Chapter 1
Prologue – Everything Falls Apart
“YOU’RE FIRED!” A thunderous roar echoed inside the room.Jie flinched as he clenched his jaw in silence. He somehow expected this to happen since he argued with the boss regarding his request for an increase in his salary. He had been working hard, and the company took advantage of it. Paying him less despite him working like a dog. Jie needed money. For his mother’s medication and his little sister’s schooling. If only his father hadn’t passed away, leaving them buried in debt.“Leave! I don’t want to see your face here. Ungrateful bastard!” The boss turned and sat back in his swivel chair. For a while, Jie stood frozen. Lost in his thoughts. What would happen to his life now? He had no savings. The only money he had in his wallet was a few hundred pesos, enough for three days.At twenty-five, he was far behind his peers. It didn’t matter, he’d always been in survival mode for as long as he could remember.“What are you waiting for? Get the hell out of here!” The old man glared at him.Jie finally mustered up the nerve to move his feet—like a robot without a direction. He was too preoccupied with how he managed to get out of the building. He didn’t know what to do. Instead of looking out for a taxi, Jie strolled endlessly down the street, hoping to clear his mind. It seemed that he was born unlucky. Jie was convinced that in this life, he was meant to suffer.A black van was rushing towards him. Jie turned his head as he heard a loud screech. He blinked rapidly as he became aware that he was in the shadowy alley and that the intense headlights were dazzling him.“Oh, how did I get in here?” he whispered.Jie’s mind was too busy to think that his life was in danger. Before he could react, two big men came to his side, used their brute force, and smacked his face with a sack. They had strange tattoos on their temples and sported all-black attire.“Don’t do anything stupid!” one of the men yelled out while his companion was busy tying Jie’s arms.“H-help!” Jie tried to flee. While his life flashed before his eyes.“Help!” He shouted as loud as he could and struggled to break free, but all this led to futility. These unbelievably strong men forced him to get inside the vehicle. Jie’s heart was pounding hard while his face was sweating, trying to get some air.“Please, let me go!” he begged. But the men remained quiet.Jie could not believe this was happening. He thought that getting fired from his job was the worst. What a twist of fate! Now, he’d lose his life.Do I really need to have this kind of distressful ending? The heavens must hate me that much!Life was never fair for him; even as a child, he almost had no happy memories to reminisce about. His abusive father gave them hell. Being the eldest son, it became his duty to protect his mother and younger sister.Jie chuckled at the hopelessness of the situation until he laughed out of desperation. He’d only take pity on himself if he cried. Besides, he was brought up in a household with the belief that a man who sheds tears is considered weak.“Shut up! What’s funny about dying?” One of the men seemed irritated, and he did not hesitate to hit the back of Jie’s neck until the latter lost consciousness.Jie had no idea how long he had been unconscious. He found himself lying on the cold floor while his eyes were still blurred, yet he could hear their voices in a language that he couldn’t understand. There was a familiar smell that reached his nose—the fragrance of Jasmine flowers. It made him wonder where he was.“Are you sure he’s the one?” It was a female voice.“Yes, we are sure!” A man answered alertly.“Good. It is time.” The female kneeled and leaned closer to Jie. “Your death will be quick,” she added in a soothing voice.Jie thought that he might be hallucinating. Did he already die? Was this girl an angel? Because he could hear a flapping of wings even though he couldn’t see her face clearly. Jie met her distinctly bright purple eyes.“Who... are you?” Jie’s voice stuttered. He finally surrendered especially when he saw the gold dagger stabbing him as if the winged woman was biding her time to take his life.Just as the face of the lady slowly became vivid, Jie felt the stinging pain when the dagger pierced his heart. The searing agony was unbearable.“N-no…” Jie gathered all his remaining strength, but his body didn’t move.“Let me bestow you a gift of words.” The purple-eyed female smirked before she continued, “We’ll see you on the other side.” She got up and laughed wickedly after ensuring that Jie’s heartbeat stopped. For the first time, Jie felt at peace. Perhaps dying wasn’t a bad choice at all. He only prayed that his mother and younger sister would be fine without him.Jie felt his body become lighter. He was levitating! Could it be that his soul traveled to paradise? He smiled.Jie wondered if he’d have a chance to be reborn. So that in his next life, he’d make sure to be the strongest. No one would trample him, and the world would be swept off his feet. There was a loud thud as if he suddenly fell. The force was so strong that all his consciousness faded away.

