Chapter 37

I walked over to Jake’s house which was just by my house’s side. It’s was not an overly large apartment. If there was one thing I liked from my uncle, the Alpha, it was his simplicity. He didn’t mind living in a house almost the sane size with that of his betas.

I knocked once and opened the door. Doors were never locked in the pack. We were all together as one. Jake was eating breakfast at the table. He was alone.

“Hey.” I said to him, walking to meet him.

“Morning.” He said. Then he pushed a box of cereal to me. “Are you hungry?”

I shook my head and looked around. “Where’s your dad?” I asked.

He mumbled something inaudible and shrugged. I took that as an “I don’t know.”

“Has he spoken to you already?” I asked again.

Jake shook his head and swallowed. “He said he’d do that with the both of us. Together.”

“Oh alright.” I sat down and prepared to wait.

“Do you remember all that happened? My memory is pretty hazy.” Jake said. He got up and took his plates to the sink.
