Chapter 1
Chapter One
The building towered over him intimidatingly, the parking lot filled with luxury vehicles he could only dream of owning. Alexander Steele inhaled deeply and squared his shoulders as he moved into the elevator. It was his fifth wedding anniversary with his wife, Fiona Tudor and he couldn't wait to surprise her with the bouquet and present in his hand. "Do you have an appointment, sir?" The receptionist asked as he walked into the lobby and stood in the queue. "I am the president's husband," he replied, a small smile on his face. The lady glared at him, looking at his boots which were quite worn. "And you want me to believe that?" She snapped, "The president can't mingle with your type." Alexander sighed, he didn't know how else to prove he was Fiona's husband. For some reason, she had told him it was best to keep their marriage low-key to avoid pressure from the outside world. And it didn't help that Fiona's mother, Magdalene Tudor, hated Alexander's guts and was banned from ever showing up at the Tudor company again. Fiona had no idea what her mother had done and Alexander didn't want to cause trouble in the family, so he dutifully stayed away. The receptionist clearly didn't know him and she was ordering him out of the line to attend to others. "Get out before I call the security to throw you out!" She ordered and Alexander was upset but he had no say in the company so he stepped aside and watched as the receptionist told the other guest about him claiming to be the president's husband. They all laughed at him, "He has no class, Miss Tudor would never marry him," one of the women said scornfully. Just when Alexander was about to walk out, he saw a familiar face, his brother-in-law, Gilbert. Gilbert was not the friendliest of persons, in fact, Gilbert also hated him and believed he wasn't worthy of his beloved sister. But at least, he figured Gilbert would allow him in. "Hello, Gilbert, I'm here to see Fiona," he said and the young man stared at him with a disgusted look. "If you're going to show up in the Tudor company then the least you can do is dress properly, haven't you disgraced my sister enough!" He spat. Alexander looked at his clothes. It wasn't bad, his jeans were cleaned and so was his shirt, "I'm coming from the factory and I've tried to change up," he replied but Gilbert snorted and wanted to walk away. "The receptionist won't let me in," he called out but Gilbert shrugged, "I thought mother told you never to show up here again," he reminded him. "Today's our wedding anniversary, I want to surprise Fiona, I won't take long, I'll be in and out before anyone notices," he explained calmly.Gilbert was about to ignore him when suddenly he smirked and nodded, "You really want to see my sister?" He asked and Alexander nodded. "Good, maybe it's high time you see for yourself," he muttered under his breath. Alexander had no idea what he meant as Gilbert ordered the receptionist to let him pass. As Alexander stepped out of the elevator, his bouquet of roses in hand, he tapped on the office door twice and then opened. He froze. It dawned on him what Gilbert had meant in the lobby. Fiona was in the arms of another man, they were kissing right in the office and as he entered, she looked like she'd seen a ghost. "Alex, what are you doing here?" She asked, her tone breaking. The man beside her didn't look remorseful, he placed his hands on her shoulders and drew her even closer, looking at Alexander daringly. "Is this him?" the strange man asked and Fiona nodded. "What are you doing with my wife?" Alexander asked, his tone high and obviously upset. "She's no longer your wife, loser, she's now discovered her true value," he sneered at him and then kissed Fiona's cheeks. Fiona didn't say anything, in fact, Alexander noticed her draw even closer to him and melt into his arms. "What does he mean?" Alexander asked. "You didn't tell him?" The man asked Fiona and she shook her head, "I didn't seem to find the right time," she replied, sighing. "Tell me what?" Alex asked as Fiona marched to the drawer beside her desk and drew out a folder, she fumbled for a moment and then pulled out a sheet, handing it to him. "You need to sign this, Alex," she said, her voice cold. Alexander took the sheet and stared in shock as he saw 'DIVORCE AGREEMENT' boldly written on it. "Divorce? Is this a prank?" He asked and she sneered at him. "Don't make a fuss, Alex, just sign the papers and leave, it's been finalized already," she snapped at him and handed him a biro. "Is it because of him?" Alex asked, he couldn't help frowning at the man before him. He wasn't handsome in any way, he was short and very unattractive with strong bony features. "Don't you dare talk to him like that, he's the head of all the oil mines in the city, he's a billionaire, something you could never be!" She snapped and went closer to the man, laying her hands on his shoulders. "Sign the papers and get out, boy, I'll give you some money as compensation, I know that's what you want," he said, smirking and drew out his cheque book. He wrote down some millions for him and handed him the cheque. "I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, Fiona," he said but Fiona rolled her eyes at him, telling him to sign the divorce papers quickly. "I've fallen out of love with you, Alex, just take the money and leave," she advised. "If that's what you want," Alex said and signed the papers, dropped the bouquet on the table and left the man with his cheque still in hand. It was high time he broke out of the Tudor family.

