CHAPTER 001
In a well secured prison facility on the outskirts of Rivergate City, the warden guard walked majestically to a cell, “Hey you, Inmate 456, Steven Milton! You are free to go. I hope you don't get to come back to this awful place. Try not to come back here. Be good!” Steven walked out majestically from the cell, followed the warden guard closely from behind he was led to the storage room. He was given a box and went through some prison procedures. All the outfits he brought with him were returned back and he gave the warden a slight nod. He changed into them, everything he was imprisoned with five years ago, except for his engagement ring could be found in the box, he knew that was long gone, he didn't bother to ask, he just wanted to leave that godforsaken place as soon as possible. “Someone is here to pick you up. Steven, stay away from trouble!” The warden uttered and Steven only nodded. ‘Someone? Tsk! Does anyone even care about his well being?’ He thought. Five years ago, Steven’s supposed biological family, the Milton family, found him using a paternity test. They brought him home claiming that he was the heir to the Milton family they brought him back to Riverage City. He had never been someone who was quickly enticed even though he had nothing, but he believed them, after seeing a paternity test and all their pleading of him coming home to them. Deep down, Steven had yearned for a family to call his, happy that he would soon have a family who would love and support him. After knowing that he was truly their biological son he went home to them, it was not until he got into the Milton household that he found out that they had adopted a son to fill the void of losing him years ago. The adopted son was none other than Jackson Milton. The Milton family had raised, nurtured and groomed Jack like a prince and heir to Milton's wealth. So despite finding their biological son, they couldn't let go of Jack. How could they? They had nurtured him for years, grown to love him, whatever they felt he wanted they gave him in full without complaints. To others, they claimed that Steven was doing well and recuperating from a serious illness, that was the reason why he wasn't with them, then claimed that Jack was his younger brother and the youngest heir to the Milton's. But then something happened that tested their love for both kids, they had to choose. The Milton family had a longstanding marriage agreement with the Guler family of Riverage City, these people were one of the most prominent families in that city, their wealth and influence was next to none. But, they had standards and principles, one not to be taken lightly. They insisted that their daughter would only get married to the biological son of the Milton family. The Gulers figured out that Jack was just an adopted child with their resources and influence in the city. Despite Milton's claims of guaranteeing that Jack was the younger brother of Steven! “Harry, if you want a marriage alignment with my family, you will get your biological son here.” Mr Guler had uttered sternly, surprising everyone. That moved the Milton's to search for their son, after he was found, the daughter of the Guler family, Diana Guler had to change from being Jack's fiance to Steven's. This made Jack Milton so upset and devastated, he felt threatened by all this. He began drinking, acting very differently, he became irresponsible. To the point he drove out of a bar despite being drunk which resulted in something bad. Jackson, who was behind the wheels drunk and unstable, hit and killed someone that unfaithful night. The Milton family were so devastated; “If it wasn't for you, Jackson would have never turned out this way, he is devastated that you stole his fiancee, else he would never have been drinking in the first place, you are the cause of all this, you should take his place!” “What?” “Want to refuse? You will take his place! In just five years after all, you will be out like nothing happened. Besides, Jack wouldn't survive in jail for one minute, he isn't used to hardships, so just take his place, you are his older brother, more stronger.” Before Steven could even utter a word in protest the Milton family had him taken to precinct and locked up. He went through hell, humiliation, starvation, there were times he was locked in solitary confinement whenever he tried to fight for himself. He went through all manner of pain and finally he was out to breathe the freedom his own family had deprived him. Even in his darkest moments no help came, no one had his back, he suffered a great deal and now… He immediately snapped out of his thoughts as the huge prison gate opened widely and the cold wind blew his dark hair. Five years later, he was outside, that's all that mattered. Just ahead, a beautiful woman stood waiting patiently for him. Recognising who it was, Steven walked towards her, she is none other than his fiancee Diana Guler. "Welcome back from prison, fiancé." Diana gave a faint smile, as if nothing had ever happened. "Bet you didn’t expect me to be the one picking you up, huh?" Steven stared at her smile with a blank expression. He replied calmly, "I really didn’t expect anyone to show up." Seeing his indifference, Diana’s expression darkened slightly. “What are you upset about? So what if you spent five years in prison? It’s not like you suffered that much. Jackson told me everything.” At the mention of Jackson’s name, Steven’s lips twitched slightly. “I went to prison in his place for five years, and he couldn’t even bother to come pick me up?” Diana looked a bit awkward. She cleared her throat and said, “Today is Jackson’s birthday. Your parents are with him, celebrating... You really couldn’t have chosen a better day to get out?” Steven gave her a cold glance. Five years ago, words like that would’ve felt like a knife to the heart. But now, all he felt was that his past self had been nothing but a fool. These kinds of family members. This kind of fiancée... And he actually used to have hope for them. He gently pushed Diana aside and said in a low voice, “Please move. I’m leaving.” Diana frowned, clearly annoyed. “What’s with the attitude? I came to pick you up and you’re still not satisfied? Everyone’s missed you, and here you are acting like some poor victim. Who are you putting on this act for?” Steven turned back coldly at her words. “Missed me? Legally speaking, visitation is allowed, right? So how is it I didn’t see any of you once in the past five years?” Diana was momentarily speechless. A flicker of guilt flashed in her eyes. But remembering how Steven had made Jackson feel wronged time and time again in the past, she held her ground and snapped, “You were always so calculating, trying to push Jackson out the moment you came back home. We stayed away to help you reflect and fix those bad habits. It was for your own good...” As she spoke, Diana grabbed Steven’s hand and frowned. “Come home with me!” But the moment she took his hand, her expression changed. “Our engagement ring... Steven, you actually lost our engagement ring?!”