THE LOST GOD OF CHAOS Chapter 110 – Instructions
DESPITE Jie’s discomfort in the presence of Commander Hathrel and his soldiers, he could not hide his awe as he looked at him. However, he also knew he was at a great disadvantage, knowing that the elf commander was probably a seasoned warrior who won many deadly wars. And what about me? I’m surely dead. Jie thought. He even scanned his brain about countless war movies he had watched when he was still alive. Maybe it could help him formulate a battle strategy to win. Unfortunately, he couldn’t think of any. And even though he had deadly experience fighting in this realm, he only won out of desperation to survive with the help of his friends who had strong magic affinity.Perhaps I shouldn’t be afraid, this is just a game. Jie tried to calm down.“Planning to back out? If you do, you’ll lose your chance to see your little sister,” Keeva reminded him.“Shut up, Keeva.”“I met you at last, the most famous human in the archipelago, son of the deputy chief of the liberalist army.” Command

THE LOST GOD OF CHAOS Chapter 109 – Healed
IN Monte Peak, Princess Baharini requested Elder Chen to see Nyssa. The child was left in isolation to recover as she was battling with a severe traumatic experience.“Elder Chen, I can’t thank you enough for removing the shackle curse on me and Kafle. I have a favor to ask. May I see Nyssa? I need to talk to her,” Baharini said as she was on the balcony of the Great Healer’s residence. There was a heavy blizzard outside, and the house was protected by a thin shield preventing the snow from getting in. “She needs to recuperate. Although the curse had been lifted from her body, there’s a type of pain in her heart that I couldn’t heal. She kept looking for her brother, but I heard the Supreme General gave him a special task before he could visit.” Elder Chen poured hot tea into two crystal cups. He offered one to the princess, to which the latter accepted.Elder Chen continued to talk. “Although Nyssa could visit the Nefth Fortress along with the Knights of Terra, it's unsafe to do so.

THE LOST GOD OF CHAOS Chapter 108 – Conditions
JIE took a week to finally recuperate with the aid of Keeva’s healing magic that sped up his recovery. And with his current health condition, he could escape the fortress with ease. But Jie was not that ungrateful. “Now is the time. The supreme general summoned you,” Keeva said upon entering his room. She deactivated the healing barrier.Jie stretched out his hands and body to ensure nothing was wrong. Indeed, he was feeling better. He was in the hallway with Keeva, and they were escorted by two armored soldiers going to the war room where General Ibri spent most of his time. The soldiers saluted the supreme general, and they were immediately dismissed along with Keeva.“How do you feel now?” General Ibri asked without looking at him. He was busy scrutinizing a map on the table. It appeared like a colorful hologram.Jie strolled near him and cleared his throat before answering. “Better now. Thanks for looking out for me.”“That certainly isn’t free.” General Ibri chuckled. He finall

THE LOST GOD OF CHAOS Chapter 107 – Outside Forces
PRINCESS Tzeitel combined her fire manipulation technique with illusion magic to imitate the dark flame. Although her flame was lethal, it was not as destructive as the dark flame. She was just buying time to crack the barrier so they could get out, but the numbers of enemies attacking them were too much for her to handle.“I will never forgive the Elshers! All of you shall perish with me!” Tzeitel maintained his act of being possessed. As she kept attacking and defending without moving in her position since she was ensuring Izvern’s balance. She talked again in their mind link. “There are too many. We are running out of time.”But there was no response.Tzeitel released a significant amount of her mana to suppress the soldiers, who were already advanced. Fenton and Halix created a formation to trap them. It was not long before Lord Filus arrived; he summoned a fire net made of volcanic ash. Tzeitel and Izvern were caught. The princess tried to create an exit portal to escape, but th

THE LOST GOD OF CHAOS Chapter 106 – Hostage
TZEITEL jumped from one portal to another along with her captor. Her face remained stern, but her senses were keen as they made progress going away from the castle.Soon the face of the elf changed after he removed his dark cloak. It was Agni, using an advanced level of imitation charm. Although it did not last long since it was mana-consuming.“This plan is too risky. What if your aides disobeyed you?” Agni blurted out. He switched the elf’s body with his, all according to his sister’s plan. “Princeling is dying, by the way. I hope he can make it out of the barrier alive.”Agni gave the blade to Tzeitel. The latter tightly held on to her brother’s arm as they progressed in running away.“Worry about yourself. You need to return quickly to avoid suspicion.” Tzeitel was confident about her plan. “I’m waiting for reinforcement. All we need to do is get out the barrier.”Agni clicked his tongue. “I thought you’d kill the youngest son. Why did you change your mind?”“I gave him another ch

THE LOST GOD OF CHAOS Chapter 105 – Wedding Night
TZEITEL finally came into the bridal chamber. She sat on the bed and waited for her husband to come inside. The festive music from the banquet hall was faint, as the chamber was located at the back of the castle, surrounded by the lake. The place was surely romantic as luminous pink butterflies flew above the water and the bright full moon reflected on its calm surface. In Tzeitel’s mind, she was waiting for the signal from Agni. He should be done with his plan by now. However, before she could make a move, Cariux came in the bridal chamber drunk.“Oh, the princess is still awake, and she seems to be waiting for me. It’s already past midnight.” Lord Cariux sat beside her on the bed.“It’s our wedding night, Lord Cariux.” Tzeitel kept her head straight without looking at him. She patiently waited to see whether Cariux would make the move of ending her life on their wedding night. Once he did not hesitate to to the deed, she would not spare him. “Yes, our wedding night!” Cariux chuckl
