I Got Reincarnated As A Dragon

The sun-kissed afternoon illuminated the bustling city streets, teeming with life and activity.

Amidst the throngs of people, a young man with jet-black hair and a modest build donned the corporate garb of his office.

Walking down the bustling walkway, the sweet melody of his music was the only sound he heard, muffled by the earbuds in his ears. Suddenly, a figure in black, burst onto the street, pursued by uniformed officers.

The police shouted, "Stop in the name of the law!" as their voices echoed through the crowds.

The masked fugitive sneered beneath his disguise, knowing that no one in their right mind would heed their demands. He had chosen this pedestrian-only zone precisely because the police were prohibited from using their weapons.

The panicked screams of the crowds filled the air as the criminal pushed his way through, shouting, "Get out of the way!" at the top of his lungs.

As the criminal neared the oblivious Elvis, both the fugitive and concerned bystanders tried to warn him, but he was lost in his music and unaware of the impending danger.

In a fit of desperation, the criminal pulled out his firearm and aimed it at Elvis. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the street, Elvis fell and lay crumpled on the pavement, his lifeblood slowly seeping out of his body. The sweet melody that had only been audible to him moments ago now replaced by the haunting sound of his final breaths.

His eyes, once bright and full of life, were now empty and lifeless. The corporate garb that had once been his armor in the bustling city now stained with his own blood.

The gunshot wound that had pierced his chest was now a gaping hole, with the crimson liquid pooling around him, creating a macabre painting on the concrete. The scent of iron was heavy in the air, mixed with the panicked screams of the crowds that had now gathered around.

The police were torn between their pursuit and the need to aid the wounded civilian, calling for an ambulance as they tried to prevent the growing crowd from getting too close.

Elvis' consciousness was fading as he lay on the ground, his mind racing with questions. He wondered, "Am I dying? Will I never experience wealth or love? Will I die just like a virgin office worker on overtime?"

With an error message informing him that warmth could not be granted, he was given an alternative - the power of fire and heat resistance.

"I would be feared or respected by the citizens. I could do whatever I wanted; having a girl - no, ten girls - at my side wouldn't be a problem."

Yet even this wish was denied him, and he was granted an alternative - to be at the top of the food chain, feared and revered by many.

Deep within the mountain's recesses lay a concealed lair, which concealed a giant, dormant egg. Once a symbol of hope and vitality, the egg had lost its potency, abandoned by its mother and left to hibernate in a slumberous state. Yet, it was not lifeless, for in a blinding eruption of golden radiance, it cracked open, illuminating the mountain and the skies above.

The light was so intense that even the surrounding flora seemed to bow in reverence. From a nearby cliff, an aged and stoic man observed the spectacle with a mix of awe and apprehension. "The prophecy has come to pass," he murmured to himself. "A creature of immense power has been born, one that will dominate all and be feared by all. The golden light is an omen of its coming, a harbinger of the upheaval it will bring."

The old man's eyes glinted with a hint of excitement. "If it realizes its full potential, it will unbalance the world's power structures and pose a threat to all, even the divine. Finally, something noteworthy is about to occur in this monotonous and stagnant universe." And with that, he vanished as suddenly as he had appeared, leaving behind only the magnificent scene and the promise of a portentous future.
