Chapter 4

“Hey isn't that fireball freak?!"

Rex clenched the books in his hand as the two students in his year were coming from behind and they were openly making fun of him pretending to be whispering even though he could hear them very well.

” That's definitely him I bet he's going to practice that stupid fireball enchantment of his... Doesn't he ever get tired?"

They both chuckled but when they noticed that he wasn't giving them any attention they decided to bother him even more walking up to your side.

“Hey, buddy classes already ended for the day where are you rushing off to?"

One of them, a tall male with red hair, said placing his elbow on Rex's shoulder, Rex immediately stopped.

”I'm going to train...so do you mind taking your hand off my shoulder?"

He then gave him an icy look.

“You know...while it's still not roasted yet,”

The redhead immediately took his hand and then signalled his friend.

“Yeah, we have the stuff to do anyway later...”

As they had gotten a little farther from him they began to gossip about him again.

“Gosh, what a freak I just asked him where he was going...”

Rex was aware that this was what he had become at the school, from The Wonder first-year student to a complete joke, even the professors acted as if he did not exist at all; some had even casually hinted that he should just drop out from the University.

But he wasn't going to do that.

He had made a promise to himself, he wasn't going to waste his second chance and if the only thing you could do was that single enchantment then he was going to work himself to the bone until he was absolutely perfect at it.

Even if he heard the whispers around him the gossip he wasn't going to let take him down or quench his spirit. At least it was better than giving up. With that in mind, he kept his books away and then headed toward the training hall. When he got there he was surprised to see a poster on the walls that had his face on it.

Out of curiosity, he walked over to see what had been written about him and it was actually quite interesting, it read; the student in the poster is the fireball freak and we are protesting that the school bans him from the training Hall so that people with actual talent can practice without having to see his stupid face and that one enchantment of his.

Seeing that people in his own year were going so far just to see him kicked out was actually almost amusing, then he peeled it off to get a closer look at it.

“What the hell are you looking at you fireball freak?"

He turned around to see three female students from his year glaring at him as if he had started the plague.

” Did you guys do this for me?" he said in a monotone voice

“Why are you saying it like that? I took the pain of drawing them in order to get rid of you first this and then we'll have you expelled too!”

The girl that stood in the middle of the two said with a pompous tone.

“You are scared, right? I bet you would be just waiting - wait are you laughing?"

She yelled at him and then suddenly like a swift breeze and then he whispered in her ear.

” You must have looked at me for a very long time if you were able to draw me this nicely...“

She backed away.

”You p-pervert! What makes you think that you can get that c-close to me? You One e-enchantment loser...“

She then looked at her friends.

” Let's get out of here girls, it smells like burning trash...“

After they left he shrugged;” I better start training now...“

And with those distractions out of the way, he rolled up his sleeves and began practising his fireballs, even as he was practising some other students came by and said nasty things about him but he ignored all of them.

”I should see if I can gather energy in both hands today...“he said to himself as he closed his eyes spreading out his hands and then he felt the burning sensation again that run through his blood and made him feel more alive than anything else then he felt it gathering up in his fingertips swelling so much it seems like he was going to implode, he gasped and stopped.

”Ah this is harder than I thought it would be...“

But he smiled when he thought of that, this meant that he had a new challenge now and nothing excited him more than a new challenge he was going to learn how to gather energy separately from his hands.

Most wizards could only use one hand if they were using enchantments and if they were using the other it was to make the concentration of energy higher but only seasoned and exceptional wizards could split the energy and hold it in both hands.

So he began to train even harder that at one point he even burnt his hand because he was not handling the energy well enough, but even with those injuries, he was not able to hold him back.

One day he was even training in the rain. The water had soaked through his clothes and it was harder to gather the energy for his fire enchantment since he was both shivering and he felt like he was about to collapse but since he was still standing he closed his eyes again focusing on the energy on his hands.

Then when he opened his eyes he couldn't believe it, two spheres of fire floating in both palms.

”I-i did it!“

Then suddenly he heard a voice in his head.

”Fireball reached a max level(200)You can now learn a new enchantment.“

Rex staggered back a little.

”What the heck was that?“
