Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Jake had just finished his daily part-time work. He smiled sheepishly each time he remembered he was going back home to meet his girlfriend. Bella had always waited for Jake to get home each time it was his paycheck.
“Here you go. This is your pay for the month of November. I must commend you, Jake. You did a very nice job, so I decided to tip you with $50 more.” Jake's boss said with a smile, “Thank you, ma.” Jake said with his smile as he bowed his face to the ground. He felt relieved. Bella would always claim more than eighty percent of his salary each time he was paid, but Jake wasn't bothered. It was the things you do for love. He immediately counted the money as his boss walked away. It was simple; he was going to get her the handbag he had seen at the boutique earlier on. Jake's cheap Samsung phone rang loudly. He quickly clutched his pocket as he ran towards the men's bathroom. Some of his colleagues knew who was calling. They whispered behind him and laughed each time he was not there. “Another calm from Miss World.” One of them said, and they all roared with laughter. “I can't believe he had never changed that phone since he got here. Where the hell is he pumping all that money into?” Another said Jake entered the toilet and immediately picked up his call. “Where the hell did you keep your phone?” Bella yelled at him over the phone. “But you do know I was at work. Phones are off-limits, and my boss mustn't even catch me. What is the matter? Jake asked “You do know you are getting paid today, right?” Bella told him immediately. “And?” Jake replied. “I will be waiting for you at home, and you better not be late.” Bella said coldly, and the line went dead. Jake hung his head, feeling a little down, but then he cheered up, remembering that he was going to get her the fancy handbag. That should make her let him off this hook this time. Jake wanted to pay his tuition f*e for the semester, and not paying in time means he is going to have an extra year while his mates go on to the next class. The day went fast, and soon they were done with work. As Jake got into the boutique, he immediately went for the bag he had seen earlier and paid for it. It was nearby, wrapped with the word, ”I love you.” Jake got her some flowers too. As he got home, he was met with a cold attitude once again from Bella, who didn't welcome him. “I got you this.” Jake said slowly with a sad face. Bella raised her eyebrows to look at the gift he had brought her. “Is this for me?” Bella asked, staring at the bag sheepishly. Jake nodded and went into the kitchen to fix lunch immediately. They had finished earlier than expected at work today. “So how much was your salary?” Bella asked “I was paid enough for my tuition f*e. I had to pay that tomorrow.” Jake said from the kitchen, and the tension grew harder between them. Jake wakes back in with the bowl of noodles he wanted to eat. He wondered what Bella had been doing on the phone ever since he got back in. “Are you busy?” Jake asked Bella didn't reply as her gaze was fixed on the screen. Jake kept mute and continued to eat his food. After some time, Bella threw her phone at him. “That is the list of what I am ordering.” She said with a smirk across her face like she was expecting Jake to say something. Jake grabbed her phone, and color drained from her face. “What?!” He shouted as he choked on his food. He stared back at Bell, who didn't see a big deal in what she ordered. “I am sure your monthly salary can foot all that.” Bella stared at him. “But I bought you a designer bag. Can you just manage this, and I will get you all of this next month? This money is for my…” Jake was about to complete his words when Bella snapped at him. “This again! All you ever do is complain ever since we started dating. It is either you need to buy some textbooks or some exercise books. You are never buoyant enough to take me on a proper date, and you can't even get yourself new stuff. Look at the phone you have been using; that is cheap, and you can't even buy yourself the latest iPhone. All you do is complain about how poor you are, Jake. I am beginning to get tired of this relationship already.” Jake was lost; the money he was having was definitely for his tuition fees, and not paying it means he would have to have an extra year. “Can't you be understanding? That bag I got you cost a lot, and it is even the listed trend.” “This? You call this garbage the latest trend?” Bella picked the bag up, and immediately the handle broke. “This is fake! I can't believe you are so dumb to even realize that. The words were hitting Jake in the gut. He wanted to talk, but the fear of losing Bella gnawed at him. He can't lose her right now, not after everything he had to endure for her. He knew this was going to cause a rift between them, but Jake was ready to work extra time and make sure he gets the money to buy her just what she asked for. “Can I get all of this later? Just give me time to work for the money.” Jake said apologetically. “Give you time? And what happens to the money you are holding? Can't you fix my cart and get your tuition f*e later?” Bella bellowed at him. “But Bella, the portal closes tomorrow.“ Jake looked at her face. “Wait! How is that any of my business?” Bella replied. The atmosphere was thick with tension as Jake stared at the cold-faced lady who was his girlfriend. He was about to talk when a message popped up right in his hand. Jake read the message, and his face went pale.Expand

