CHAPTER 16: END OF THE FIRST ERA

When the car stopped in front of the police station, Styx nudged his brother to wake him up. Helyx jumped and looked around in fear, cold sweat running down his body.

The police officer opened the door and gestured for the twins to follow. First, Styx stretched, and then Helyx got out, holding onto his arm in bandages.

The police station's courtyard looked quite impressive.

The twins looked around in astonishment.

Colorful flowers lined the edges of the courtyard, and miniature trees, meticulously pruned into cube shapes, were arranged in neat rows.

Helyx tilted his head up to examine the massive fountain in the center of the garden.

At the very bottom of the fountain, hidden beneath the water, were symbols representing various faiths: a cross, a hexagram, a Buddha figure, and a five-pointed star with a crescent moon attached. These symbols were barely discernible due to being submerged, and the lower parts were covered in algae.