Abandoned In Prison, Now They Regret! CHAPTER 147
The elevator doors slid shut behind Kahuna with a soft hiss that sounded too final. The air in the corridor still vibrated with tension... the kind that clung to the skin and refused to leave. The metallic tang of blood lingered, sharp and suffocating. Princewill exhaled quietly, holstering his gun. “Let’s go,” he said. Nathaniel didn’t move. His eyes were fixed on Adrian’s body, the lifeless man who had claimed to know the truth. “He was telling the truth about something,” Nathaniel murmured. “He had to be. The way he looked at me… he wasn’t just crazy.” Princewill’s tone was steady but cold. “You think that because you’re still seeing him as a man. Don’t. He stopped being one a long time ago.” “But...” “Enough.” Princewill’s voice cut through the silence, low and sharp. “Do not test me tonight, Nathaniel, you are my friend from back in the day, trust me, don't push it.” Nathaniel’s jaw tightened, but he followed as Princewill led him back toward the elevator. Abandoned In Prison, Now They Regret! CHAPTER 146
The elevator doors slid open with a faint hiss, revealing only dim light and a corridor lined with smooth steel. Nathaniel’s pulse pounded in his ears as he stepped inside. “Basement… level 0,” he muttered, staring at the keypad. There was no such button. Then, just as he was about to turn back, the lights flickered, once, twice and a new option blinked to life on the panel: “B0—Restricted.” His breath caught. “What the hell…” He pressed it. The elevator groaned, descending lower than he’d ever gone. The hum grew heavier, the air colder. When it stopped, the doors opened into darkness. A figure stood waiting. “Mr. Brown,” a voice said, the same voice from the message. “You came.” Nathaniel stepped out slowly. “Who are you?” The man’s face was half-hidden beneath the flicker of a failing light. He looked older, worn out, eyes sunken, movements restless. “Once, I was one of them. Like you. But I saw what they really do here.” Nathaniel frowned. “You mean Kahu

Nathaniel hesitated. “Truth about what?” “About yourself. About DIB. About what you’d do when power asks you to choose between survival and conscience.” Nathaniel looked down, his voice low. “I just wanted a second chance at life.” “No one gets second chances,” the Founder replied. “Only new chains.” Nathaniel looked up, anger flaring. “So this is another prison?” The Founder chuckled quietly. “Not a prison but a purpose.” The walls flickered suddenly, turning into transparent glass. Beneath the chamber, hundreds of levels of the Kahuna Tower glowed each one filled with operatives, data analysts, global surveillance grids, and digital command networks. “This,” said the Founder, “is the empire you now belong to. Governments call us myth… corporations call us gods. And every transaction, every war, every scandal you read… passes through this tower before it hits the world.” Nathaniel stared, stunned. “You control everything.” “We don’t control,” the Founder corr

The elevator ride to the 99th floor felt longer this time. The silence between the guards was heavier than words. When the doors opened, Princewill was waiting, standing by the large panoramic window again, his back turned to the room. “Nathaniel,” he said, his tone unreadable. “Sit.” Nathaniel obeyed, though every nerve in his body screamed that something was wrong. Princewill turned slowly, holding a tablet… his expression calm, almost too calm. “Care to explain this?” He slid the tablet across the table. On the screen was the transmission file — the same one with Nathaniel’s ID. Nathaniel’s stomach twisted. “That’s not mine. I didn’t send that file.” Princewill raised a brow. “Really? Because our system says otherwise.” “I swear, Princewill, I found it in the archive. Someone planted it. Someone inside.” Princewill studied him carefully. “You’re saying you’ve been framed?” “Yes.” Princewill exhaled, walking around the table to stand beside him. “You realize

The connection snapped. The screen returned to normal. Nathaniel leaned back, his breath shaky. Sweat clung to his temple. His intercom buzzed suddenly. “Mr. Brown,” a voice said, calm and corporate. “CEO Princewill requests your presence… now.” He stood slowly, his heart still hammering. “On my way.” As the elevator doors slid shut again, his reflection stared back at him, he was more like a man caught between two worlds. When the elevator opened on the 99th floor, Princewill was waiting. His expression was unreadable. “You touched something you shouldn’t have,” he said quietly. Nathaniel froze. “I… I didn’t mean to. It was…” Princewill’s gaze darkened. “He spoke to you, didn’t he?” Nathaniel hesitated, then nodded. “Yes.” Princewill sighed, stepping closer. “Then remember what I tell you now.” His tone was firm, deliberate. “Kahuna sees everything. You don’t look for him. You wait for him to find you. That’s how you survive here.” Nathaniel swallowed hard. “I u

Abandoned In Prison, Now They Regret! CHAPTER 142
One month after the whole issues with DIB, Nathaniel was about to resume his first day at work with Kahuna Empire. He stood before the mirrored glass of the Kahuna Empire, a tower high as though rising towards the clouds. It was silent and intimidating like the faceless man behind its name. The building was everything he’d heard and more; towering, silent, cold, and alive. Even from the outside, it pulsed with invisible energy… money, power, and fear. He swallowed hard. A month ago, he’d been crawling out of the ruins of DIB, hunted, hated on, and forgotten. Now, he was about to walk into a new empire. An empire that owned governments, dictated economies, and made enemies disappear quietly. Princewill’s voice replayed in his mind — calm and persuasive, the same voice that had dragged him from his own grave. “Nathaniel, you’ve been freed, but freedom has a price. The Kahuna Empire doesn’t give chances twice, your loyalty is what is needed here.” The glass doors s
