Chapter One: The Man Who Lost His Past

Heavy rain poured relentlessly over the deserted streets.

In front of an abandoned building stood a young man who appeared to be between twenty-five and thirty years old. His clothes were soaked, his hands were stained with fresh blood, and in his right hand, he tightly gripped a jade pendant engraved with the head of a wolf.

His brows furrowed as he desperately tried to remember how he had ended up there.

A sharp pain exploded inside his head.

The harder he tried to remember, the worse the pain became. Countless blurry images flashed before his eyes, but none of them stayed long enough for him to make sense of them.

The only thing he could remember was a single name.

Lucas Jordan.

Captain of the Wolf Cavalry.

Everything else was swallowed by darkness.

Behind him, a luxury sedan had been waiting for more than five minutes, but Lucas remained standing in the middle of the road as though he hadn't noticed it.

Finally, the driver rolled down the window.

"Hey, punk! Get out of the way!"

Lucas slowly turned around and pointed at himself.

"Me?"

"Yes, you! Who else?"

From the back seat, a young man around twenty-six years old frowned impatiently.

"Paul, make him move."

The speaker was Bryan Williams, the only son of Carter Williams, the notorious drug lord who secretly controlled countless gangs and illegal cartels throughout Metropolis City, the city that never slept.

Bryan glanced at his expensive watch before clicking his tongue.

"I have a date with Samantha Wills. If I miss it because of this nobody, he'll regret it."

The passenger door opened.

A muscular man stepped out.

Paul was one of Bryan's trusted lackeys and a three-time black belt champion. He adjusted his suit before walking toward Lucas with an arrogant expression.

"Brat, I'm talking to you. Move aside, and don't make me repeat myself."

Lucas remained silent, calmly staring at him.

Paul frowned.

That expression...

It felt as though he was being looked down upon.

His face darkened with anger.

Without another word, he threw a powerful punch straight toward Lucas's face.

Lucas casually shifted one step to the side.

The punch cut through empty air.

Paul's eyes widened.

"Huh... you've got some skills."

He removed his expensive suit jacket, tossed it aside, and cracked his knuckles.

This time, he rushed forward much faster before launching a powerful side kick.

Lucas didn't dodge.

He didn't even move.

As the kick approached, a strange sensation surged through his body.

The movement...

The timing...

It all felt strangely familiar.

Almost instinctively, Lucas raised one hand.

His fingers closed tightly around Paul's ankle.

The kick stopped instantly.

Paul's face changed.

The spectators behind him froze in disbelief.

Even Bryan, who had been watching from the car with complete confidence, slowly sat upright.

Lucas looked at Paul with an unreadable expression.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"Is that all?"

Paul's face flushed with humiliation.

He desperately tried to pull his leg free, but Lucas's grip was like a steel vice.

The more he struggled, the more unbearable the pain became.

Before he could react again—

Lucas suddenly yanked him forward.

Bang!

His palm struck Paul's chest with terrifying force.

The impact sent Paul flying backward.

His body crashed into the windshield of the luxury sedan before rolling onto the hood.

Crack!

The glass shattered instantly.

"Ahhh!"

Paul screamed in agony as he clutched his injured leg.

At that exact moment...

Lucas's mind exploded with another wave of memories.

He saw flashes of himself carrying out a classified mission.

Gunfire.

Dark corridors.

Hidden files.

A single name repeatedly appeared in those fragmented memories.

WILLS CORPORATION.

An intelligence organization that dealt in both legal and illegal information.

The memories disappeared almost as quickly as they had come.

But this time...

Lucas had remembered something.

Without hesitation, he walked toward Paul, who instinctively crawled backward in fear.

"S-Stay back!"

Lucas crouched before him.

"Where is Wills Corporation?"

Paul's breathing became uneven.

His entire body trembled.

He quickly pointed toward the northern street.

"B-Behind that alley... five blocks from here. You'll see a building with a giant 'W' logo."

Lucas nodded once.

"Thank you."

Without another word, he turned around and disappeared into the rain at an astonishing speed.

