared a labour free day to celebrate me,which is an honour and I know a day like this is coming  but I am more excited about the fact that I get the chance to learn of the deep secrets of the Kingdom of Asgard that only the Queen and the old  Elite of Asgard knows ! 

Another exciting thing that is making me smile widely is that I get to fight for real.On the battle field when a war comes, mother fought her first war since when she was 15 years old and she some how managed to maintain peace with neighboring countries ,so no war for me to fight but I trained … as the rule demands of a queen. 

“I promise to uphold the dignity of my people and land with the last breath of my life”  

I swore with my right hand in the chest and the left holding the septer. 

“With the power invested in me, I crown you the heir to the throne  and  the future Queen of Asgard “

“All hail the Queen!” They shouted with joy ,claps and the entertainers started beating the simbars. 

“Please feel at home my people “ I smiled as the quiet hall switched into a celebration mood with various entertainment,food, wines and sorvinoirs moving around. 

“Thank you my lady”

“Thank you my lord” 

I sat down beside mother as my subjects come to lend out their congratulatory wishes, flowers and gifts. 

When the long queue was finally over I turned to mother to finally ask her the question that has been itching me.

“Mother, when will you tell me the secrets of Asgard?” I asked with a whisper . 

“Not now my Dear, tomorrow after the carnival around the kingdom” 

“You can tell me a few please, I waited for seventeen years for this…” I almost forgot about the carnival. But who says that being a Queen is an easy thing. 

“Your highness, your highness” said a man’s voice interrupting my plea.

“Raise Luca, let me introduce you to my daughter officially “ mother said looking at both of us. 

“Kate this is Knight Luca, one of my soldiers and he fought well beside me” I looked at the man in front of me who looks really young , he must have been a soldier from a young age. 

I looked at him and smiled ,dismissing him while trying to get a way Mother and the Elite of Asgard can tell me the secret tonight Atleast. 

“Your highness,if you don’t mind. Can I have the pleasure of a dance ?” He asked stretching his hands to me while bending on one knee. 

Mother raised an eyebrow and looked at me mouthing “He is dashing” I rolled my eyes and opened my mouth to turn him down when she answered for me. 

“She will love to have a dance with you” I turned to look at her with a face. 

“It’s your celebration,it’s customary for you to dance beside Luca will be in charge of your safety and bodyguard..: you should get to know him” 

I rolled my eyes ,lift my heavy skirt and stepped down from the throne sit while I insert my hands in his , it wasn’t rough but it had scars and I really looked at him while we danced, he can dance and he is not bad looking. 

Made small talks with Luca and I actually enjoyed the moment , taking a bow immediately the beat dropped going back to the throne chair to pressure Mother into bidding my will. 

“Mother is everything okay?” I asked her when I saw the concerned look on her face and that of Elite of Asgard as they both talked to the army Commander in  hush tones. 

“They have come to get her “ was the only thing I overheard as I moved forward and gently touched Mother’s hands. 

“Is everything okay?” She turned and looked at me and for the first time I saw a flicker of fear in the Queen’s eyes. 

“We are under attack ,I need to go out there and fight while you stay here and take care of the people, your people” 

It was confusing, why are we under attack and for what reason? I turned to look at Elite for some insights but he nodded his head raising the golden septer. 

“Everyone ,into the safety dungeon. A war is coming” and the whole place went into panic as people began to move around with fright. 

I followed mother and Elite towards her chamber as the Commander brought out her amour and war clothes while she pulled out of the ceremonial gown with determination written all over her face. 

“Someone please tell me what is going on !” I shouted in frustration but everyone seems busy but I .

“I am coming with you to fight “ 

“That will be foolish, you stay here and guard your people and land” she said in a horrid voice. 

“I love you Catherine” 

“I love you Mother” 

“Stay with the Elite, Luca will be here too” I nod ,my pounding head and fast beating heart in rhythm. 

“For Asgard!” 

“For Asgard!” Shouted the centurion of soldiers already at her door waiting as they followed mother ,surrounding her while they left the palace where more men where waiting. 

I turned and looked at the hard expression on the Old Elites face .

“As the Queen of Asgard , I demand to know in detail what’s going on with my land!”
