Gabriel drove the limo as Nathan sat in the back opposite of Liya’s sleeping form. She was still out cold. She didn’t even stir when he retrieved her from the room that Damon had summoned him to. Gabriel had shown up shortly after. Nathan had suspected that Damon had summoned him also for extra protection. They didn’t exchange any words in front of Aya and Jeff as she was still trying to revive him on the floor. She watched them and didn’t interfere as Nathan lifted Liya off the bed and Gabriel stood guard over them.

Nathan knew he was to protect Liya with his life. Damon needn’t say anything. She was his responsibility until Damon returned to protect her himself. She was safest at the house where Damon’ loyal servants were.