The student billionaire Chapter 11
Jake stood over the threshold of the mansion, looking up at Mr. Alistair Grant. He was powerful, confident with an immaculate tailoring of his suit—looks would kill, Jake noted with cold intensity behind those piercing sharp eyes. Jake felt about as experienced as a nine-year-old stepping into a game he hadn’t even been told the rules of.“Mr. Milton,” Grant said, offering a hand. He was unyielding, demanding respect yet providing none in return. “I hope you’re prepared to prove yourself?Jake looked at Klaus, and Klaus nodded once. Jake swallowed his nerves and sat up straight. “I’m ready.”Grant’s lips curled into a semblance of a smile. “Good. Follow me.”The three men waited in the mansion’s private conference room, whose grandeur was meant to intimidate. A long mahogany table filled the space, ringed by high-backed leather chairs. Grant waved Jake to a seat while Klaus watched silently from the side.“Let’s cut to the chase,” Grant said, setting down a briefcase, which he unlocke

The student billionaire Chapter 10
The heavy mahogany doors of the mansion swung open to the sound of Jake's heels striking the marble floor. The events of the day played over in his mind like a scratched record: the gasps, the stunned faces, Maxwell’s infuriating smirk. Sure, the might of the black card had astonished everyone, but deep down inside, Jake had doubts.“Good to have you back,” Klaus said, voice clean, smile near predatory. He stood at the foot of the grand staircase, hands clasped behind his back. His eyes glinted with something Jake couldn’t quite place — pride, amusement, or maybe speculation.Jake hesitated. “I… don’t know what to do next,” he confessed, his voice weighed down with exhaustion. “I feel like I’ve proved a point here today, but I feel like I’ve just unlocked a door to something bigger — something I’m not ready for.”“Exactly,” Klaus said, coming down the stairs. “You’ve made the first step, Jake. Power is not about single victories, however. It’s knowing the lay of the land and playing f

The student billionaire Chapter 9
Everyone looked at Jake, and for a minute, silence swept through the entire school premises. Bella looked at Jake awkwardly, and Maxwell did the same. Both were astonished to see his manner of talking, and for a moment, they could feel his anger and not only that, the way he had carried himself. The bullies all stood still, not sure of what to do. One side was offering one hundred dollars, and on the other hand was someone who was willing to pay more. “Who should we side with?” Tiger asked, looking at Scorpion, who was their boss.Scorpion's gaze fell on Jake. “Can you show us your money?” he said, scrubbing his chin.Everyone shifted their attention back to Jake. “I don't have the money, but I have enough to go around in this. All you have to do is get this bully off the school premises,” he said with confidence.Maxwell and Bella let out a laugh that made all other students do the same. “What’s funny, dickhead?” Jake shouted, clenching his fist in anger.“Did you just ask me that? The student billionaire Chapter 8
Jake had his hand clamped together as he looked at Stella and looked back at Stella, who had a smirk on her face. The man in front of him was well seated as he kept his gaze on the table he had in his hands. He occasionally looks at the wall clock on the wall and back towards the entrance to see if Josh was coming out anytime soon. Josh came out with a worried look on his face. “What is it?” Klaus Ashwood looked at him. “I don't think the result is coming out anytime soon. We need to wait for at least two days.” Josh replied. “I said it; I knew there was something off about him the moment you told me he is the one. Are you sure about this?” Stella said with anger. Klaus gave her a look that meant for her to keep silent. “Okay, Josh. Thank you.” He said removing his spectacles Klaus turned slowly and looked at Jake. “I want to believe I am never wrong. I am going to give you this because I know you are going to be needing it.” Jake looked at him as he dipped his hands into a black

The student billionaire Chapter 7
So what are you going to do about it? See a loser like you talking as if you are the son of the president. We both know you are nothing but a charity case. I can actually help your course. All you need to do is fall down beside your adopted mother and beg me to forgive you.” Maxwell said with a smug grin on his face. Jake looked at the students' faces and back at Bella, who was also enjoying the show. It wasn't a show to him anyways. It was more of a humiliation, and Maxwell was winning. “And what if I don't? You are nothing but a bully, and I wonder why everyone is not seeing you for who you truly are.” Jake snapped, clenching his fist in anger. “And what are you going to do about it? I didn't ask to be born with a silver spoon. It just happened, and you,” Maxwell laughed and spat in front of Mrs. Penelope. “Like I said, I am going to let this go if you fall at my feet.” The school head stood and watched, trying to maintain balance; he knew someone like Jake, who had nothing to lo

The student billionaire Chapter 6
Jake's eyes darted around the whole building. He watched in awe and wondered if he actually belonged to this type of family. A young lady walked out of the building, her eyes looking at Jake with disdain. “Do you think he is the real deal? I mean, look at him. He looks more like a beggar to me.” Stella said with sarcasm. Jake said nothing, his mind a whirlwind of what the man who had picked him up earlier had told him. “Well, we are going to know right after we take a few drops.” Stella said again, eyeing him. “Few drops? Of what?” He said almost immediately. The man walked out again with a man in a white uniform. “Are you sure he is the real deal?” He looked at the man. “Just take the damn blood samples, Josh. I don't have the time for any of this.” He snapped at him. “Fine.” Josh said immediately, walking towards Jake with a syringe. “This is going to sting a little.” Josh said, looking at Jake as he rolled up his clothes. “Why do you even need my blood samples when you had me
