Chapter 8: Bottomless Valley (3)

"Don't come any closer, if you guys don't want this girl to get hurt, haha haha!"

Somi's face, which had been strong, was now tense. She must have been scared because there was a real knife approaching to hurt her. I looked around, the knights didn't dare to come closer because every time they came closer the knife was getting closer to Somi's flesh.

I was the only one within a few steps of them.

I pushed Roni away. "Run away," I said softly. "We'll just be a burden," Roni nodded and ran away. The bandit's laughter returned.

Khahahah! Weak nobles, why did you run away? ah... You didn't?"

Myru took a deep breath and held her small bag.

" Sir, wouldn't it be better to ambush an older child rather than a little kid like that?"

The bandit looked at me in surprise.

"Hmm unlike the little kid you're holding, I don't have any magic or swordsmanship at all, the point is I'm similar to an ordinary person. It will be difficult for me to fight you.

And even if you fail, at least you can escape with the money I'm currently holding."

Myru held up his purse and took out the contents, dozens of gold fell out of it making the bandit's eyes shine brightly.

"W-where do I know you're not lying, noble boy!"

The bandit was tempted by the gold but tried not to fall for it.

Myru took the gold back and put it in her pocket.

"If I were strong, I would already be fighting you, sir."

"Hmm looks like you're right. Alright, come here!" The bandit let me get closer to him.

" Don't joke around! Myru, shut up and wait! The knight will release you!" The Marquess shouted from the fig, he was ready to approach but his child's condition was almost in danger if he approached any further. The bandit couldn't help but laugh.

"Khahaha! It seems you are weak! They didn't even want you to come here!"

Myru looked at her crying sister. She was too young for this.

"It's okay." Myru approached, her movements were noticed and now she was at the back far behind sitting near the cliff so as not to escape anywhere. "Now my sister-"

"You fool? You foolish noble! Don't trust bandits! Khahahahaha!"

The bandit then threw Somy at me which I caught well. The boy's face was still pale.

"B-brother Myru..." She hugged me tightly, to the extent that it felt pain. Her sword aura seemed to be good enough for a child like her. As proof, Myru was sure this kid was stronger than him.

"You loser! Give it back, young master and young lady!"

Marquess looked at both of us with a flat face. Ben was staring at me as usual. It seemed like he couldn't believe the young master he served was prepared to be this stupid. He was on purpose, though.

"Where's the gold?"

Myru tossed the bag and the bandit eagerly accepted it. He jumped up and down with excitement when he realized the weight of the gold in the bag was quite heavy.

His face broke into an excited smile and he opened the bag. The color of gold adorned the contents.

"Oohhhh this much gold!"

The bandit stared at the gold in the bag and felt it wholeheartedly. His brow furrowed as he felt something strange.

He instantly dropped the gold on the ground and looked at it with cold eyes.

The gold was indeed there, but... it was just Somi's toy gold-colored stone that Roni had colored.

It was fake.

"You- Urgh!" he groaned, "let me go! you noble freak!"

The bandit was already dealt with by the Velreidom knight very quickly. Myru stared at the knight who instantly shut down the bandit's movements and made him struggle. "Good job vice-captain."

The vice-captain looked at me nodding. "Thank you for your cooperation, but next time please stay away, I must protect the Velreidom family even if lives are at stake."

The man with a large body because of the muscles seemed annoyed with Myru's nature. I just laughed flatly while looking back.

Wow, looking at this clearly... This ravine is so deep, even though it's still daytime, I can't see where the bottom is at all. Only darkness is visible. But true, the condition of this ravine is beautiful.

The ground he was sitting on seemed to shine like crystal and looked beautiful.

Such beauty masked the awful things around the place.

Aspiring sorcerer Roni cried out for her twin. Somi broke free from Myru's embrace and saw her crying twin from a distance. The girl who had been so strong earlier now started running and hugged Roni tightly, they cried together.

"Young master, let me help."

Ben offered his hand. I accepted the hand and woke up. My hands moved to dust off the area where my clothes had fallen just now.

Myru looked around, the knight now checking the surroundings in detail so that this incident would not happen again. Myru already knew if they could solve this quickly without the need for the help of useless people like her. It could be seen from how calm the faces of the marquess and the vice-captain were.

Still, she was a child.

I halted my steps.

The Marquess approached with a calm face, but there was emotion in him.

He couldn't believe that his child... his two children were currently almost in danger even though it was unlikely to happen as long as he and the Velreidom army knights were here.

"Get a doctor to examine Somi"

The servant rushed to carry out the order immediately.

Marko could not believe that his adopted son who usually never interfered was now moving to harm himself.

At first, Marko was happy that his adopted son was now starting to stay out of trouble... but it seemed like he was wrong because now Myru was even playing with his safety.

Marko approached Myru, the boy calmly dusting himself off while occasionally looking curiously at the bottom of the beautiful yet dark abyss.

He had to scold that kid for not being careful. But his face turned to panic when he saw a crack spreading fast. Very rapidly.

What?

My head turned to stare at the abyss

Just then, the ground I was standing on cracked. The voices of the surrounding people calling me frantically rang out, I could still see Ben's face clearly as he tried to pull me up quickly.

But gravity won, my light body seemed to float and got further and further away from the Velreidom group. Darkness began to cover the surroundings the deeper I fell into the abyss.

Should I have just stayed still? In the novel I read, there was no mention of bandit attacks. But I know that everyone in the family was still intact at the beginning of the story. The point is that even without Myru's help they can survive without any problems.

Wow, now my perspective is getting dark

If it's like this, maybe I'll be one of the people who can see the infinite abyss.... I hope I don't die this quickly, I'm still not satisfied from eating delicious food.

My eyes opened and closed several times. I don't know if this is the bottom of the abyss or not but.... wetness around me made me realize that this much blood wouldn't allow me to remain alive.

The fresh flowing blood I can see even though my sight is useless in the darkness.

This is the smell of my blood.