Only after he vanished did Bryan and the others rush over.

One of Paul's friends, Bright, helped him up.

"Bro, what just happened? How did you end up like this?"

Paul shook his head, his eyes still filled with fear.

"I... I don't even know."

Bryan's expression became extremely ugly.

"Useless."

He glared at Paul.

"You couldn't even deal with one man, yet you call yourself a heavyweight champion?"

Although humiliation burned inside him, Paul lowered his head.

"He... asked me where Wills Corporation was."

Bryan's eyes narrowed.

"What did you say?"

"Wills Corporation."

For a brief second, Bryan's expression stiffened.

He immediately took out his phone and dialed a number.

The call connected almost instantly.

"Sir."

"Find someone for me. He's covered in blood, tall, wearing a black shirt, and he's heading toward Wills Corporation."

"Understood, Young Master."

Bryan slowly lowered the phone before a cold smile appeared on his face.

"I want to know exactly who you are... and why you dared to touch my man."

***

Five blocks away...

Lucas stood silently before an elegant skyscraper.

A massive silver logo was mounted above the entrance.

WILLS CORPORATION.

He stared at it for several seconds before walking inside.

The luxurious lobby reflected wealth and prestige.

Behind the front desk, a beautiful receptionist greeted him with a professional smile.

"Welcome to Wills Corporation. Do you have an appointment, or would you like to make a reservation?"

Lucas looked at her calmly.

"I'm here to see your boss."

The receptionist maintained her smile.

"I'm sorry, sir, but you'll need an appointment before meeting the CEO."

"I need to see her now."

Her patience slowly disappeared.

"Sir, please cooperate. Otherwise, I'll have no choice but to call security."

Almost immediately, the chief security officer walked over.

He sized Lucas up before speaking coldly.

"Didn't you hear what she said? Leave before we throw you out."

Lucas ignored him completely.

His gaze never left the receptionist.

The chief security officer's face darkened.

He pulled out his taser and prepared to subdue Lucas.

Just then..

"Stop!"

A clear female voice echoed through the lobby.

Everyone instinctively turned toward the entrance.

A stunning young woman walked inside.

She wore an elegant casual outfit that perfectly highlighted her graceful figure. Her long hair flowed gently behind her, and a warm smile rested on her beautiful face.

She possessed an elegance that naturally drew everyone's attention.

She was Samantha Wills, twenty-six years old.

The daughter of Jeffery Wills.

The CEO of Wills Corporation.

Lucas looked at her.

For a brief moment...

Time seemed to stand still.

Despite his lost memories, he couldn't help but admire her beauty.

Likewise, Samantha found herself staring into Lucas's deep, calm eyes.

There was no greed.

No arrogance.

Only an unusual sense of peace.

It was the first time she had met a man whose eyes held no trace of desire when looking at her.

The silence was broken by the chief security officer.

"Good afternoon, Miss Wills."

She nodded.

"I'll handle this myself. You may all return to your duties."

"B-But, Miss.."

One glance from Samantha was enough.

The chief security officer immediately lowered his head and stepped away.

She walked toward Lucas with a gentle smile.

"My name is Samantha Wills."

She extended her hand.

"I'm the CEO of Wills Corporation."

Lucas looked at her outstretched hand before shaking it.

"I'm Lucas."

The entire lobby fell silent.

Every employee stared with wide eyes.

Samantha Wills had rejected countless wealthy heirs and influential figures.

Yet today...

She had willingly shaken hands with a complete stranger.

Even more surprising, Lucas showed no excitement.

To him, it was simply a greeting.

That alone made Samantha even more curious.

After a brief pause, she smiled.

"Would you like to come to my office?"

Lucas nodded.

"Sure."

As they walked toward the elevator together, another faint memory flickered through Lucas's mind.

It vanished before he could grasp it.

Still...

For some unknown reason, Samantha's presence felt strangely familiar.

Since waking up, she was the first person who had stirred something deep within him.

Perhaps...

The answers to his lost memories, the mysterious wolf pendant, and everything that had happened before today were all waiting for him inside Wills Corporation.
