Chapter 1
the beginning
I want to become better; I don't want to keep fighting this endless battle… How did I end up here?
My name is Narihu Mizuhara. I was a trained soldier who "saved" humanity from evil, only to lose my life in that battle. I have few memories of my past life; the ones I do recall are of fighting — battle after battle. But somehow, I have been reborn into the body of a young boy, barely seven years old. My father's name is Olig and my mother's is Elizabeth; both of them love me. Being with them brings such warmth — a feeling I never experienced in my previous life. This world is very similar to the one I knew. We live in a small, backward village, quite far from the nearest town. Strangely, the way people write and speak here is exactly the same as it was in my previous life. I began to wonder if perhaps this is the same Earth I once lived on. But since I'm still a child, I have no way of finding out, and it would be odd to ask one of the older villagers about it. Secretly, I began to develop my mana. The books in our home, along with the knowledge from my past life, have been a great help. My parents were warriors in the past, but for some reason they no longer wish to fight. Still, they keep their weapons in good condition. --- In my previous life, everyone called me Narihu Mizuhara. I don't know if that name was given to me by my parents or if I chose it myself. Strangely enough, I have no memories of them as if they had been erased entirely. What's even more mysterious, and almost impossible to understand, is that in this world, I was born with the exact same name. When I grow older, I'll have to uncover the mysteries of this world. But for now, I must wait at least four more years until I can develop my mana to a level strong enough to explore this world without fear. --- One night, when I secretly went out to train my mana, I was too careless to notice the approaching footsteps. Before I knew it, Olig my father had found me. -Son, do you already have mana? Am I seeing this right? You're only eight years old how do you even know how to use it? He said it with a shocked and astonished expression. I tried to come up with an excuse, but the situation caught me off guard. I could only hope he wouldn't grow suspicious. -I was reading a book, I said nervously, and I liked the pictures in it… so I wanted to try it myself. Then this strange mist appeared around me. Father's expression softened, then turned proud. - Your mother must be so proud of you not only have you learned to read so well, but you've also managed to awaken your mana at such a young age. I'm proud of you, my son! He lifted me up in joy, hugging me tightly as he spun around the room. Just then, my mother appeared, her face stern and tired. - What's going on here, Olig? Do you have any idea what time it is? she asked angrily. Father, still grinning ear to ear, turned to her excitedly. - Our son he has mana! I'm going to start training him. He'll be strong and skilled like his father no, even better! Mother stared at him in disbelief, rubbing her temples as if he'd completely lost his mind. - Olig, do you even hear yourself? He's only eight! He just learned to read properly, and you think he already has mana? -I'm telling you the truth, Elizabeth, he insisted. We can show you, right, Narihu? I wanted to avoid this situation, but now that it had come to this, I had no choice. I sat down, focused on my inner mana, and began gathering the surrounding energies into one point. Before me appeared a radiant, pure-white mana vibrant and overflowing with energy. I realized that meant my first Mana Crystal had filled completely. From now on, I could ascend to a new level. But to do that, I would need my parents' help. -See, Elizabeth? I wasn't lying! Our child is a prodigy. - I can't believe what I'm seeing, Mother whispered. How is this even possible? He's only eight… he should be outside playing, not wielding mana. Father turned serious for the first time I'd ever seen. - Elizabeth,(he said, looking first at me, then at her). I've decided. I'll train him myself. I'll teach him how to use a sword, and I want you to teach him how to channel his mana. -That's not what we agreed on, Mother protested. We promised to keep him away from that world. -I know… (Father sighed). But teaching him the basics doesn't mean we're throwing him into it. If something ever happens to us, at least he'll be able to protect himself. Please, Elizabeth it's for our child's sake. I had never seen that expression on Father's face before. He had always been cheerful and lighthearted, like someone untouched by tragedy. But now I understood his smile existed because of the pain he had endured. Mother finally nodded, though her expression remained uncertain, as if she wasn't sure whether they were making the right choice.Expand

Narihu Goodbye
The day had finally come — the day we would leave for Asterin. The sunlight poured warmly into my room, yet inside I felt nothing but sorrow at the thought of leaving my parents behind. I sat up in bed and placed my hand over my heart.“I’ll become stronger — strong enough to protect them. That will be my purpose while I’m at the Academy.”I clenched my fist against my chest, determination burning in my eyes.“That’s a good goal. I support it.”Rei’s voice came out of nowhere as he continued packing his things.I’d completely forgotten he was sharing the room with me. My face flushed bright red. “Mind your own business! Don’t eavesdrop on my thoughts!” I snapped, embarrassed. “I’m trying to,” he replied with that calm, blank look of his, though a teasing smile hid behind it. “It’s just hard when you’re yelling at yourself.”“Ugh…” I grumbled, choosing to storm out of the room rather than give him the satisfaction of seeing me blush harder. In the kitchen, both my parents were waitin

