When an entire classroom is summoned to the Radiant Empire to become the world’s saviors, Evander expects a grand adventure. Instead, he is granted a seemingly useless, zero-mana support class: [Abyssal Coordinator]. Deemed a waste of resources by the corrupt royalty, Evander is stripped of his gear and thrown into the bottomless Abyssal Chasm to die. But the chasm is a gateway. Deep in the Underworld, a desperate and newly crowned Demon Queen, Vespera, is performing a forbidden ritual to summon a world-destroying Calamity Beast to save her collapsing realm. Instead of a monster, Evander crashes onto her altar. Due to a glitch in the magic circle and his unique class, a soul-link is forged between them. To survive the suspicious demon generals who expect an omnipotent tyrant, Evander must use his modern wits and unique system skills to act as the mastermind behind Vespera's throne. Meanwhile, using a remote avatar, he infiltrates the surface world to dismantle the "heroes" who betrayed him. He isn't just surviving; he’s playing both sides of an empire-spanning war.

Chapter 1: The Zero-Mana Discard ‎

‎‎The blinding light hit him first. It wasn't the flickering fluorescent lights they had just been under. This was a golden glow that smelled like ozone, burning incense, and melted wax.

‎Evander blinked, his vision blurry. A cold, polished marble floor was under his hands. He heard twenty-four other high school seniors murmuring in confusion and panic. They were in a room with a high ceiling.

‎Welcome, Chosen Ones, to the Radiant Empire.

‎The voice was melodic and feminine. It was also crushing. It made everyone in the room silent. Evander pushed himself up to his knees. He looked around. There were stained-glass windows showing angels fighting beasts. Knights in armor stood around the room, their halberds shiny and sharp.

‎This wasn't a dream. The air was too cold. The knight's metal moved too heavily. The ozone smell was too strong.

‎High Priestess Seraphina stood at the front of the room. She wore white and gold. Her headdress looked like a halo of blades. She looked at the teenagers with cold, calculating eyes.

‎You have been pulled across the veil of worlds by the Divine Seraphina, said. Our realm is under attack by demons. The Gods think some of you can save us. Step forward to the Awakening Stone. Get your power. Save us.

‎The room erupted into panic. Some students cried, others demanded answers, and some tried to run. The knights moved forward, their boots crashing on the marble. They wouldn't let anyone leave.

‎Evander didn't panic. He observed the room. He watched as the student, Sarah, went to the Awakening Stone.

‎Place your hand on the stone, Seraphina said.

‎Sarah trembled. She put her hand on the stone. A blue screen appeared above her head.

‎Name: Sarah Jenkins

‎Class: Spirit Healer

‎Mana Capacity: Tier C

‎Seraphina nodded. A valuable asset. Take the Healer to the sanctuary.

‎The process kept going. Evander tracked the results. There were Fire Mages, Shield Knights and Wind Archers. The system seemed like a game. The stakes were real.

‎Then Caelum went to the stone. He was the star quarterback back on Earth. He swaggered to the crystal. Slammed his hand on it.

‎The crystal erupted. A golden light filled the room.

‎Name: Caelum

‎Class: Holy Vanguard

‎Mana Capacity: Tier SSS

‎The room gasped. The knights. Seraphina smiled.

‎The Vanguard, she whispered. The Gods have blessed us. You, Caelum, will lead our crusades.

‎Caelum smirked. He looked at the students. Don't worry, I'll handle the demons.

‎Evander felt a knot in his stomach. If someone like Caelum got much power, this Empire was doomed.

‎Next, Seraphina said. Her patience was wearing thin.

‎Evander stepped forward. He walked to the Awakening Stone, feeling everyone's eyes on him. He put his hand on the stone.

‎Nothing happened. A dull grey light pulsed from the stone. The screen above him flickered.

‎Name: Evander

‎Class: Abyssal Coordinator

‎Mana Capacity: Tier Null (0)

‎The room was silent. It wasn't a kind of silence. It was a silence.

