Chapter 1

Asher’s POV

“Cheryl…How…?” I watched my world fall apart right before me on that stage. It was clear that I had made the biggest mistake by bringing my girlfriend to that concert.

The man of the night, the college star, Neil had called for a girl to come do his Dirty Dance song with him and for some reason, my girlfriend had run out and donated herself for that.

I had used up my savings to buy our tickets and now I was seeing what my guts had been telling me all that time. The girl I had given my whole life for was right there on the stage, rocking Neil and getting spanked like she was some whore.

But to make it even worse, she seemed to be having the time of her life as the cheering of the crowd nearly made me deaf.

To make it even worse, my college bullies didn't hesitate to rub it in my face at that point. Comments flew in from all sides.

“She ain't your girl any more…”

“Neil's got your girl on the tip of his finger, and you know where that finger will be going soon…”

“You're such a loser, your girl wouldn't even want to date you…”

“I always tried to tell you, Asher… this girl wasn't worth it from the start…” Theo's voice was audible to me in the midst of everyone jeering at me. “We gotta get out of here. Too bad it had to get to this before you could see that I was right.”

“No…” I just didn't know what it was in me that didn't want to accept that I had been dating some loose girl all that time. “That can't be…”

“This isn't some movie…she clearly made her choice to disgrace you out here. She never really cared…she's just been using you for all that you can give her.” Theo gave me a tap on the shoulder as I just couldn't take my eyes off the stage.

Neil, who was a fast rising music star and also a college student, had always bullied me with his gang and she was well aware of how badly I hated him. But then, she went ahead to do that, like she was intentionally trying to cause me pain.

I had gotten us the tickets to the concert to celebrate her birthday and made sure we got in the front row, and that was what I had gotten in return.

“Ooh…!” The crowd cheered as they both kissed on stage. Not just a normal smear of the lips, but a deep, sloppy, lustful kiss. Something I had never done with Cheryl.

In a successful attempt to add salt to injury, Neil flipped her in a way she had her back turned on the stage while he was on the other side, gnawing away at her lips. Then he looked in my direction as he grabbed her ass hungrily.

That flipped a switch in me instantly. I almost didn't know when I jumped over the barricade. At that point. I was ready to head over to the stage and give them both a piece of my mind.

“Asher…!” Theo's voice was louder than that of all the people jeering and cussing how much of a loser I was. “She isn't worth it…”

His words didn't make sense to me as all that was before me was the stage and my two targets. Before I could make my way to the stairs, I was suddenly hit with a fist that floored in an instant.

The sound faded away momentarily as I was struggling to regain my orientation of where I was.

“Get your ass back in the stands, scumbag…!” One of the security guards yelled at me with so much hate in his voice.

I wasn't sure which one of them had hit me as I could barely see their faces. I had always thought double vision had been an effects in movies up until that moment.

My upper body was leaving the floor involuntarily as I was being dragged by both arms, while my lower body scraped the floor while they dragged me.

By the time I was taken close to the barricade, my hearing had come back to me and I realized the music had stopped. They tossed me back over barricade where I fell into Theo's arms.

“Damn, let's get you out of here…” Theo's words made me feel like the most pitiful man. “I told you that bitch isn't worth it.”

My pain didn't stop all the kids in the crowd from mocking me and making fun of me as much as they did. I had no idea just where the heck things would be going from there.

By the time I was outside taking in all the fresh air that I could, I was able to walk again. I had been suffocating from the pain and embarrassment to the point it felt like I had been under water.

“You're bleeding. We need to get you out of here…” Theo said as he took a closer look at me under the street lights outside the auditorium.

The pain on my face and in my head was nothing compared to the broken heart under my chest.

“I'm not leaving till I get my hands on Neil.” I blurted out in confused agony. I really didn't know who to hold responsible for that catastrophe; Neil, Cheryl or myself for being so blind to all the signs.

“Dude, you know you can't do any of that. You tried already and you got knocked out flat.” Theo sighed in an annoyed tone laced with concern. “We are not taking another chance. Let's go home and forget that this ever happened and—”

He was interrupted by the sound of the crowd shouting. Neil was about to come out to his car. I didn't waste anytime spotting him in his shiny dress.

“Are you kidding me now…? He's taking your girl with him.” Theo had barely finished when I took off.

It could only get worse from that point.