Narihu The Trial
The remaining months passed swiftly and quietly, with little to mark their passing. For my fourteenth birthday, my parents gave me a new neglance to replace the one I'd broken during the battle against Unit 1283. Rei had already grown used to living with us; each day, he blended more naturally into our lives. As for Senna, I had only spoken to her a few times since then — brief exchanges when we crossed paths during training.I had finally reached the seventh Mana Orb. That meant it was time for another trial. For safety, I told Senna to stay by my side while I attempted it — in case something went wrong."Mother, I'm heading out to train with Senna!" I said, finishing my breakfast in a hurry before standing up and rushing to the door."All right, son — but don't be late. You still need to pack when you get back," she called out, rinsing the dishes."Pack? Why do I need to pack?" I asked, confused."You're leaving for Asterin tomorrow," she replied, her tone soft but her lips curved d

Narihu My first love
Would they miss me if I disappeared… or died? Probably not.All I've ever done is hurt people — never managed to form a bond that truly mattered.Do I even deserve this second chance?"Only you can decide that," a woman's voice spoke from within the darkness."In this life, you can make things right. You cannot change your past mistakes, but the present is still in your hands."Her voice was warm — a tone that melted something frozen deep inside me."This life is nothing like the one before. You have a loving family, friends, someone you care about… and peace."Her words pulled me out of my self-blame. Slowly, my eyes opened, and the song of birds greeted me. Rei was already awake, training. The air around him stood still as he focused his mana.Ever since he started living with us, that's been his morning ritual — growing stronger, to avenge his father.I didn't want to disturb him, so I quietly stood up and went to have breakfast.Mother was already eating."Good morning, Mother!" Narihu Zey's farewell
My consciousness began to return slowly. The darkness in my vision was replaced by a faint light. I could hear muffled voices — my parents, their friends... and Nari."Move aside," Nari said urgently, kneeling beside Rei. She placed her hands over him and began using her ability."What happened here?" — that was the question on everyone's face. They turned toward the motionless figure of 1283, and their expressions froze."What is a Veldori soldier doing here?" Their eyes could barely comprehend what they were seeing."How did they manage to defeat him?" Siena asked, kneeling down to inspect his mana crystal. "I don't know how many orbs he possessed, but one thing's certain — he was a black-level mana user." Her words deepened the shock in everyone's eyes."He wasn't alone."The words left my lips through heavy breaths as I weakly pointed toward the cave. "There were more of them… inside." My arm trembled; I could barely hold it up."Don't push yourself," Nari said softly, her voice t

Narihu When the World stopped breathing
The day had finally come. Getting out of bed was harder than usual. That old, long-forgotten feeling — uncertainty — crept back into me.Can we really pull this off? Without Bloodweave, we don't stand a chance. They're all at least Green or even Purple level… and 1283… he might be far beyond that.I got ready in silence. Strapped my sword to my back, fastened the necklace around my neck. Then I heard voices — my parents talking to someone in the kitchen.Curious, I walked closer. Two guests sat with them, a man and a woman. As I stepped inside, their conversation stopped."Ah, so this is your son, Olig," the man said, smiling wide. "You've told me so much about how talented he is."The woman turned to me and smiled. "Hello, Narihu. I'm Siena, and this is Arthur."Her eyes studied me with a curious warmth, as if she was trying to see the truth in my father's stories."Go on, Narihu, introduce yourself," my mother said."I'm Narihu… thirteen years old. There's not much else to say," I m

Narihu Bloodweave
I never truly believed I could use my old technique with this body. But if I somehow could… it would change everything. It would make me unstoppable.A true Crimson-tier ability. In my previous life, I called it Bloodweave — the art of manipulating my own blood. With it, I could shape my life's essence into weapons or armor — a blade sharp enough to split steel, or a shield that no strike could pierce.Every time I fought, it turned the tide. The more blood I lost, the stronger I became. But it always came at a cost.Lose too much, and the body collapses. Push too far, and you die.I found a spot near the river — quiet, hidden, surrounded by trees. No one would come here. Perfect for training."Alright… let's start." (I muttered, taking a knife and cutting into my palm)Blood flowed, but nothing happened. No pulse of mana, no connection, no movement.Just pain."Damn it… why isn't it working?" (I whispered, watching the red drip down my hand, feeling frustration eat away at me)I trie
