First Step..

The Sun was threatening to hide behind the mountain valley... So I let it go.

It was dark now. Probably around 7pm.

I sat in my room overthinking my future plans, and managed to wash away some my worries from the day.

Thump!Thump!

From across the door I felt the Princess approaching.

Now that I thought about it, it was a bit weird that I could sense a presence like in those Fantasy novels. Hmm. It felt like a shadow clad in a glints of purple approaching the void like door before my room.

After her were her guards. Probably..

I can't explain exactly how I felt but it was cringe asf! Anyways..

Did she have something important to say? After all it was dark and it was rare for a Princess visit outside the visiting hours.. Hmm.. Was she probably feeling guilty?

Knuu! Thud!

I wasn't given the leisure to think, and the door opened with a thud.

" You are in the Presence of Princess Shera Nox Darkstar! "

The guard who opened the door with a bang, Announced and positioned himself to one of the open door.

They came with such a bang, I mistook them for bandits for a moment.

"Bow!"

Said the other guard when he entered the door and positioned himself.

I got up from the seat, as calmly as possible. Only I knew how scared shit-less I was.

The guards looked tall and were buffed with muscles all around. No way in Hell can I take them on. Neither in Strength nor in Skills. Magic wasn't in the curriculum, yet.

Okay let me simplify it out for you. Blake was just 14 years old when he was summoned to this world. Moreover, He had been trained for just 1 month, before the protagonist ran away with his Crush.

But the knight?! They have been training for years in Ki and Swordsmanship.

The Growth of an otherworldly hero is extraordinary. Since they have been living in an environment deficient of Ki, they can quickly and eagerly absorb the mana from the atmosphere. But they can compensate for the years of training they lack.

Among the three people summoned by the Darkstar Royal Family, Blake showed the mot growth in regards to the Ki core and Physical abilities. That was one of the reasons why he was chosen as the Hero.

Now you would be wondering why Kale wasn't shown to have the highest talent? It didn't make sense, After all He was the Protagonist, the Strongest, The Almightly Dragon Monarch!

I hope he dies suffocating in a shit-ton of horse poop!

Well, I will answer the question when we pay our 'Courteous' visit to Melandoir.

As the purple veil of the Princess appeared form the Darkness beyond the door, I courteously bowed.

" I greet your Royal Highness "

When I turned to face Shera, I was Surprised.

She was left stunned, and so were the guards standing along the door.

A moment of silence, Their mouth were agape from shock, with their jaws almost touching the ground.

'd,Did I do something wrong?'

I wondered and slowly started to turn my face into an amicable smile..

'yes, yes. Lets talk this out'

but somehow my smile was taken in a different way and-

"Bwahahahahahahaha"

"HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA"

Both the guards burst out laughing. I was left stunned internally, but I didn't show it on my face.

' Should I laugh too? Like them?'

I didn't even think hard and started laughing like a maniac. Surprisingly I felt a bit relieved and the burdens I felt throughout the day, felt a bit liberated.

As I laughed with relief, Shera's Stunned face softened up and after a while-

"Pfff-!fufufufufufu"

She to started to chuckle in a restrained yet relieved way.

After laughing like dogs for a few more minutes, we cleared the tears that had formed near our eyes. I had a hunch about what was going on so I took another step...

" So? What did you want to say?"

I asked in a clearly informal tone. My heart was beating wildly.

" Oh! I nearly forgot why I came here! "

She exclaimed in a joyous voice. I was relieved that my hunch was correct.

Saying so she turned to the 2nd guard that had come in. He was holding a gray-colored scroll on his right hand.

" Your request has been accepted! Although Ane-sama wanted to inquire your motives for issuing such an order, it wouldn't cause much of a problem if its just for 2 weeks!"

She said with a bright smile and large puppy eyes.

"Thanks! You are the best! Shera!"

I said in an excited tone. looking back at her, she smiled even brighter. Her white cheeks were tinged red.

Looking at the guards... yeah, they were left stunned again. Well, if you get so easily stunned from this, You will soon die in 2nd calamity.

Looking back at Shera and her bright Smile.

Stupid girl.

I know how hard it is to lockdown the whole city of Nox for even 1 day. After all Nox was built with the intention to fight the calamity. If such an important city stops working it will be spell an economical doom.

I can blindly say that her sister was against my idea. After all she was one of the few people who didn't wish for Blake to be chosen as the Hero.

When Blake died in the 2nd calamity, she didn't even bother to see his corpse, she just called him pathetic. When the Kale was getting awarded for his heroic feats she asked for him to accompany her in her journey to the kingdom of the Fire Hero, Starburn.

Pat! Pat!

With a heroic smile, I gently patted her head as she purred like a cat under my hand with flushed cheeks.

When the time comes you would have to make a choice between me and your sister.

Of course, in every choice your sister will die.

That arrogant bitch of a Princess!

Maybe I will send her to some faraway village after breaking her and get her raped by bandits?!

Yeah, that sounds good!

A library.

Piles of books Littered around, The moonlight shone brightly illuminating the interior through a small window. On the table stood a Bowl, a goldfish dancing in the water, shimmering under the moon light.

An antique flower vase stood beside the Bowl. Lavender that oddly synchronized with the damp smell from old book, that stood tall in the shelves for god knows how many ages.

"Achoooo!"

The etereal dream was shattered by a girl.

Sitting on a comfortable chair, dressed in a dark purple night gown, Her Royal purple hair flew down to her waist.

A small book was held in her hands.

When she sneezed, her beautiful face contorted. But her sharp, yet arrogant features couldn't be hidden.

Purple eyes, hair with bangs illuminated by the bright moonlight and her arrogant yet beautiful face, smelled of mature beauty that couldn't be found her childish and petite sister.

Adrienne Nox Darkstar.

Placing the book down of the table.

She thought back to the day.

Her sister had come to her asking for a favor. She asked her to Lock down the city of Nox.

At first she was wondering what had happened. Upon probing her sister for one hour she finally blurted out everything and cried out of guilt.

I wanted to say her that it wasn't her fault that She left. Although I felt sad that Kale and Lisa left without saying as much as a word to me, I could understand their worries. Maybe they didn't wish to hold back Blake, after knowing he was a Hero. Or May be they were worried for their own lives.

But the situation had already seeped deeper before I could interfere and she blames herself for it.  Tbh, I didn't like the Hero much.

I don't know why, But I think Kale would have made a better Hero than him.

After taking note of her emotions, I had to reluctantly agree to her request.

"Lisa..."

When the discussions were over, She mumbled her name and said said something.

I didn't catch onto what she said, but the next moment she smiled.

It was a vibrant and bright smile, that should have eased my worries. But chills run down my spine whenever I remember that smile..
