Chapter 88: Daphne's Despair

"L-Luke, Wooooo.."

Daphne burst into tears, started crying on the spot.

Audrey and Daisy stood there in bewilderment, looking at Daphne.

Nevertheless, they soon came back to their senses, realizing that it wasn't their job to interfere and that their presence would only create more awkwardness. They left the room.

After they left, I stood up, approached the crying Daphne, and hugged her.

"It's alright... Stop crying and tell me what happened."

However, instead of replying, she held me tightly and started crying more profusely, as if she had finally found support and a space to let out her suppressed agony.

Since I wasn't in a hurry for an answer, I supported her body and patted her back, letting her vent her emotions.

A minute or two later, she eventually stopped crying, and I took her to the sofa, made her sit on my lap, and gave her some water to drink.

"Drink this, cool down, and tell me from the start what happened."
