"Your Honour! Mr Jack Turner not only regularly sexually harassed the female employees of the car wash, but he also beat up anyone who dared to stop him."

"And my client, who had only stood up for himself to protect these poor women, was

badly injured by him!"

"He is a violent sex offender– and if this kind of a person is allowed to get away with it once, he will become a threat to the personal safety of us all!"

The lawyer's words shook the entire courtroom as the crowd of onlookers murmured amongst themselves;

"That's horrible."

"How can there be such a brutal and shameless person?"

"He doesn't deserve to be called a human, he is a monster!"

"May God bless the hero who fought this demon."

Jack Turner sat in the defendant's seat, and his fists gradually clenched as he heard these words.

The lawyer's words were completely fabricated nonsense, because he was the one who had protected the female employees!

His boss, the one who had hired this lawyer, was the one who had been harassing the women and threatening their jobs if they said a single word to anyone.

Not only did his boss drag him to court on a false charge, but he actually had this lawyer blatantly lie in front of the court!

His eyes swept over to the plaintiff's table, where his boss just sat there so calmly, as if he had already won the case.

"You're obviously the one who has harassed all these women! You shameless swine! You call me evil, what proof do you have?"

Jack felt overwhelmed, but the next thing he knew, his boss's lawyer was giving him a sickening smile.

"Mr Jack Turner, are you now slandering my client?"

Jack's lawyer immediately stopped and he signaled Jack not to speak out of turn.

"What kind of sense is it that he's making things up here and I'm supposed to shut up!"

Jack's voice did get lower and lower despite his grumbling.

"We have the key witness, the lady you're protecting will speak for you."

The lawyer's voice caused Jack to gradually relax, but he immediately heard his boss's lawyer speak once more.

"And to prove that my statements are accurate, I am going to call a few witnesses next…"

The first to come was a lady who, after giving Jack a somewhat guilty look, began her statement.

"Jack Turner seems very warm and welcoming, but he… he often stares at me, and he purposely wets my clothes with water and touches me inappropriately while he's washing my car…"

"That's not true!" Jack immediately protested, rising from his chair.

"Sit down! Mr Turner, if you can't follow the rules of the court, I'm going to have to ask you to leave! "

The judge's heavy hammer shut Jack up once more, and the bailiff had pressed his hand on his shoulder as a warning.

If his lawyer wasn't a mute, he wouldn't have to speak, naturally!

"Ma'am, you don't have to be afraid, because you have the support of all the people he has harassed besides you! "

With the lawyer's words, in the audience, several female employees stood up, and Jack couldn't believe his eyes. Because all of these female employees were sexually harassed by his boss, and now they were supporting his boss at a time like this?

Even though they didn't say anything yet, this atmosphere of bowed heads and silence made everything speak for itself.

There was an outpouring of sympathy from the onlookers, and even though things didn't seem too positive for him at this point, Jack was not very troubled.

He knew that it would be difficult to convince the court that the Petitioner was actually the one who had committed the crime.

But Jack was confident that once the lady would herself tell everyone that he was there to protect her, the situation would become crystal clear within no time

His lawyer had already promised him that she would come to the court and testify, so there was no need to worry. And anyway, it looked like Wendell's lawyer had said whatever he wanted to say, so it would be his turn soon.

Thinking this, he sat straight in his seat, when his boss's lawyer said;

"Your Honour, I have one final witness to call to the stand, who will prove my statements in the eye of the law. Mrs. Monica Shepard."

Monica… Shepard…

As soon as Jack heard these two words, he felt like he had been hit by a thunderbolt!

This was the female employee who had been harassed by Robert Wendell, and who was supposed to testify in favor of Jack! Then what the hell was she doing?

He looked at his lawyer with a confused look, who was deliberately avoiding eye contact with him and was looking straight ahead.

All eyes focused on Mrs Shepard, while she started to speak in a robotic voice, as if it was practiced thoroughly.

"Everything that has been said about Mr Wendell is true. Jack Turner tried to sexually harass me, and Mr Wendell had to face the consequences for protecting me."

Jack's eyes narrowed in disbelief. Anger surged through him as he realized that the person he expected to support him, had also betrayed him.

He finally turned towards his lawyer, realizing that he was nothing more than a puppet!

"She's lying, Your Honour! Why the hell are you lying, do you have no sense of right or wrong? How can you say this, at least you should know that I was only trying to help you! Did you already sell your soul to the Devil?"

Jack exploded in anger, unable to contain his frustration. The bailiffs moved quickly to restrain Jack, holding him and forcefully dragging him to his seat.

He struggled against their grip, frustration written on the lines of his face. He gave a sharp look towards Monica Shepard, a mix of hurt and anger in his eyes, while she was not even looking at him.

Jack began to connect the dots. His lawyer was also on the boss's side, and now, the unexpected testimony from Mrs. Shepard… nobody had even paid attention to his screams, which meant that even the judge, who was supposed to be on the side of justice, had been bribed by Robert.

The judge delivered the verdict with an unbothered demeanor, as if Jack was nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum.

"Considering all the witnesses and evidence presented, the court finds Mr. Jack Turner guilty of sexual assault and…"

“Please wait! Your Honour, as the defense, I also have a witness to call. This witness has spent a lot of time with Mr Jack Turner, and she can testify to Mr Jack's morality.”

Jack looked at his lawyer, he didn't expect that in this moment of desperation, this lawyer, who had been silent all this time, would choose to defend him.

But Jack failed to notice a satisfied and evil smile on his boss's face, as the lawyer announced;

"That would be Mr Jack Turner's wife, Mrs. Rebecca Turner!"