‎Tier Null? Caelum laughed. You're still a benchwarmer, Evander.

‎Evander ignored him. He analyzed the screen. Abyssal Coordinator sounded important. Zero mana capacity was a problem.

‎Seraphina looked disgusted. A glitch in the summoning circle, she said. We don't need people.

‎Wait, Evander said. A coordinator class means management or control. I don't need mana to be useful.

‎Silence, commoner Seraphina cut him off. We value strength here. You're a liability.

‎She waved her hand, and two knights moved forward.

‎Strip him of his gear. Throw him in the Abyssal Chasm.

‎Evander stepped back. He looked for an escape route. There wasn't one. He was unarmed and surrounded by killers.

‎Are you going to let them do this? Evander shouted to his classmates. We came here together!

‎The other students looked away. Some looked guilty. Most looked terrified. Caelum crossed his arms, looking indifferent.

‎Comply, Evander Caelum sighed. Stop making a scene.

‎A heavy gauntleted hand grabbed Evander's shoulder. The cold metal bit painfully into his collarbone.

‎Evander twisted violently, driving his elbow backward into the knight's visor.

‎The knight merely grunted; the blow glanced harmlessly off the steel plating.

‎Before Evander could recover, the second knight struck him in the stomach with the wooden shaft of his halberd.

‎All the air rushed out of Evander's lungs in a gasp.

‎He collapsed to his knees, coughing violently as the two knights hauled him off the floor by his arms.

‎They dragged him away from the Awakening Stone and toward a dark arched doorway at the back of the cathedral.

‎You are making a mistake, Evander wheezed, glaring back at the High Priestess.

‎You have no idea what my class actually does.

‎The High Priestess, Seraphina, did not even bother to look at him.

‎She motioned for the student to step up to the stone.

‎I know that you are nothing, she replied simply.

‎The knights dragged Evander down a winding corridor of rough-hewn, damp stone.

‎The air grew steadily colder, smelling strongly of earth and foul sulfur.

‎The bright sounds of the cathedral faded away, replaced by a rushing wind.

‎They finally emerged onto a crumbling stone bridge spanning a chasm.

‎The chasm was so wide and deep that it seemed to swallow the light itself.

‎This was the Abyssal Chasm.

‎There was no bottom, just an endless expanse of blackness.

‎The knights did not hesitate.

‎They marched in unison to the edge and swung Evander backward. Let go.

‎Evander fell.

‎The freezing wind screamed in his ears, tearing at his clothes.

‎The darkness swallowed him instantly.

‎He was in freefall, gravity dragging him down into the void.

‎This was it.

‎Evander had been betrayed, discarded like garbage.

‎The logic of the situation dictated that he was going to die.

‎Impact was imminent.

‎Evander's analytical mind refused to shut down.

‎He forced his eyes open, focusing on the rushing air and the strange, oppressive, magical pressure.

‎A faint notification chime rang out in his head. His system screen flickered to life.

‎Alert: Hostile Environment Detected.

Alert: Entering Uncharted Abyssal Territory.

‎Class Requirement Met.

‎The text of his class, Abyssal Coordinator, shifted.

‎The letters burned with a luminescent crimson light.

‎Passive Skill Unlocked: Domain Recognition.

‎Warning: Foreign Summoning Ritual Intercepted.

‎Below, the void shattered.

‎A massive magic circle materialized, glowing with a blood-red luminescence.

‎Evander slammed into the center of the light.

‎The impact did not break his bones.

‎Instead, it felt like crashing through a sheet of ice into a freezing ocean.

‎The red light exploded outward, blinding him.

‎A massive shockwave rippled through the chasm.

‎System Error.

‎Target: Calamity Beast Not Found.

‎Substitute Entity Detected.

‎Agony ripped through Evander's chest.

‎It felt as though a burning hook had been driven into his heart.

‎He gasped, his back arching as the magical energy surged through his veins.

‎Link Established.

‎Partner: Demon Monarch Vespera.

