For his entire life, Oscar had known nothing but humiliation and suffering. Orphaned at a young age, Oscar grew up as a man who was constantly looked down upon. Even his own family ostracized him, while the people around him never stopped bullying and humiliating him. The only thing that kept him going was love. However, after two years in a relationship, the woman he trusted the most—Geyssa—betrayed him and accepted the proposal of Derek, a wealthy man who had always looked down on him. Oscar was humiliated. Insulted. Dragged away and thrown out like an animal. But that night became the beginning of everything. After inheriting a sacred circlet that belonged to his late grandfather, Oscar's life changed drastically. The circlet was no ordinary object, but a Magical Talisman left behind by the God of Thunder and sent into the world since ancient times. And Oscar... was the chosen bloodline heir who had been destined from the very beginning. Now Oscar was no longer a weak man who could be trampled on at will. With mysterious powers that continued to grow, he became capable of seeing supernatural things, hearing whispers from another world, and sensing danger through his spiritual sight. One enemy after another began to appear. From greedy humans and practitioners of dark arts to deadly sorcerers who wanted to erase Oscar from existence. Yet the more they tried to kill him, the more terrifying the power awakening within him became. Even the police, the mafia, and demons themselves... were no longer a threat to him. But behind all that revenge lay a great secret about the true reason the Magical Talisman had been sent into the world. An ancient mission. A hidden war. And a destiny that would determine the fate of the entire world.

Chapter 1

1. Mercilessly Bullied

His chest churned with anger.

Yet in the end, that handsome face lowered in resignation.

Oscar bent his knees.

He knelt and pleaded with his late father's extended family, begging them to agree to use a small portion of his grandfather's inheritance.

His grandfather was currently gravely ill, but there was no money left to cover the cost of treatment.

All of his grandfather's wealth had already been taken over by his own children.

"Absolutely not! I just opened a new company for my son. Where am I supposed to get any more money?" his second uncle said.

"I can't help either. Things are tight financially right now," said his third uncle, despite having recently purchased a luxurious villa on a private island.

"And what about me? Tommy is getting married next month. The venue alone costs three billion. That's not even counting the other expenses. I can't lend you any money!" said his fourth uncle.

Oscar fell silent.

The memories were still vivid in his mind—how much his grandfather had loved his sons all these years.

Oscar swallowed, his throat bitter.

When his grandfather lost consciousness, the inheritance had already been divided by his uncles.

And there had been no share for him.

"I promise I'll pay everything back," Oscar said sincerely, his eyes filled with desperation.

The look in his eyes was heartbreaking.

Yet it failed to move his uncles' stone-cold hearts.

"Even if you worked until the day you die, you'd never be able to repay it!" his second uncle shouted.

Oscar dragged himself forward on his knees and reached for his second uncle's feet.

"I can do it, Uncle. I promise I'll pay it back as soon as possible. I swear on my life."

His weak voice only filled the room with laughter.

Mocking laughter.

Scornful laughter.

"You poor loser! You can barely afford to feed yourself, yet you're trying to play the hero. Get away from me! Even your touch brings bad luck!"

A kick landed squarely against him, sending Oscar flying backward.

His gaze swept across the large room, looking at every face present.

Not a single person pitied him.

Not a single person intended to help.

All he saw were mocking and disgusted expressions.

"That's right. This malignant tumor surgery will cost nearly ten billion. And that's only the doctor's rough estimate. Besides, your grandfather is already old. His life isn't worth much anymore," his fourth uncle added.

Oscar struggled to hide his shock.

The kick had hurt his body.

But those words hurt far more.

Were his grandfather's own children really cruel enough to speak about their father that way?

They had no hearts.

Oscar swallowed hard.

No tears came.

He stared at everyone in the room, committing this day to memory.

Then his gaze stopped at a closed bedroom door.

Inside that room, his grandfather was lying in bed, fighting the sudden illness that had struck him.

Taking a deep breath, Oscar rose to his feet and walked away.

Throughout the journey back to the city where he had been living for the past several years, Oscar kept thinking about how he could possibly obtain such a huge amount of money.

His head throbbed.

'No. I have to get that money as soon as possible!'

Oscar closed his eyes tightly.

Determined.

Bzzz.

A notification caused him to slowly open his eyes.

[Honey, don't be late tomorrow, okay? You already bought my gift, right?]

Oscar read the message with a frustrated expression.

It was from his girlfriend, Geyssa.

Yes, tomorrow was her birthday.

She had even asked him to rent a venue for the celebration.

She had invited a hundred of her friends and demanded an expensive gift she had wanted for a long time.

[Of course. See you tomorrow.]

Oscar replied briefly.

His headache worsened as he remembered that he still hadn't bought the expensive gift she wanted.

With a troubled mind, Oscar dialed a number he had found on a website.

Not long afterward, the corners of his lips lifted slightly.

Then several notifications appeared, causing Oscar's eyes to widen.

He fiddled with his phone for a moment.

Then sent a message.

«Second Uncle, I've transferred the ten billion. Please arrange Grandfather's surgery immediately.»

Not long after, his phone buzzed.

«You managed to get a loan pretty quickly. Alright, don't worry. I'll take care of it right away.»

The reply made Oscar breathe a sigh of relief.

The handsome young man seemed energized once more.

Now it was time to find a special gift for his girlfriend.

The long-awaited day finally arrived.

Dressed in his best clothes, Oscar calmly walked into the venue.

One of his hands repeatedly touched his pocket.

It seemed he was afraid of losing the incredibly expensive gift he had purchased.

As soon as he stepped into the beautifully decorated hall, Oscar frowned.

'Isn't that Derek? Why is Geyssa holding his hand?'

A painful feeling gripped his heart.

Still, Oscar refused to think badly of her.

There was no way Geyssa would betray him.

She had been his girlfriend for two years.

"Happy birthday, honey. This is for you."

As soon as he reached her, Oscar smiled warmly.

He offered his congratulations and handed over the special gift she had asked for.

"Oh? You're Oscar? Oscar, right? The poor orphan who used to attend school on a scholarship because he couldn't afford tuition?"

Derek's voice echoed through the room, immediately drawing everyone's attention.

The sarcasm rang clearly in Oscar's ears.

Before he could react, the gift in his hands was snatched away.

"What's this?" Geyssa asked as she grabbed the gift without the slightest hesitation.

Oscar was stunned by the way she treated him.

He never imagined Geyssa would tear open the gift he had prepared with all his heart so casually.

The jewelry box was ripped open in a single motion.

And then—

Brsshh!
