BOOK 3 CHAPTER 20: THE INVESTMENT

After eating ang some retouching, Jessica and Vincent went down the lobby to eat some lunch. Although Jessica is still full because of the heavy breakfast she ate earlier, they still need to blend in. She is still surprised, though. Because despite having some rough hands when it comes to fighting and stuff, Vincent has an incredible touch when it comes to cooking. He is the best compared to the cooking of his sister—which sometimes end up in a disaster. One time, Violet was cooking dinner at HQ, she ended up burning one floor of the HQ because of that. It’s not that she is insulting the cooking of her captain, but yes, Vincent is much greater cook than Violet. No wonder he is loved by his family. The two are now at the dining are. The aroma of high-end food hit Vincent’s nose. And even though he just ate breakfast and is practically full, his digestive system somehow increased and his food earlier got digested quickly. They sat down at the middle of the dining area and all of a sudden, the bosses from last night sat next to them,

“Good morning, newbies. How’s your day at this fantastic place?” Pedro asked.

“Did you have a good night’s sleep?” Yuji followed.

“Yes, indeed. The accommodation is top tier. No wonder this is some kind of haven! It’s wonderful. I might visit again sometime when I had the time when I am not busy in my coming business.” Vincent replied.

As they were talking, a waiter came and asked for their orders,

“I’ll have the best steak in your kitchen, please.” Vincent says.

The others ordered the same thing but different cooks. Vincent is fond of a well-done steak, so that’s what he ordered.

“Anyway, since you’re an up-and-coming business. Having more investments can guarantee your future in the underworld. Drugs is a great start. But having firearms and all sorts of illegal stuff can make you through,” Agatha says.

“I have the biggest firearm factory in my city, it’s illegal of course. I’ve been supplying prisons weapons to start wars and have some breakouts. Agatha here and her business excels in making explosives. And Yuji, party drugs. So, since we’re new friends, we’ll give you an offer you can’t decline.” Pedro smiled as he looked at the others.

“Invest 50 million to all of us, and your future in the underworld business would be secured. And with us as your connections, I guarantee you, it will be as easy as hell!” Yuji pointed out as a smirk was revealed in the face of the other boss.

Blend in. Even though Vincent doesn’t want to spend 150 million GAMs in this mission like that, he has to.

“Okay, give me your accounts and I’ll send the money—”

“No! We don’t do that way. Transactions like that is from the old age. Cash. That’s what it is when it comes to transactions nowadays. Cold cash!” Agatha laughed.

Vincent laughed with them. But Jessica is unsure of this decision. For her, it is somewhat reckless and dangerous. Vincent’s money is not guaranteed to return, since their squad will only cover the entrance they’ve paid and not the other expenses they will make during the mission. Besides, Vincent is the youngest and 12^th son of the Miles household, his inherited money from their companies might not be that high.

“Okay, let’s meet at the VIP lounge at 1 later. I’ll give the investment money.” Vincent smiled.

“Now, we’re talking!”

They all laughed. After eating their lunch, Vincent and Jessica went out to withdraw some cash from the bank.

“It’s reckless. I’m telling you. 150 million?! Are you crazy? Spending that kind of money makes me think that you are not used to be a noble!” Jessica argued while they walked.

“Yes, you’re right. I’m not used to be a noble. Which is a great thing. Since I only want to become a noble in blood not in attitude and morals. I’m a hero, that’s what I am right now. And being a noble is just extra credit for me. In any case, I have to withdraw—”

“No, I will be the one to withdraw. I have more money than you, you know.” Jessica grinned.

Vincent chuckled,

“Showoff. Now, the bank, take of your disguise and go in there. Let’s go in this alley first.” Vincent instructed as they then went inside this dark alley.

Vincent then covered themselves with his earth powers and asked Jessica to take off her clothes so that they can proceed. But the awkwardness kicks in. Jessica is a woman and Vincent is a young man. It’s inappropriate.

“Turn around for me, will ‘ya?” Jessica scolded.

Vincent nodded and then turned around. However, as Jessica begins to undress. Vincent remembered that he has advanced vibration senses. And those vibration senses help him visualize things without even seeing them. So, as Jessica changes clothes, Vincent can see her body so vivid that he wants to shrink. He doesn’t want Jessica to find out about this power. It’s embarrassing and he will turn out to be a pervert. Vincent’s skin tingled as he then felt those things jiggle. He turned red and his heart raced.

“Shit.” He thought to himself as his little junior is now having a standing ovation.

“What are you doing?” Jessica asked as she puts on her hero costume.

“Nothing! Just hurry up and let’s go.” And by accident—by sheer misfortune.

Vincent turned around to see the naked body of a changing woman in front of him.

“Fuck!” Vincent cursed.

And without any hesitation, Jessica blasted him with her water powers. Vincent hits the wall he created and bleed immediately. Thankfully, his makeup didn’t get washed off, which is why he is still thankful. He stood up and apologized for the misunderstanding. And now, Vincent is instantly labeled as a pervert.

After changing and some arguments, the two went to the bank with Jessica wearing her hero clothes. A lot of people greeted her on her way.

As the two entered the bank, Violet received word that the two are roaming the streets.

“What are they doing?!” Violet yelled as she watched the two enter the bank with the street cameras.

“They must have something in plan. You know our brother, Vi. He must be the one that forced Jessica to do this based on her expression. In any case, I hope this plan of Vincent works out. And if it’s the bank they are going, money is being involved in this mission, and fast!”
