CHAPTER 14: REALIZATION

How meaningless life was, wasn't it? Or perhaps it wasn't meaningless at all.

Styx was just a pitiable loser trying to fit his own reality into the world because he had become so detached from it.

He muttered to himself, "Even Helyx is so good at adapting to others! God, why am I like this!"

As Styx turned the final corner, he entered a narrow alleyway, built for the homeless.

People, dressed in tattered rags, huddled closely together, burning trash in a container to keep warm in this cold weather.

A small child among them stepped forward, coughing loudly and dryly.

Styx stepped back as he saw the approaching child.

He briefly glanced around this street filled with homeless individuals. Since many had holes in their clothes, they shivered and trembled in this windy weather.

Despite coughing and being sick, people were tightly huddled together. They probably didn't care about catching an illness; all they could think about was staying warm.