‎The blinding red light faded.

‎The rushing wind stopped.

‎Evander hit a stone surface with a heavy thud.

‎He lay there coughing violently, his lungs burning.

‎He forced his eyes open, fighting through the dizziness.

‎He was lying on the floor of a ruined throne room.

‎The architecture was sharp, jagged and heavily imposing.

‎It was constructed from stone and lit by flickering, ominous purple flames.

‎At the center of the room, standing before a blood-stained altar, was a girl.

‎She was breathing heavily, her dark hair clinging to her face with sweat.

‎Two magnificent curved black horns rose from her head, and her eyes were a piercing luminescent violet.

‎This was Vespera.

‎She stared down at Evander, her violet eyes wide with shock, exhaustion and horror.

‎You... She whispered, her voice trembling.

What in the abyss are you?

‎Where is the Calamity Beast?

‎Evander groaned, slowly pushing himself up against a pillar.

‎Every muscle in his body screamed in protest.

‎He looked down at his hand.

‎A thin glowing red chain of energy was wrapped around his wrist.

‎Before he could speak, the massive iron double doors shattered inward.

‎Splinters of wood and shards of metal exploded across the floor.

‎Towering monstrous silhouettes pushed their way into the room.

‎At the head of the pack was a demon, clad in thick spiked armor.

‎His face was a scarred mask of brutality.

‎This was General Zorion.

‎The forbidden ritual is complete! Zorion roared.

‎Where is the ultimate weapon, my Queen?

‎Where is the beast that will crush the invading crusaders?

‎Zorion's gaze swept across the room, locking onto Evander.

‎Evander was slumped weakly against a pillar, wearing a torn high school uniform.

‎What kind of trickery is this? Zorion snarled.

‎You sacrificed our mana reserves to summon a human?

A fragile human?

‎Vespera froze completely.

‎The raw power she possessed meant nothing if her generals turned on her.

‎She looked down at Evander, despair flashing in her eyes.

‎Evander's mind went into overdrive.

‎He had been surrounded by human knights, and now he was surrounded by bloodthirsty demon generals.

‎The rules of the game were the same.

‎In a world driven by stats and violence, they only respected power.

‎His system screen flickered rapidly in his vision, updating with information.

‎Active Skill Unlocked: Territory Management Mode.

‎Sub-Skill: Deep Appraisal.

‎Evander narrowed his eyes, focusing on the towering general.

Name: Zorion

‎Class: Vanguard Warlord

‎Weakness: war injury in the left knee joint.

‎Evander took a deep breath.

‎He did not possess his mana.

‎He did not have a sword.

‎He had critical information and a direct soul-link to Vespera.

‎System Evander thought, his mind racing through the commands.

‎Route Vesperas magic through the Abyssal Coordinator.

‎Project an aura.

‎Set output to maximum.

‎Evander stood up.

‎He did not hide behind the pillar.

‎He did not try to explain or beg.

‎He simply stepped forward between the Demon Queen and the furious Warlord.

‎Zorion laughed loudly.

‎Look at this human.

‎It wants to protect the Queen.

‎Move out of the way, human, before I crush you.

‎Evander looked at Zorion.

‎The connection through the glowing chain flared with heat.

‎Evander managed the energy flow.

‎He took Vespera's magic and structured it.

‎He made it sharp. Projected it outward.

‎The temperature dropped.

‎The air froze.

‎The dark shadows moved toward Evander.

‎They swirled around his feet like a storm.

‎The floor cracked.

‎Zorion stopped laughing.

‎He took a step back.

‎His survival instincts screamed at him to run.

‎Evander stood still.

‎His eyes glowed with coldness.

‎He promised destruction.

‎You talk of treason and execution easily, Evander said.

‎His voice was quiet but loud in everyone's minds.

‎It was heavy and absolute.

‎Evander took a step forward.

‎His shoe hit the cracked stone like a war drum.

‎Drop your weapon, Zorion.

‎I will show you why the Queen summoned me.