The Ordained Heir Chapter 35
The fire and fight visibly drained out of Margaret and she sagged on the floor, laying the hammer down and raising her hands in surrender. The guards got to her and grabbed her by the arm, hurling her up from the floor and steadying her. It was right then that the waterworks began. Margaret began to cry fiercely, asking for Alexander's forgiveness. "Please, you said we could sorry this out, you said you'd wave it away like it never happened. I know that you're the young master, please help me!" She begged, sobbing and struggling against the guard's grasp. Alexander looked at her, he couldn't believe how easily it had all gone south. His office was a mess, he'd just accused the secretary wrongly and now he was going to have to send someone to jail and he wasn't even a month old in the company yet. "You brought this on yourself, Margaret, you have to take responsibility for it," he replied plainly. She shook her head and kept crying, "You said I should step away, you promise

The Ordained Heir Chapter 34
At that moment, Margaret realized that someone else was in the office and she froze. Her eyes widened as she saw Pamela and Alexander and she quickly jumped down from the chair, landing on the floor and twisting her ankle. She cried out and held onto the table for balance. Alexander was a little too stunned to say anything, he simply looked at her, he just couldn't believe his eyes. No more was the timid and meek woman he saw at the office every other day, dressed in moderate clothes and acting like she couldn't look anyone in the eyes. In her place was a woman that looked fierce enough to take down both of them in a blink. She was breathing heavily through him enough, her hair was a mess of cobwebs and she was drenched in sweat. "What are you doing here, Margaret?" Alexander asked, his voice low, disbelieving, disappointed. Margaret didn't look remorseful at all, she sneered at him instead. "What do you think I'm doing? Of course I'm taking what I want!" She snapped. Pame

The Ordained Heir Chapter 33
At the top floor, Alexander walked as stealthily as he could, making his way down the hallways quietly, he turned to the left where the cafeteria was nestled before the main offices. He couldn't see anyone in sight. Usually, no one was ought to be in the office before 7:00 a.m. There was no staff who would come so early unless they had ulterior motives or a job to complete. The security down stars most have given Pamela access because she was a staff and it didn't matter how early she wanted to come to the company, she was an important person there had no one could stop her - especially when they all knew she was the one making the payroll and decided who should be fired and who stays. Alexander crept up the hallway and walked slowly to the office line up but he suddenly bumped into someone on his way. The hallways were still dark and that meant whoever was there had left the lights off to avoid being seen and turned on the light only in his office to go through his files. S

The Ordained Heir Chapter 32
The accountant in his office was shaking like a leaf. Alexander had been questioning him for the last thirty minutes and although the man said the same thing, he was visibly nervous and would rather be anywhere but there. "You're sure you have never missed a few transactions? Huh?" He asked again and the old man shook his head. "No, sir, all I have to do is redirect into the company's account and then the auditors bring an inventory of all our equipment and whatever other expenditures there are for the month. I've never missed any record," he said, his tone pleading. Alexander was not a bully. As a matter of fact he'd been at the other end of that stick for quite a while to know not to treat someone else like that. As much as he wanted to get the culprit and bring justice, he wasn't willing to bully someone into admitting it when it really wasn't them. At that point, after a few hours in the air conditioned room and still managing to break into sweat, Alex was sure the accoun

The Ordained Heir Chapter 31
Margaret's breath might have stopped for a while as Alexander spoke. Her eyes widened and she began to fidget. Her heart was hammering in her chest like she was going to have a seizure soon. "Are you okay?" Alexander asked her and she nodded but she looked anything but. Her face was red and she was visibly hyperventilating. "Take a seat, is everything okay?" He asked, concerned with her sudden reaction. Margaret nodded and grabbed into the edge of the table, slowly lowering herself to the seat. "I've been...it's..." She stammered but Alexander cut her in. "Calm down, I know that you just took over from Simon and all and you don't really know everything about the records but I think you can help," he said and she kept on staring at him like something was wrong. "I asked you the other day and I think you wanted to say something but there were too many faces, could you say it now?" He asked and she hummed. "Come on, Margaret, don't be afraid, is there anyone suspecting you might

The Ordained Heir Chapter 30
Alexander was oblivious to the plans of his in-laws against him. Not only had Grace found a way to get his attention but she was going to set about it in the worst method possible. Fiona didn't want to be a part of it because she was still ashamed of how it had gone down the last time at the police station with Uncle Benson but Grace was a little more optimistic. She had crafted out a cruel scheme that had to work one way or the other. Alexander showed up at work the next day, he had a few investors to meet from Germany and he was very pleased to receive them. Not only was he trying to grow the company but he was trying to get some connections for himself too. Miss Pamela had oddly been unavailable since the phone call at the storage room that day and although the P.A mentioned that she had called in sick, Alexander didn't believe that at all. It was about 10 o'clock when Margaret tapped on his office door and told him that the investors were down stairs and ready to meet with
