"I don't understand how I was involved in this...." A young man stuttered, staring at the letter in his hands before raising his head to look at the figure in front of him.

"What the heck do you even think you're talking about." A feminine voice thundered glaring at the young man.

"Get the heck out of my office right now, you miserable thief!" She continued, pointing at the door.

"But...."

"I said get out!" The voice bellowed, pointing at the door, a scowl appearing on her face.

"I..."

"If you don't want me to call the police right on you and get you arrested for your crimes, then you should get the heck out of here right now!"

"I...."

"Now..." The feminine voice interrupted standing and banging the table out of anger.

Having no other choice, Aiden could only turn around and walk out of the office with a dejected look on his face.

He just couldn't understand what was happening and why this was happening.

A few weeks back, some of his colleagues had gotten into a fight. In the process, they had broken a few of the company's equipment.

He had tried to stop them, but his efforts were futile. In the end, when they finally stopped fighting because the manager came, he was blamed for not trying to stop the fight.

He wanted to explain that he had tried to stop the fight, but he was shunned. He was then told by the manager that he was the one who was going to pay for the damages.

And this was his punishment for not stopping the fight. As a result, his salary was slashed. But there was nothing he could do about it.

Then, yesterday, he was accused of embezzling the company's funds. This morning, the manager called him to her office and gave him the dismissal letter.

He tried to ask what he had done wrong, but was met with resistance and was chased out of the office.

He was even threatened that he was going to be arrested if he didn't leave. All for something he had no idea about. It was unfair, but could he fight it?

He had no power and thus was only able to accept his fate the way they came. There was nothing he could do about it.

Now, how was he going to survive? He had no job and didn't even know where to start from..

This was the job he had been doing for the past five years and to be suddenly dismissed was something he couldn't understand.

He didn't know what he did for the manager to hate him so much. He had been careful right from the start, he just couldn't understand how he managed to offend her.

Ring! Ring!

Just when Aiden was lost in his thoughts, his phone rang, pulling him out of his thoughts. Seeing the Caller's ID a smile appeared on Aiden's face and he picked up the call

Aiden!" A feminine voice came from the other end of the phone just as he answered the call.

"I..."

"No, let me talk first." The voice cut him off sharply.

"Aiden, I'm breaking up with you, I can't stand our relationship again, so let's break up." The feminine voice said without a hint of remorse.

Huh!

Aiden froze, hearing his shock and confusion flash through his eyes as he couldn't believe his ears.

"Amelia I..." Aiden shuttered.

"You can't even afford to give me a good meal, not talk more or less, buy me good clothes, shoes, bags, and many others. Why do you think you deserve to have me?" The rude voice came from the other end of the phone.

"I'm telling you now Aiden, you and I don't have anything to do with each other again. You're nothing but a useless loser who can't afford a good life, so we should go our separate ways. We're not in the same world." Amelia added Sharply and immediately ended the call.

Huh!

Aiden froze as he looked at his phone rather blankly, not believing his ears. First, he had lost his job, then his girlfriend had broken up with him.

Looking at his phone, Aiden decided to dial Amelia's number.

"Dear customer, the number you are calling is busy." The mechanical voice rang out just as he dialed the number before the call was disconnected.

Dialing the number once again, he was told the same thing. At that moment, Aiden realized he had been blacklisted.

He didn't know what to do at the moment and could only lament at his I'll luck.

Why the heck was this happening? Why was the world against him all of a sudden?

He didn't know what to do next and could only step out of the company like a Zombie.

He had no destination in mind and could only wander around aimlessly.

His head was filled with numerous thoughts and he didn't know how to sort it out

Ring!" "Ring!"

Just then Aiden's phone rang again, pulling him out of his thoughts.

"Who could be calling me?" Aiden muttered, not knowing what to do.

He was already hit with two bad news in a row and wasn't sure if he would be taking another bad news.

He was not too sure about it. And so he was lost in his thoughts till the call ended

"Ring! Ring!" The phone began to ring again before he could breathe a sigh of relief.

This time, he didn't hesitate and just brought out the phone from his pocket.

Bringing out the phone, he frowned as he seemed not to know who it was as it was just a number.

"Mr. Aiden, this is Dr. Maximus from Central City Hospital talking." A voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Yes, how may I help you?" Aiden asked slowly, his heartbeat increased.

"Your sister's condition has worsened. It'll be advisable for you to pay for surgery right away, or else we won't be able to guarantee anything if it's delayed." The voice explained, dropping the bomb.
