Even though Stan has apologized to his in-laws and gone back to his job as a doorman at one of his in-laws' company, he must return back to the house in the evening. He uses all the money he can find in his pocket to buy for Emerald a bouquet of rose flowers. Her parents have probably told her what he said, and he will need to get into her good graces to be allowed to sleep in their bedroom tonight. Sleeping in their bedroom doesn't mean he will get to sleep in bed with her. In fact in their seven years of marriage, Stanley has always been made to sleep on the rug, on the ground, while she takes the king-sized bed. The only time that Emerald has ever been intimate with him was when they were both very drunk on their wedding night. Needless to say, she was highly disgusted and made sure it never happened again...The door of the bedroom has been firmly shut, and the knob won't turn. "Is Miss Hudson back?" He asks one of the servants. "She went to a party, and she instructed tha

As soon as Emerald sees the precious signet, she picks it up with great speed and surrenders it to John Plummer with a bow. "Oh, how could I have forgotten, sir? I found this signet ring that belonged to the late Lord Snow, and I only gave it to this gardener to hold it for me." John Plummer seems confused, but he immediately clears his throat and collects the ring. "Thank you, Miss Hudson, this is a very important piece of jewelry. I don't know what the young Lord Snow would have done without it." As he puts the ring into the inner pocket of his jacket, Emerald and her father can't help but notice the sad look on his face. Maybe now he thinks that the Hudson family is made up of crooks. Where did Stanley even find the signet in the first place, and how dare he not say anything. Emerald immediately raises her hand and strikes him in the shoulder. "You stupid and thieving cripple! How dare you not remind me about the ring! Were you intending to keep it for yourself and sell it?

One day earlier....Stanley is wheeling himself out of the flower shop. He has just gotten his wife some flowers, but he is not happy. How can he be happy when he just told his in-laws that his wife is cheating on him, but they defended Emerald and insulted the hell out of him? A heavy cloud of depression has fallen on him, and he doesn't care about the cars angrily honking at him. He is crossing the road in his wheelchair, but he is too lost in his thoughts to pay attention properly. If his eyes are up, he will see a convoy of cars coming at him with great speed. Before he can get out of the way, one of the cars gives him a slight brush, and he finds himself in a small puddle of muddy water. His wheelchair, which is barely holding on to functionality, has a small dent on one of the wheels. Stanley looks at himself and heaves, silently cursing his bad luck. Apart from the small cut on his cheek, and the ruin of his clothes, he is unhurt. His wife's flowers lay a few feet awa

...At this point, Stanley feels like his bones are about to be broken, so he cries out for his in-laws and his wife to stop hitting him. "Please, I am just a cripple. How can a disabled man like me try to destroy this powerful family?!" He wails. "I see what's going on here!" Andrew exclaims. "He overheard how we want to get him divorced from Emerald, so that she can get married to the young Lord Snow, but he wants to sabotage it!" Stanley's jaw drops to the ground. This, in fact, is the first time that he is hearing that his wife wants to leave him for a rich anonymous man. His eyes swell with tears, and he doesn't even attempt to hide his pain. "Why do you want to divorce me, Emerald? For seven years, I have been nothing but good to you. You have kept so many boyfriends and broken our marriage vows, but I never ever complain!" Emerald doesn't feel guilty, instead she snarls and hits him even harder. "You call yourself a husband? You are nothing but a vegetable in a chair! You

"Did you hear? The butler is returning with the young Master today!" "Thank the heavens! But where has the man been since the death of his father? It's been eight years since anyone set their eyes on him." "Well, maybe he has been abroad for business. All we are grateful for is that he is back..." There are over a hundred servants, and they make sure that they are in their best uniforms to welcome him. John Plummer pulls the car to the front, and then he nods his head with satisfaction when he sees the manner of orderliness. They are prepared for anything, but definitely not to see that the young Master snow is a cripple. One of them forgets his manners and lets out a very audible chuckle of mockery, which makes Stanley stop his wheelchair and stare at him through dark and angry eyes. "John?" Stanley snaps his fingers. "Yes, young master." "Kick this one out, immediately." Stanley says. The man immediately falls down on his face and begs like his life depends on it. "Oh, si

John Plummer is very furious with the ambitious Doctor. Maybe she is trying to show off her skills to Stanley, but how is she sure that her plan is going to work? Stanley has been through so much trouble in his life, and now he seeks to avenge himself, his father, and his mother. He is the richest heir in the world, so his disability will never be a problem to him, so far his memory gets restored. Why must this silly Doctor try to get his hopes up when she is not even sure that she can do as she claims? "Doctor, I beg you to stop this nonsense!" John shouts at her. "He has called you here to help with his memory, and he has accepted the ointment given to him." "Do you want to scam him? Is that why you lie that you can fix his legs?" The young Doctor is on her feet, head bowed in regret. "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't mean any disrespect. All I wanted to do was to help Lord Snow." "Please, leave," John points to the door. The Doctor murmurs their apologies and heads to the door, bu

Mister Watkins almost chokes on his champagne, and the girls burst out with laughter. "Marry one of my daughters?! That's just ridiculous! What job do you even have?" "Well, sir, I am an under butler. I am being trained to take over from John Plummer as soon as he can't work again." Stanley says, and this highly irritates the Watkins family. How dare someone like him show interest in their carefully raised girls? "This is the most funny thing I have heard in a while!" Geneva, the oldest says. "Let me ask you, Stanley, how many companies do you have?" Stanley shrugs. "As of yesterday, none." "How much is in your name?" "I honestly haven't checked for the accurate number." "And how many luxury cars do you own?" Stanley stops and turns to John, before sighing. "The only means of transportation to my name is my old wheelchair!" "I knew it!" Winnie snaps her finger. "This bastard is not just dirt poor! He is a cripple! How dare a cripple dare to say he wants to marry one of us!"

Right in the eyes of everyone, the Watkins family's net worth starts to drop to the bottom, the very least on the rank of the elite families! Mister Watkins can't believe his eyes as the screen of his phone turns all red, showing the horrific plight that has suddenly befallen his shares. He crashes to his knees, gasping as he holds on to his chest. His terrified daughters rush to his side and try to comfort him, even though they don't understand the magnitude of the entire situation. "Daddy, what's the matter? Did you forget to take your medicine again?" He breathes heavily as he turns to John Plummer and Stanley, standing with expressionless faces. "Please, make it stop! I don't know who you are, but you are destroying my life, my family, and everything that I have worked so hard for!" But Stanley shrugs carelessly. Hasn't he been in terrible situations where rich people have shown him zero mercy or sympathy? Why should he take his foot off this man's neck because he has sud

"John, stop thinking I'm suggesting replacing you. You are just an old man, and you will need an assistant for yourself. Do not worry, I will keep you for as long as your old ass is willing to work for me." John's face returns to normal and he runs his hand over his chest with a short laugh. "Oh, sir, if that's what you mean, then I have the best person in mind. My oldest son, I have trained him to the best of my ability. He will be the best fit for the job." "Alright, then," Stanley returns to his room. "I'm going to freshen up, so make sure that he is downstairs before I am back. He will start working today as soon as I meet him." "Yes, young Master." John struts away to make sure that the house is in order, and that breakfast will be ready as soon as Stanley is done. As for his son, ten minutes, and he is already waiting for the young Lord Snow in the living room. "Dad, do you think my suit is good enough?" The young man worries. "Do not worry, this kind of thing doesn't co
